Debby Bissoon, brand manager at the Bob Marley Group of Companies, explained the concept of Record Store Day.

"It is a day that celebrates music, the makers of records and also as a way of giving back to the people, as we offer a discount on records," she said.

She also said the day is dedicated to iconic musicians. "Record Store Day is special because it celebrates the works of some iconic musicians and also proves that people are still interested in the original versions of music and will still buy them to play and collect," she said.

Tuff Gong International is the largest entertainment record distributor in the Caribbean, and has distributed records for Universal, Warner and Destiny.

"We are the only record company in the Caribbean with such an exclusive agreement. We are talking about Bob Marley's Tuff Gong International, and that, in and of itself, sets the Company apart. Records will be sold for 50-70 per cent off their standard rates," Bissoon said.
