England-based player fights to represent Jamaica at World TT Champs

The controversy that has surrounded England-based player Christopher Lewis representing Jamaica at the World Table Tennis Championship in Malaysia, is now being handled as a legal matter.

Lewis was expected to have joined Michael Hyatt, Mark Phillips and Kane Watson at their final training camp in California but is yet to secure a Jamaican passport which would make him eligible to compete for the country.

President of the Jamaica Table Tennis Association Godfrey Lothian says failure by Lewis to secure his Jamaican passport would mean the team would have to field a three member contingent as it would probably be too late to name a replacement.
