shaggy-x-factor.jpgPeter Dickson, the legendary X Factor live shows voiceover star, only revealed his departure from the programme after 11 years on Tuesday, but the judges already have a replacement in mind.

New addition to the panel Nick Grimshaw has suggested platinum-selling reggae artiste, Shaggy, who is best known for his hits Boombastic, It Wasn't Me and Angel, to fills Peter's shoes and two out of three of his co-judges are on board with the idea.

Talking to Lorraine Kelly on her early-morning ITV show on Wednesday, the BBC Radio 1 host said: 'I thought Shaggy could replace him, I thought that'd be nice don't you think?'

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini offered Nick's proposal her full support and said: 'It's a great idea!'

Fellow new judge Rita Ora was also keen and added: 'Shaggy would be great.'

However, head of the panel Simon Cowell is yet to offer an opinion on Nick's idea.
