Justin Plaschka wins gold for Jamaica

justin-plaschka-wins.jpgJustin Plaschka struck gold for Jamaica Wednesday night in the boys 18 and over 100 meters butterfly event at the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Championships (CCAN) being held in Barbados, to bring the country's medal tally to three after two days of competition.

Plaschka's swam a new Jamaican senior record of 55:25 seconds, to erase the previous mark of 55:56 seconds set last year.

It was his second medal on the night, after he earlier won the silver in the 200 meters freestyle event, where he touched the wall in 1 minute 56. 52 seconds, behind the winner Jemal le Grand of Aruba who won gold in 1 minute 54. 92 seconds.

Jessie Marsh won Jamaica's medal third medal on the night, after he splashed up a bronze in the boy's 13 - 14 100 meters butterfly in a personal best 59:75 seconds. The event was won by Kael Yorke of Trinidad & Tobago's in 57.40 seconds.
