"22 years on NY radio is a milestone and a major accomplishment for us and we plan to celebrate in a big way with our headline reggae and dancehall stars" Bobby Clarke, CEO of Irie Jam radio said.

It was in 1993 that Clarke and his partners met with the top brass of IRIE FM in Ocho Rios. Within months Irie Jam radio was on air in the tri-state area and Clarke and his team were able to mastermind the historic first radio simulcast between Jamaica and New York.

"We are the voice that reports to the community daily on what is happening in Jamaica. So whether it is hard news or information about the the Reggae Boyz, Usain Bolt, Shelly Ann Fraiser-Pryce or the rest of the Jamaican contingent representing Jamaica at the World Games in Beijing we keep our listeners informed. We also support our local businesses, churches, local elections, schools here in the Jamaica Diaspora" he said.
