Four members of a family were shot and killed in Chatam in south Trinidad on Wednesday night, police said.

While they have not given details about the incident, the father of one of those killed, has been on radio providing details.

Patrick Joba has identified them as his daughter Grace Toussaint Baptiste 55, her mother, Lena Toussaint, 75, his grandson, Jeremie Toussaint Baptiste 24, and his son in law Peter Baptiste 59.

"I found the bodies this morning. I had been calling them to attend a prayer meeting for somebody that was killed and I got no answer. I went to their house and I saw the door open and my grandson lying on the ground," he told radio listeners.

He said a threat had earlier been made on the lives of the family. He gave no further details.
