Political Ombudsman Donna Parchment Brown has intervened in the squabble between the leaders of the two main political parties ahead of the February 25 general election.

Parchment Brown has propsed a meeting Wednesday with PNP President Portia Simpson Miller and JLP Leader Andrew Holness and says that she is "very hopeful that both will be available (on Wednesday the 17th) so we're making every effort to organize a meeting at some point during the day." .

The tension has resulted from public utterances by both leaders as well as threats of legal action.

Mrs Parchment Brown said she had written to Mrs. Simpson Miller and Mr. Holness and tried to arrange a meeting on Monday of this week, but neither was able to attend on that day.
