High Times Festival is smoking hot!

world-cannabis-cup.jpgHIGH TIMES, The Jamaican World Cannabis Cup got off to a great start in Negril on Thursday.

Scores of people including dignitaries and media from all over the world gathered at the Long Bay Beach Park for the four day festival. Justice Minister Mark Golding and Tourism Minister Wykeham McNeill are in the resort town for the festivity.

The venue which is a sea of red, green and gold is separated in two sections. One section captures a Rastafarian village with a food court while the other section has a global international flair.

Last night got off to a great start. Some of the outstanding happenings involved music from as far back as the 1960's about the legalization of marijuana which was played by Mutabaruka, Gabre Selassie and Gary I.

Beach yoga, seminars, exhibitions, ital food and a stage showing featuring Tarrus Riley, Luciano, Jah Bouks and others are slated to perform later this evening.
