deejay-red-fox.jpgVeteran deejay Red Fox says fans can expect something different on his next album which he expects to be released in early 2016.

"The album has a lot of live instruments and is more on the musical tip. It's different from the previous ones, not as hardcore as I normally would deliver," said Red Fox.

The set is being produced by Musical Masquerade, a top figure in New York dancehall circles.

Red Fox added that after years of being a leading light on the New York City reggae scene, he wants to appeal to a broader audience.

"I bare in mind that patois (Jamaican dialect) is still something the listeners are learning and I must be conscious of making them understand me more."

His previous albums are As A Matter of Fox for Elektra Records in 1993 and Face The Fox, co-produced by Howie Walker Phillip Smart in 1998.

Red Fox was born in St Andrew but has lived in Brooklyn, New York for 30 years. He initially made his name as an artiste there alongside Shaggy and Barbadian singer Rayvon.

His latest song, a cover of Horace Andy's Skylarking, is done with deejay Screechy Dan. It has topped charts in New York City and South Florida.
