Tommy Lee Sparta has been charged in relation to alleged involvement in the illicit lottery scam.

The Major Organized Crime and Anti- Corruption Task Force, MOCA charged Tommy Lee last Friday, with breaches of the law reform (fraudulent transaction) (special provisions) act. His 4 co accused, including 2 women, have been charged.

Tommy Lee Sparta's attorney Bert Samuels says the entertainer is expected to appear in the half way tree R-M court.

Tommy Lee Sparta is out on 400 thousand dollars bail.

Mr. Samuels says the deejay's bail conditions allow him to perform at shows.

Reports are that on Monday, February 3, members of the New Kingston police were conducting a routine stop and search operation along Knutsford Boulevard, when a motorist was cited for breaching the road traffic act.

Police say the motorist, who did not have a driver's license in his possession gave an identity, which turned out to be fictitious. Further investigations were conducted that resulted in the lottery scam task force being called in to carry out additional probe.

As a result the driver and two occupants of the motor vehicle were detained.

A probe was launched and an operation was conducted at a house in the Kingston 5 area, which is the residence of one of the occupants of the motor vehicle. Police say during a search of the premises, items related to lottery scam activities were detected and seized.

Efforts to get a comment from Tommy Lee Sparta or his management were futile.
