According to the airport source, the pilot of the Atlanta-bound aircraft decided to return to the NMIA after detecting a problem with the back right engine.

Not everyone was mad at Luis Suarez for biting Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay's World Cup match against Italy on Tuesday.

One Norwegian man won $916 (or 5,600 Kroner) thanks to Suarez's habit of sinking his teeth into his opponents.

According to Afterposten, Norway's largest newspaper, Thomas Syversen took a chance on the 175-to-1 odds that Suarez would bite someone during the match.

"This is probably the sickest game I've handed in, not to mention the sickest game I've won," Syversen told Afterposten. (The quote was then translated.)

Sick, indeed.

Police said she was later found in the Bull Savannah area of the parish in an unconscious state. She was subsequently taken to hospital where she was admitted in stable condition.

prandelli.jpg
Italy coach Cesare Prandelli and federation president Giancarlo Abete left Italian football rudderless on Tuesday as both announced their resignations after the Azzurri failed to qualify for the last 16 of the World Cup.

Despite Abete claiming he would try to convince Prandelli not to quit his post, the 56-year-old Italy handler was unequivocal.

"I will not go back on my decision," said Prandelli.

Italy crashed out after a 1-0 defeat to Uruguay which left them third in Group D.

Abete said his decision had been made prior to the tournament, which saw Italy fail to reach the second round for the second successive edition.

"I'd already taken this decision prior to the World Cup," said Abete.

"I think we need time to reflect."

A woman suffering from an unknown ailment was taken to a church along Retirement Road on Tuesday for healing, but died before prayers could have been said to save her life.

The 22-year-old woman was taken to the church after being given 'medicine' by an obeah man. However, she died before prayer warriors could have been dispatched to 'rescue' her.

The drama unfolded sometime after 8 a.m.

The administrator explained that the woman had gone to a number of doctors but they could not make her better. It is said that her ailment developed sometime after she gave birth to her daughter and received an injection. She continued that it was then that the deceased woman's baby- father took her to an obeah man for healing.

The police's Corporate Communications Unit is aware of the woman's death and stated that a post-mortem is to be conducted on her.

A 17-year-old female student was kicked from the graduation roster of one of Clarendon's most prominent high schools after a steamy sexually explicit video was released on WhatsApp with the teenager and a taxi operator having wild sex in the trunk of a blue station wagon.

The video, which was released two weeks ago and is going viral, shows the teenager from the well-known educational institution dressed only in a pair of glasses, while the taxi operator was sheathed only in a condom.

It is understood that when she turned up for school two Mondays ago, the video had already been distributed among the students and screened by teachers and ancillary staff, and a 'welcoming party' of jeerers and astonished school administrators anxiously awaited her.

It is reported that the principal later informed the graduating class of 2014 that "Miss movie star won't be graduating" and confessed that she cried after watching the steamy sex act on WhatsApp.

Princeville Plaza could face shutdown

princevill-eplaza-sld.jpg

A major stink is brewing between the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) and the Princeville Plaza Strata over a problematic sewer system, which, the local government authority says, poses a public health hazard.

The KSAC Health Department says that it will be giving the strata a timeline to fix the sewerage problem or face shutdown because of public health concerns.

At Thursday's meeting of the Disaster Preparedness Public Health Committee, Councillor Neville Wright (PNP, Trench Town Division) said that a definitive plan was needed to conclude the Princeville Plaza issue that was creating a serious public health problem.

Everton Baker, the chief public health inspector, outlined to the meeting the background to the Princeville Plaza issue. He said that because the sewerage system at the plaza was at a location below Constant Spring Road, it was unable to collect all the sewage at the plaza. He said that the problem was exacerbated by grease from restaurants in the plaza which is also entering the sewerage system and causing it to overflow into the nearby Retreat Avenue community. He said that the problem had been affecting that community for more than six years.

Baker said that the health department had been working with the strata and had asked its representatives to clear the sewer system periodically as a "stop gap" measure.

As an alternative plan that would be cheaper, the health department had agreed for the strata to lay the pipes in a nearby lane and channel the sewage through the pipes into the Constant Spring Road sewerage system.

Jamaican-born transgender charged with murder

A Jamaican-born transgender child caregiver previously accused of torturing a four-year-old boy to death, has now been charged with murder.

According to the New York Post, news of 27-year-old Kryzie King's upgraded charge of murder comes following a ruling by the New York City Medical Examiner's Office last April, that the death of Myls Dobson - who was found with several burn marks and bruises - was a murder.

"The grand jury has charged this defendant with murder in the second degree," said Manhattan Assistant District Attorney, Nicole Blumberg, before Justice Robert Stolz.

King's homicide indictment was reportedly on hold for months, pending the deceased's autopsy report.

King is also charged with seven counts of felony assault and one count of attempted assault in relation to the death. She now faces 25 years to life in prison.

Information received is that King previously admitted to police that she beat the boy for misbehaving, locking him outside on an 11th-floor patio in his underwear in freezing temperatures for an hour.

According to court papers, King, born Christopher King, told lawmen that she had a sex change at age 18.

The accused is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail on Riker's Island in an infirmary for an undisclosed illness.

A man who cried openly expressing a painful two-day erection, sent tongues wagging at a medical facility recently, where he showed up for treatment.

Reports are that the man grabbed the attention of many in the waiting area at the medical facility where he wept and cried out for help.

It is not clear what triggered the discomfort that the man was experiencing, however, that didn't prevent other patients from speculating.

It was being speculated by many that the man's prolonged erection was a result of an overdose of a sexual enhancement drug.

Meanwhile, Jephthah Ford, another medical doctor, said that in recent times he has seeing similar cases among young males.

"Recently, a young boy had to be admitted to hospital because he had a broken penis because he had taken a sexual enhancement drug. Young men and boys don't need these drugs, these drugs are for older men with erectile problems.

A 16-year-old mentally ill boy had to recently seek medical attention after he was allegedly buggered by a man in Waugh Hill, St Catherine.

The harrowing incident took place on June 2, some time before 5:30 p.m.

The teen's father, a farmer, said he was in his hut when his oldest son came to him with his brother and recounted the horrific ordeal.

"I saw the older one running with the younger one. The younger one was raped in an abandoned building," the father explained.

He said his oldest son told the teenager to take off his pants so that he could see if he had been molested. He said that what he saw was damage done to his son's anus. "I was so frightened," the father said.

The father said that his son had to be rescued by another relative, who claimed to have heard moaning and groaning and who used a piece of board to hit the man off the teenager.

The perpetrator of the heinous act, was known to the community as a troublemaker and at the time of the incident, was set upon and beaten by an angry mob before fleeing the area.

The father claimed that the man was also responsible for robberies and the molestation of animals in that community. Days after the incident it is said that the 16-year-old was taken in for medical attention at a clinic along Slipe Pen Road in Kingston.

Meanwhile, head of the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, Deputy Superintendent Veronica Gilzene, said she was unable to comment on the matter due to its sensitive nature.

A meeting which was initiated over Facebook has resulted in the death of a woman and the arrests of a man and his teenage girlfriend, who have since been slapped with murder and larceny charges.

What started out as a link-up at a house on Molynes Road, St Andrew, turned to an orgy, and as days went by, advanced to murder. This, after the St Andrew Central police turned up at the residence and found the body of a woman, with her hands and feet bound.

Reports said the now deceased met with a friend she knew through Facebook in Half-Way Tree, who invited her to stay at the Molynes Road residence, which is reportedly owned by a man.

According to investigators, other people, including the man and the teenage girl who she also met on Facebook, came to the location, where all the parties would engage in an orgy. It has not been disclosed why the woman was killed; however, investigators are contending that jealously may have been a factor.

Arising from the killing, Trumaine Harman from Nine Miles, St Ann, and a 17-year-old girl from St Catherine were arrested and charged. Both were picked up in St Ann by investigators. Personal items belonging to the deceased woman were found in their possession.

popcaan-2014.jpg
Dancehall superstar Popcaan, who burst on the scene in 2010 on the biggest dancehall tune of the year, Clarks (with Vybz Kartel), is today releasing his debut album Where We Come From.

As Vybz Kartel's protége, the 23-year-old has proven to be one of most talented up-and-coming vocalists in the genre, lending his distinctive voice to an arsenal of hits such as The System, Dream, Ravin and Billboard charting song, Only Man She Want.

With the release of the album, social media have already been abuzz with excitement. Hashtags such as #wwcf #wherewecomefrom #wayup #tr888, have already surfaced.

Though it remains unusual for dancehall artistes to release full length albums, this debut is testament to Popcaan's vision and growth.

With the first single, Everything Nice, being one of the most popular songs presently in Jamaica, and is anticipated to be a hit in the United States and Europe, expectations are already high for the second release, Love Yuh Bad.

Though the album was officially released today, glowing reviews from notable industry magazines including The Fader, Complex, Buzzfeed, Spin, Riddim and Pitchfork, have pre-empted the highly anticipated album.

Where We Come From is executively produced by Dre Skull and features productions from several Jamaican, American and European producers, Jamie 'YVP' Roberts, Anju Blaxx Adde Instrumentals and Dubbel Dutch.

Since his tenure in the industry, Popcaan became the first dancehall artiste since Sean Paul to have his track playlisted on the BBC. He has since piled up millions of YouTube hits, a Billboard Hot 100 hit and high-profile collaborations with Snoop, Pusha T, and Busta Rhymes.

Where We Come From is now available on ITunes, Amazon and all music sites.

Hip-hop's new royal baby was reportedly born just before 10 a.m. at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey, weighing 6 pounds, 5 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches long.

While the rapper, whose real name is Kimberly Denise Jones, has remained tight lipped about the baby's father, previous reports indicate it could be New York-based rapper Mr. Papers.

Dancehall star KipRich has declared that he is ready to close Dancehall Night at Reggae Sumfest 2014 in Montego Bay since fellow artiste I Octane is chickening out from the responsibility.

Speculation as to who should close the show has been playing out in the media recently. Sumfest organisers have asked I-Octane to close the show but he has somewhat declined, claiming that Mr Vegas should do this. Vegas has said that Octane should, however, do this.

"Ah the first mi ever see this in the industry where an artiste is announcing to the world that he doesn't want to close a major reggae show. Mi close Sting two years straight, and Sting ah the most intimidating show on the planet, so mi know mi can do a good job at Sumfest. Mi waan close it, mi ready fi the responsibility so why dem a run from the occasion? How dem a run down bigmanship but when yuh see what it entails, everybody ah run up and down like dem nah no head?" KipRich asked.

He added that he had worked reggae shows all over the world, and usually, artistes allow promoters to decide the running order of a show.

"Whatever time a promoter want you fi work, that's the time artistes should work. Artistes don't work fi please other artistes. Remember as an artiste, yu a work fi please the fans, yu need to give the fans dem a show. Your primary responsibility is to entertain and give them their money's worth, so since when it become about trying to embarrass another artiste or about how yu feel? ... It is always about the fans," an upset KipRich said.

Kiprich, who is a certified crowd-pleaser and a veteran of many reggae-dancehall shows, called on the promoters to use him instead.

"Mi never see dancehall come to this, where artistes ah run from the occasion. Mi close the International Kite Fest the other day and the people dem wait pon me, and mi mek sure mi have a real show fi dem. So why dem a clown out dancehall with argument 'bout dem nuh waan close? How much more demwant Beenie Man and Bounty Killer fi bear? What about the future of the business? Stop hide from the real ting dem and use the media fi confuse the issue. If yu say yu a de big man, and yu work hard for that title, then step forward. Mi ready fi close it, Gourzong, line up de money!"

According to the controversial columnist, the Gullyside deejay should focus on building the library in Cassava Piece before claiming that he build the Alliance.

Mavado's claims were made in a recent interview with a cable station, weeks after news broke that the artiste had collected Drake's money without building a library in Cassava Piece.

"Mavado I see you on my TV las week a mek a likkle talk sey a you build Alliance...which one sir? Cuz is not the one that Bounty is in charge of. Yu caan build wha guh guh deh guh see. Speaking of build...gwaan guh build the community center," Keisha said.

Dancehall/reggae artiste Mr. Vegas has responded to I Octane and his camp in a 13 video which he uploaded on YouTube.com. According to Mr. Vegas his love for music is what led him to criticize I Octane's performance at Reggae Sumfest last year.

"I just think that we cannot promote one brand. If 20 artiste on a festival every body should be promoted equally even the opening act," Mr Vegas said.

According to the Heads High veteran, I Octane was not behaving as if he cared about the music, but rather to prove a point that he was more relevant that his fellow recording artistes.

bounty-killer-mavado-feud-gully-alliance.jpg
According to Bounty Killer's nephew and recording Advance, he respects Mavado, but the accusations made against his uncle and mentor Bounty Killer are unfair.

"I have Respect for Mavado & i have Respect for Bounty Killer, But The Jamaican Public & World Deserves to know the truth. And the Only way to do this is to let the people look and listen, observe and learn for them selves, My First Question Wasn't Mavado blaming the Police for killing his friend in the beginning ? On behalf of My Self, My Uncle Bounty Killer, and the Entire Alliance Camp, I would like to Send Our Deepest Condolences to the Conrad Family, even tho we & the entire music industry have said it before, we don't mind saying it again because life is the most important thing. Now My Question for the Public is What Happened to the Police Officer that he Mavado Said Wanted to Kill Him and accidentally Killed His Friend ?," Advance continued.

"Anyways now after Watching Mavado´s Recent Onstage Interviews, I realize he is basically saying only two things "Respect & Loyalty" and I Quote Respect & Loyalty! ok now lets put that a side for a second and lets tackle the root of the problem ok. So obviously Mavado is Saying he is upset becuz Bounty killer did not send his Condolences, "David Brooks aka Mavada thats a lie, becuz its obvious to the persons in the club and the jamaican public that your upset about a statement that you hear Seh! After headlining Dancehall Night at the 2013 edition of Reggae Sumfest, Dancehall/Reggae star, I-Octane has declined an offer by show organizers to close the show again this year, instead calling on Mr. Vegas, who questioned Sumfest's selection of Octane as the closing act last year, to finish the show.

Last year, after it was announced that I-Octane was closing Dancehall Night, Mr. Vegas became increasingly vocal about the show's line-up.

He openly questioned the show's promotion of the singjay as the closing act. He also questioned why young Reggae artiste Chronixx, performed on International Night 2, suggesting he would have been a better fit for Dancehall Night.

"Honour to Bounty Killer and Beenie Man who have closed Sumfest for many years. Last year, many people were sceptical and thought it was a risky move to make me as a young artiste close the show. The outcome was good and the reviews were good, and despite that, Mr Vegas still had nothing positive to say, and I think he should have been happy that a young youth was stepping out and prospering. If Mr Vegas is performing, I am not closing, I want to perform before him. I am not trying to stop any artiste from performing at the show. But because of what Vegas said last year, I want him to close the show " I-Octane said.

When contacted, Mr Vegas said I-Octane should close the show again, since he sees himself as the next "King of Dancehall".

mr-vegas-yardhype.jpg

"I think 'The King' of last year's Dancehall Night should close this year again. When Beenie Man was King, he did it for years, back to back. My advice is, close it again brother, you put a lot of promotion and hard work into it last year, to show that a you a run the place," Vegas said.

"I just closed Jamming Festival in Colombia last night, and I didn't do a campaign and invite all the media houses to centre the whole festival around me. Everyone that performed, Turbulence, Anthony B, among others, played their part, it did not matter who closed. I have nothing to prove, I just give thanks that my blessings still a come down from God ... artistes need to realise that if you do good music, yuh nuh haffi set torch inna venue. Any fire that blaze up too fast, out quick," Vegas said.

"Spend more time focusing on building a legacy, instead of trying to run the place and claim 'bigmanship'. When the promoter says it's my time, I am ready, not when I say it's my time," Vegas added.

Queen Ifrica says she is 'NOT HOMOPHOBIC'

Reggae singer and deejay, Queen Ifrica, is clearing the air regarding her ongoing contentious association with the gay community.

Queen Ifrica stated that she is not homophobic, insisting instead that she has love for everyone in spite of their beliefs.

"One thing that a lot of people don't know about me is that I love people, regardless of their religious, sexual or any other belief they might have. I just love people in general," she said.

The outspoken artiste has come under increased pressure in recent times because of anti-homosexual lyrics she used while performing at the 2013 Independence Grand Gala in Kingston. As a result she has been banned from performing at several shows, the latest being an event at the Amazura Concert Hall in Queens, New York where she was the headline act.

Meanwhile veteran artiste and producer Tony Rebel supported his colleague saying a lot of people are not aware of the love she has for people, including those of the gay community.

The singjay says this year, he was thinking of performing on International Night in order to promote his reggae songs featured on his new My Journey album. However, he was recently asked by Sumfest's Johnny Gourzong to close the show's Dancehall Night once again, an invitation which he accepted, until he realised that Mr Vegas was also on the line-up.

"When I saw that Mr Vegas will be on the show this year, I decided that he should be the one to close it. Since he was full of big talk last year and ridiculing the festival and the line-up, I want to give him the honour of closing Sumfest and I will stand up and watch his performance, and if he does well, I will walk over and shake his hand," Octane said.

"If Mr Vegas is performing, I am not closing, I want to perform before him. I am not trying to stop any artiste from performing at the show. But because of what Vegas said last year, I want him to close the show," I-Octane said.

Sick, indeed.

prandelli.jpg

The 39-year-old Brooklyn rapper gave birth to her first child Monday, a baby girl she named Royal Reign.

Hip-hop's new royal baby was reportedly born just before 10 a.m. at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey, weighing 6 pounds, 5 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches long.

Mr Vegas Sumfest comments

bounty-killer-mavado-feud-gully-alliance.jpg

Bounty killer of Made about you and your friends came and mash up his party Facts! ,and I Quote hear Seh! . lol jah know star, but anyways even if Bounty had Made such a Statement it is in his right to do so, because it was his party and his lost, same as how it was your right to greave about the lost of your friend, yes life is the most important thing at the end of the day I do agree, and yes a party is just a party, but Mavado thats does not escape the fact of reality that regardless of the circumstances that occurred that night, at the end of the result, the event was destroyed by you Mavado and your friends and yes connie got shot & died by you¨ll behavior & thats the reality. And to top things off didn't Chase Cross immediately started to release diss songs one week after aiming at the general that u claim u have so much respect for and what did u do are say ??? I heard him speaking about Bounty Killers Personality issues, Yes Agree but u know What Mavado, which human-being on this earth is flawless or perfect, "No one" everyone has something about them that someone else does not like even you Mavado, even My Self & thats just life.

"This comment below was made by a fan" #Facts

Mavado too lie..him just playing victim. Him not telling the people that he is the one who is responsible for his own friend death, him and the police kick off and his friend was defending him by baxing the police and lost his life. Mavado also saying killa went to their enemy club but mavado was invited to their same enemy club and did a show there 2years before the shooting.

A Hint for the Gaza Fans Open unnu eyes Mavado is trying remove the Gaza moniker and Replace it with Gully but i can honestly tell you that won't work.

A Big Respect to Dj Khalid for What he have said "Family Don't Fight Family! "Love & Unity Mi Seh! Within The Music.

My Main Reason For Presenting this Statement, is to Provide the Public of jamaica & the World at Large, ( Not Alliance Fans & Not Gully Fans ) The General Public with the Correct information so that they can be there own analysis, Because it is full time we stop from draggin each other down, because this is what this is at the end of the day "Crab inna Barrel" Love and Unity is What we Need within our music, so everyone that agrees pls share a "Love & Unity" Comment and each negativity that there are promoting in our culture, & Our Beautiful Island of Jamaica, Jah Bless to One & all #OneUniversalLove Advance Seh! So Properly Properly Properly," Advance concluded in his long message.

Sick, indeed.

prandelli.jpg

New York: Veteran singer Tony Gregory, who came to prominence with the 1982 international hit single 'Gypsy Girl,' has been added to the impressive lineup for the 2014 installment of Groovin' In The Park on June 29th at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, NY.

Gregory will perform with reggae Queen Marcia and friends - John Holt, Judy Mowatt & Bob Andy - as part of her up coming 50th anniversary celebration at Groovin' In The Park.

"We are absolutely thrilled and honored to have an international superstar like Tony Gregory grace the stage at Groovin In The Park this year," Christopher Roberts, CEO ofGroovin Inc, parent company of 'Groovin' In The Park' said.

Gregory's association with Griffiths dates back to 1964 when they recorded the single "You're Mine." In 1975 he earned his first million selling hit titled "He," from his second album titled "One More Time." Other popular hits from his catalogue include "It's Alright with Me," "For Love of You," "Let's Come Together" and "I Need it Now." His success as an artiste has enabled him to tour the world, sharing stage with luminaries like The Drifters, Chuck Jackson, Dionne Warwick, Ray Charles, Sammy Davis Jr., Sam Cooke and Ben E King.

After living in North America and Germany for many years, Gregory moved back to Jamaica in the late 90s and has since established a publishing company Sunland Music - that concentrates on controlling music copyrights for himself and other composers - as well as an entertainment company, Gregory Entertainment Limited.

Earlier this year he was one of the special friends that Marcia Griffiths invited to perform at her 50th anniversary celebration at the 2014 Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival in Trewlany. Gregory is getting set to release his new album titled "Seasons," the first video of which is now available on YouTube.
