According to reports, police executed a search warrant and arrested the artiste around 7:30 pm at the Hilton Trinidad hotel where he was a guest. He was taken to the Port of Spain High Court and appeared before Justice Ricky Rahim.

PEPPERS Entertainment Limited were the Claimants who sought his arrest in order to retrieve the sum of $37,088.

Defence Attorney Fareed Ali representing Busy Signal says a consent order was entered into and the artiste was discharged and allowed to complete his appearance at the Queen's Park Savannah concert around 10:45 pm.

The effect of the consent order meant the debt was admitted and a deposit towards servicing its final total will be paid within a stipulated time.

Busy Signal maintains that he was unaware of this financial debt because his former manager would have entered into business relations on his behalf as agent usually handles his financial affairs.

He had no material knowledge whatsoever of this apparent infraction, as his manager had parted company for some time.

Busy Signal described the entire ordeal as unfortunate.
