TRINIDAD: Vincentian, 2 locals held in Tobago murder of couple

richard-and-grace-wheeler-couple-killed-in-tobago.jpgThree persons have been detained in connection with the double murder of US-born attorney Richard Wheeler and his Trinidad-born wife, Grace.

One suspect is a national of St Vincent and two are Trinidad and Tobago citizens.

This was revealed at a press briefing by the Tobago Division of the T&T Police Service, held at Scarborough Police Station, Young Street, Scarborough, at 4 p.m on Thursday.

The press conference was led by ACP (Homicide) Vincel Edwards and included ACP (Tobago) Garfield Moore and Senior Superintendent Joanne Archie.

The suspects were arrested on Thursday.

Wheeler, 73, was found hacked to death, while his 67-year-old wife was found with her throat slashed.

The couple lived at Riseland Gardens, Carnbee, where they spent the last 16 years.
