20 children arrested at party in Seaview Gardens

arrested.jpgAt least 20 children who were arrested at a party in the St Andrew South area early Sunday morning have been charged.

Police say the operation is part of its national co-ordinated crime reduction strategy.

Commanding officer of police in charge of operation for St Andrew South, Deputy Superintendent Aaron Fletcher says the parents and children were charged and are on bail.

The operation was carried out sometime after 3:00 a.m.

The children were arrested at a party in Seaview Gardens at around 5:00 a.m.

In the meantime, DSP Fletcher says three persons from the Sherlock Crescent area of Duhaney Park, were arrested and charged for illegal possession of firearm.

DSP Fletcher says a woman and her daughter were also arrested and charged at that same venue for breaches of the Child Care and Protection Act.
