Asafa Powell has another sub-10 clocking

asafa-powell-photo-1.jpgFormer world record holder Asafa Powell continued his warm up for the IAAF World Championship in Beijing by delivering another sub-10 time to win the men's 100m at the Spitzen Leichtathletik meet in Luzern, Switzerland.

Powell, who finished second behind Justin Gatlin in his last outing, clocked 9.87 - his sixth sub-10 clocking of the season - to finish ahead of fellow Jamaicans Nesta Carter 10.06s, and Kemar Bailey-Cole who was third in 10.08 seconds.

2011 World champion Yohan Blake, making a return from injury was second in the men's 100m B race in 10.20s. The race was won by former Jamaican athlete Jak Ali Harvey, who now represents Turkey, in 10.15 seconds.

Action in the women's 100m saw Natasha Morrison running 11.17s to finish behind Charonda Williams who clocked 11.14s while Christania Williams was third in her heat in 11.40s.
