He might not have a race scheduled for the rest of the year, but Usain Bolt showed no signs of slowing down as he partied the night away at Oktoberfest in Munich on Saturday.

The sprint star, who won three gold medals at the World Championships in Beijing last month, announced he would be taking the rest of 2015 off after his success in China.

And with no competitions to prepare for, the colourful Jamaican made his third successive visit to one of Germany's most famous annual celebrations.

Dressed in traditional lederhosen, Bolt was pictured drinking beer out of a German stein and chatting with friends in the Schuetzen Tent.

The 29-year-old also joined one of the traditional folk bands performing at the event and played up to the crowds by pulling off his trademark celebration for the cameras.

Returning to Germany will have brought back happy memories for Bolt, who shattered both the 100m and 200m world records during the 2009 World Championships held in Berlin.

His trip to Europe followed a break to Miami, Florida, where he attended the birthday party of rapper Lil Wayne at a glitzy nightclub.

Bolt was also in London last month as he continued his celebrations after winning a trio of gold medals at the National Stadium in Beijing. The six-times Olympic champion finished first in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay - the fifth time he had won all three sprint titles at a major championships.
