Manchester City player, Raheem Sterling, scores goal for JCapri writes her name on sneakers

raheem-sterling-photo-1.jpgRaheem Sterling, the Jamaica-born striker who plays for Manchester City, has scored a goal in honour of late dancehall artiste J Capri and has written her name on a pair of his sneakers.

Sterling took to Instagram to pay tribute to J Capri, stating that he scored a goal in her honour.

"Today was for you it was my birthday n I was determined to score for you..such an Angel n a genuine friend. May God be with your family," the post read.

Sterling scored a goal for Manchester City in their Champions League match against Mönchengladbach on Tuesday.

The game ended 4-2 in favour of Manchester City.

In just half an hour, Sterling's Instagram post racked up over 3000 views.

Sterling was born in Jamaica and moved to England at the age of seven.

In July, he completed his move to Manchester City from Liverpool, making him the most expensive English player.

Sterling's 5-year contract is worth L49 million (US$76 million).
