judy-mowatt-groovin-2014.jpgSo nice they had to do it twice, is an apt description of Judy Mowatt's performance last year at Groovin' In The Park and the promoters' decision to bring back the in-demand reggae-turned-gospel singer for this year's staging.

"Based on Sister Judy's outstanding performance last year when she was a guest of Marcia Griffiths and numerous fan requests, we were compelled to extend an invitation to her to return to the Groovin' stage to deliver a full length performance" Christopher Roberts, founder and CEO of Groovin' In The Park said.

YardFlex caught up with the veteran songstress and at her Kingston home and she expressed her delight and honour at being invited again this year.

"It is always a pleasure performing for the New York fans and family and I am looking forward to sharing the the stage with some of my favourite performers - Michael Bolton, Billy Ocean, Morgan Heritage and my brother Stitchie," the former I-Three member stated.

Smiling radiantly, an attribute which Sister Judy says comes from her profoundly deep relationship with the Almighty, the singer noted that she is "feeling blessed" and thanked the promoters for having her on the show this year.

"Promoters are important people in this business of ours and we have to respect them and always ensure that they feel appreciated. Over the decades, I have met promoters along the way who have become like family and I want to say a special shout out to Christopher Roberts and Ras Clem and wish them success on the event," Sister Judy said.

Judy Mowatt will join Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter Michael Bolton, Billy Ocean, Morgan Heritage, Stitchie, Capleton Luciano and Cocoa Tea as confirmed acts at Groovin' in The Park 2015 which unfolds at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, NY on Sunday June 28.judy-mowatt.jpg
