Allegations are that last month the two got into an argument in Frankfield, Clarendon, where his wife lives, when Henry punched her on the left side of her face causing swelling.

"Him tump me inna me face fi get money fi pay him woman rent! I mine him! Everyting him have I give him!" she said.

Henry denied he punched her, but used a tissue to hit her in the face.

When asked by Resident Magistrate Lorna Williams if he does have a girlfriend in the area, a smiling Henry responded, "Yes!"

Up-and-coming dancehall artiste Kingpin has released a song on social media, venting about losing his girlfriend to an alleged bisexual man.

According to the artiste, who uploaded a two minute and 54- second video of himself performing the song in his room, he decided to vent about his experience, because he found it strange that his former spouse would do him such a dishonour.

The song is called She Lef Mi Fi A Battyman, and sees the young deejay spilling his guts in acapella.

"This song is based on a true story. I was involved with this female and it wasn't working out, so we decided to separate.

"A few weeks after, she called me up to find out how I was doing, even though we were no longer involved, and during the conversation we were talking about relationships and she told me what she was experiencing," he said.

According to the artiste, he didn't decide to pen a song about the situation until a close friend of his began to query about his ex-girlfriend. He said this conversation led to several questions being raised about the man who his ex was now dating, questions which left him feeling extremely uncomfortable.

Following last week's Twitter escapade involving dancehall artistes Bounty Killer and Mr Vegas, the controversial and outspoken Mr Vegas has once again added fuel to the fire by alleging that he had a relationship with one of Bounty's ex-girlfriends.

According to Mr Vegas, his relationship with the unnamed female is what caused the breakdown in his friendship with Bounty Killer.

"After that now the man start bun mi out and call me names, all kinda something. It's been going on for years and mi ignore this bredda," he added.

Mr Vegas told Ragashanti that he and Bounty Killer have been at odds for over 13 years during which Bounty Killer blocked him from recording on certain popular rhythms.

"Mi nah look nuh forward, retweet, nor comments, nor likes, mi a tell yu facts. When mi wah record Pull Up mi haffi pay Skatta fi record pon di rhythm. A 77-year-old woman has made a report to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) claiming that she was recently assaulted and beaten at church by her church sister who is a policewoman.

Violet Whyte claimed she is still amazed at what took place and is seeking answers. A representative from INDECOM's Manchester office confirmed that a probe has begun into the alleged incident.

Allegations are that the incident took place on September 14 at The Harry Watch Seventh-day Adventist Church in Manchester, after a heated discussion between Whyte and the policewoman over a teenage girl's decision to wear earrings to church.

The teenager lives with Whyte, who did not object to her wearing the jewellery to church. However, the policewoman is reported to have disapproved and reprimanded the teen.

Whyte reportedly came to the child's defence telling the cop she is almost an adult and is free to make a decision to wear the earrings.

During the heated discourse, Whyte claims she was attacked. "She just came up to me and said 'Old woman, old woman, you can tek lick?" Whyte claimed.

The senior citizen, who reported the incident at the Cottage Police Station in Manchester, further alleged that she was grabbed, hit in the neck and punched in her face and back. "I have my handbag around my shoulder and my Bible in my hand, and I used it to hit her in her head and the Bible dropped," she said.

Whyte said she later realised that her mouth was bleeding. "A man saw and said 'My God, what is this in the churchyard," Whyte claimed.

The elderly woman said she is still surprised she was attacked as she had no idea the dialogue she was having would escalate to that. "I don't know why she did it because she and I never had anything before ... Boi I tell you, I don't know," she said.

Many eyes were glued to American TV station NBC last night as Jamaican singer Tessanne Chin literally blew away the coaches and audience when she auditioned for Emmy Award-winning vocal competition 'The Voice'.

The final performer for the two-hour show, Tessanne, who was accompanied by her husband (Michael Anthony Cuffe Jr.) and father (Richard Chin), spoke about her career and her journey as an artiste prior to her performance. She also saw a video from Jimmy Cliff, who she sang back-up for in the past, wishing her the best of luck in the competition.

Although she said she was nervous as she started singing Pink's Try, the audience stood and within seconds, three of the four coaches (Adam Levine, Ceelo Green and Christina Aguilera) turned their chairs. Blake Shelton, however, was not very far behind.

Rastafarian Selector performs at Gay Party! WTF

shocked.jpg
A video of a Rastafarian selector performing at a gay party has evoked the anger of several viewers on Internet website YouTube and other social media platforms.

The video, 'Toronto Gay Dancehall Queens Having a Good Time on Stage' was posted on YouTube in August. However, it has recently gone viral on various social networking sites and has received more than 11,000 views in less than a week.

In the almost three-minute long video, the mostly male patrons could be seen dancing up a storm to the latest dancehall songs, including QQ's One Drop. They effortlessly performed the dance move.

Passionate

Before 19 seconds into the video, the controversial DJ made his appearance by running on to a stage chasing off patrons. "Hol' on deh! Mi a do sumn yah suh! Sorry deh! Sorry deh," he said while pushing three men off the stage to create enough room.

Clad in créme pants, with grey T-shirt and matching turban, the DJ began jumping to the beat of Konshen's Walk And Whine and yelling, "whoiiiiii!! dis a nuh boring time!!" Fuelling the energy of the gyrating male patrons.

At that point, a particularly passionate male couple took the spotlight grinding on each other with one man on his head top, while his partner held him firmly by the hips 'daggering' him from behind, much to the delight of the other patrons and the spirited ras.

Men dressed in full female apparel made their presence known when Gaza Slim's Independent Ladies blared through the speakers.

The dynamic DJ, feeding off the vibes of the crowd yelled, "Weh all a di independent ladies!!" and the more effeminate patrons could be seen showing their appreciation for the hit song by bussing a whine and strutting to the middle of the dance floor.

As the video concluded, the Ras could be seen jumping on stage and yelling "All who waa party sehh party!! Party mi sehh!!" to cheers of approval from patrons.

Rastaman's efforts

Unlike the patrons in the video who were appreciative of the Rastaman's efforts, some viewers were not as kind. One commented, "I aint mad at nobody in this video but the Rasta. He don't need to be proclaiming that anymore."

Another commented, "Fire, fire, fire, an look pon di style dread. Shame to di Rasta community."

"Mi nuh kno weh mi really ah watch to neck back ... but mi kno one ting ... juss true ah man locks him hair don't mean him ah Rasta. Meck mi tell yuh real Rasta nuh inna dem ting, no time ah tall ...," another user added.

But to the displeasure of some viewers, others were supportive of the Rastaman stating that he was only doing his job.

"The dread in the far background, leave him alone, Rasta community doesn't care, he's dancing with nobody, the man is a MC and doing his work," a user commented.

While another stated, "It's his job to make sure that people having a good time, free country dis!"

From ADIDJA PALMER.

Before I begin to talk about the real issues as to why the police are taking a set on me. I must first say that the Jamaican police are the worst inefficient set of police in the world. Who say they act on intelligence when it is completely the opposite . If roach was killed on Mannings hill road Sunday morning. What kind of intelligence could have led the police to horizon remand centre Sunday at mid day, I have never spoken to roach or anyone associated with him nor do I have any altercation with him. I was laying on my bed on Sunday at about midday when I heard my cell door shaking. It was the police without giving me a reason for the search about to be conducted. They ask me to step out of my cell. During the search a hammer was used to tear apart a section of the wall between my cell and a cell occupied by "zebra". They took two cell phones out of the wall which was immediately claimed by "zebra" as his cell phones. A subsequent search on Monday led to the officers finding a SIM card from said zebra. In the initial search on Sunday the police and a high ranking officer from the department of corrections asked "Shawn storm" and myself if we had a permit for the D.V.D & mp3 to which we replied yes and furnished the documents. We immediately got back the items. On Monday they came back (the police) and told us that they were going to check out the items but we should have our lawyers called them back. This was relayed to us by the woman from M.I.T in that instant , a police called "brooks" took a paper from cell containing instructions .... Instructions to one of my banks saying that I hereby authorize my baby mother to withdraw five thousand pound sterling. Which would then be given to my lawyer for his stamp. G.P Spanish Town , Tamarind Farm, Richmond Farm, and Horizon are institutions where hundreds of inmates accused & sentenced, have permits for various gadgets such as DVD MP3 etc and I like the others have a permit. This is not the first time the police have told lies on me since I've been here and like the last time when four cell phones were "found in my cell", I will be contacting INDECOM . Because mi tired a dem police ya . Police!!! Come off mi back now!! And for once , GO DO REAL POLICE WORK!! Unuh come in like a crosses inna mi life! Mi nuh member bout roach and mi nuh remember bout unuh, A. Palmer.

P.S everybody in the streets knows what took place in the "PARTY" between roach and "DEM" so all a who a use dem police friend to try frame me, remember this..... Unfair game play twice.

contrabands-found-in-kartels-gaol-cell-news-release.jpg

On the 18th day of September 2013 in a news release by the Jamaica Constabulary Force Constabulary Communication Network entitled "contraband found in Kartel's gaol cell" (copy enclosed) stated inter alia that following a search of the jail cell occupied by Adidja Palmer on Sunday the 15th of September 2013 and Monday the 16th day of September 2013 a number of items of contraband were seized from his cell. These include:

  1. A DVD player and an Apple Ipod;
  2. Two (2) cellular phones; and
  3. "A piece of paper containing instructions purportedly written by a popular entertainer".

These items the police release reported were seized in connection to a murder inquiry being conducted following the shooting death of Patrick Samuels otherwise called "Roach".

Following upon our investigations and instructions we are in a position to state:

  1. The DVD and Apple Ipod taken from the cell of Adidja Palmer were being held by him with the full permission and knowledge of the authorities and the Superintendent of the prison (enclosed for your information is document entitled "Horizon Adult Remand Centre Legal Approval by Superintendent");
adidja-palmer-horizon-adult-remand-centre-legal-approval-by-superintendent.jpg

  1. With respect to the (two) 2 telephones reportedly taken from our client's cell, all our investigations reveal that these phones were taken from an adjoining cell. The occupier of that cell has already indicated to the authorities that the phones belong to him; and
  2. The piece of paper mentioned above is, in fact, instructions written by Palmer to a financial institution.

This news release was obviously calculated to prejudice the pending bail application and trial of Mr. Palmer set in the Home Circuit Court for the 18th of November 2013. It contains the obvious implication that by possessing these items of "contraband" Mr. Palmer was in some way connected to the murder of Samuels. We wish to remind that in February 2013 during the process of a bail application for palmer, a Senior Superintendent of Police submitted a statement to the effect that "three (3) phones were found in his cell. This allegation was used in opposition to the bail application and it transpired to have been a fabrication and outright lie. We had written to the Director of Public Prosecutions on the 1st day of July 2013 asking that office to investigate this matter; however, to date we have had no response to this request. I have written to the Commissioner of Police, Commissioner of Corrections, INDECOM requesting an immediate investigation into this matter and to the Director of Public Prosecutions to determine whether or not the news release calculated as it was to prejudice his pending bail hearing and trial presently before the Home Circuit Court amounts to a contempt of court which ought to be prosecuted.

mr-vegas-photo-6.jpg

It was a war of words on social networking site Twitter between dancehall entertainers Bounty Killer and Mr. Vegas last night.

In a nasty twitter spat, the two deejays exchanged some heated words arguing about money, masculinity and their respective careers.

In one of the many tweets, Mr. Vegas said "Let's talk money! How much you got?" Bounty Killa quickly shot back with "Money mek you get so funny, let's talk about dignity, pride and masculinity?"

The war of words went on for what seemed like forever with fans of both deejays taking sides.

The feud between Bounty Killa and Mr. Vegas dates back to the late 90's.

Efforts to get a comment from Bounty Killa and Mr. Vegas proved futile.

Here is some of Mr Vegas responds facebook

Vegas:
Facts: vybes kartel soon drop a rd, the Dj weh deal wid this mongrel the wickedest!

Facts: I care zero what you gonna say next, because mi know say empty barrel Mek the most noise!

Facts: The bank was trying to sell me your unfinished house weh them repossess!

Killa mangroupies come defend unu boss. Him house repossess?

Then Bounty Killer refuted Mr Vegas' claim that his attire was just in keeping with his performance, as he wrote on Twitter: "...Guilt killing him dressing like girl bout 70s look. My father never dress so ever. (If ) a so him father used to dress it's in his blood and DNA." When mi talk bacteria boy fi shut up. Bad Man Nuh Dress Like Girl...!!!" "Money mek yu get so funny let's talk about dignity, pride and masculinity."

In Saint Lucia, local brewers of Guinness, WLBL will also join in the global celebrations with a number of bar promotions and the broadcasting of regional concerts held to celebrate Arthur Day. However it will not end there. On Sunday September 29, 2013 Guinness will host its official "Arthur Guinness Day" concert event featuring a major Jamaican act.

The event will be held at Fond D'or, Dennery and will be headlined by RDX of Jamaica. With steamy dancehall scorchers like "Broad Out", "Kotch" and "Jump" RDX have been ruling the clubs and the streets with their party anthems all summer long.

RDX members are deejay Renegade (Carlton Williams) and Singer Delomar (Andre Bedward). Both artistes first started out in the dancehall reggae business in 2003 as members of a group call "Xsytment" but went on to form their own group "RDX" in 2006. Their big break came in 2007 with the release of one of their big singles "Dance" which celebrated the latest Jamaican dance craze at the time. This was followed by "Everybody dance" which was also a monster hit for them.

Since then, they have stayed in the game with hits like "Daggering," "Turn Your Swag Up," "Bend Ova," and of course "Jump" their highly successful dancehall single.

The "Arthur Guinness Day" concert here will also feature a number of Saint Lucian acts including Alley Cat, General Bakes, Soca Bandit and DYP.

Dancehall artiste Raine Seville has hit back at her ex-boo Bugle in a response to his Nuh Compatible diss track. Seville's song is called Mad Dem and shows the singer stating that her body makes her man comfortable because it is in fact very compatible contrary to what Bugle proclaims.

She also shows her full sexiness in the accompanying music video wearing a beach wear. And from how she looks in this video, we can see why Bugle is still moping over losing that woman.

Bugle already responded to her song in an effort called Shameless, which is already picking up momentum.

On Eddie Murphy's upcoming album, 9, set for release in early 2014, Murphy shelves his trademark goofy laugh for a serious, socially minded hybrid of reggae, R&B and jazz. The music video of the album's first single, Red Light, stars a young girl in a red tank top who walks out of a house after witnessing an argument. At the end of the video, she walks back into the house.

Wearing all black and playing guitar, Murphy shows a somber demeanor. Snoop Lion appears toward the end, adding his reggae flow to the mix. With a series of movie flops behind him, maybe returning to the studio is a wise career move for Murphy.

Reports are that as the Vybz Kartel Murder Trial saga continues, the prosecution is eyeing a move to have the witness statements entered into evidence, if the witnesses fail to appear or continue to refuse to co-operate with the prosecution in the murder trial of Barrington 'Bossie' Burton.

Following reports from earlier this year, the artiste's trial could not proceed because the witnesses were unavailable. This led to the trial being rescheduled to begin May 27.

konz-thumb.jpg
Jamaican dancehall superstar Konshens has made a major power move with the ground breaking launch of his shoe line Konz 876.

With this game-changing move, Konshens will set new standards for the dancehall game because Konz 876 is not a mere endorsement deal for Konshens as he will have equity in the venture and play a key role in all marketing and design decisions. alongside his business partners.

"The plan is to build the first worldwide recognized dancehall brand and we seem to be doing that with the huge amount of pre orders just based on posts from my Instagram and Twitter accounts. Dancehall has for many years been looked at as just a hustle, I want to take brand "dancehall" to the globe and do it in a way where we will benefit outside of just the music," Konshens said in a release.

"Dancehall and Reggae music have the widest range of core fans worldwide and I think the only thing that separates us from other more mainstream genres is the lack of entrepreneurship on our part as artistes. There's so much more we can do to maximize on our potential, influence and pulling power."

subs-pink-photo-1.jpg

Konshens and his business partners, who are already successful businessmen, intend to buck that trend and usher in a new era in dancehall.

The brand's first release will be five different shoes. One is the "Konz Sub" which is a mix of patent leather and leather.

"It's a low top shoe that comes in both black and white and we also offer one for the ladies in pink and white. It has a very edgy but clean classic look There is also the "Gamechanger"" which is a high-top shoe mixed with both leather and blue jeans, a very creative and clean design," Konshens said in a release.

subs-white-photo-1.jpg

There will be two launches in Jamaica, the first in Kingston at The Quad on Friday the 13th and in Montego Bay at Donway Village on the Hip Strip thisSaturday the 14th.

Konz876 will have an office and store in Kingston at 13 West Kings House Roadwhere people can purchase shoes.

The company has also developed a website, www.konz876.com, to facilitate purchases outside of Jamaica. There are also plans for launch parties for the brand all over the world based on the sheer magnitude of Konshens' fan base and his rising popularity worldwide.

"I wore my shoes on a two week worldwide tour recently and Konz876 has been buzzing internationally. This move created a vast amount of interest in the brand, people wanting to know more about it, and they were clamouring to get there hands on a pair ," Konshens said.

There are also plans in the pipeline to tweak the design specs to appeal to certain key demographic segments of the market, in other words...bagga sittn fi Di girls!!!

"On our next batch of shoes,as well as more men's designs we will place more emphasis on the ladies as we have just concluded our market research to see exactly what women want to wear,as their swag changes even more rapidly than ours as men," he said.

tuffy-photo-1.jpg

National footballer Tuffy, is now being hailed as a hero for his extra time goal scored in Tuesday's match against Costa Rica.

They say 'the stone that the builder refuses will be the head cornerstone' and Tuffy definitely proved that parable to be true, following former Jamaican coach Whitmore's arrogant decision to omit the player from the Jamaica football team, despite several pleas from the Jamaican people.

Tuffy now has one goal from one math after several of the team's international strikers failed to hit the target after several matches both local and abroad. Some Jamaicans have this perception that anything that is foreign is better than local, and this may have been one of the reasons why Whitmore opted to ignore a player that had scored the most goals in Jamaican premier league for two consecutive seasons.

For too long Jamaican football has suffered from bias in all levels. At the high school level only some players who represent certain high schools are drafted to represent the national team, and despite the brilliance of some high school players, they will never rise to prominence because they were not matriculated at one of the so called 'hi bred' high schools... Cut that shit out.

It must end. And not everything foreign is better; it took a white man from overseas to give Tuffy a chance to shine. In the same way in which the upper class largely rejected reggae music until foreigners recognized that it was a great genre of music and embraced it. The seasoning from slavery still lingers in the head of several Jamaicans. And it must end.

Big up Tuffy and congrats on your first national goal, Whitmore once again "Good riddance".

Rapper Gucci Mane took toTwitter to claim he slept with Nicki Minaj when she lived in Atlanta in the early stages of her career.

Gucci Mane has never really been known for being tight-lipped. So it's no surprise that the rapper took to Twitter to air out his dirty laundry.

What is shocking is the list of celebrities he threw into the fire. The most outrageous claim being that he slept with Nicki Minaj, and not just on one occasion and not alone.

gucci-mane-tweet.jpg

"Me and waka f--k nikki minaj dats nothing," he tweeted Monday, stating that rapper Waka Flocka Flame got in on the action with the "Starships"rapper. "Nikki minaj can do a trick with her mouth ask waka?"

"May God strike me dead if I ever had sex wit that man #ugliness," Minaj replied in a tweet she later deleted. "He's sick and in dire need of rehab. #Love"

Gucci Mane also included Monica and Keyshia Cole as ladies he's bedded.

Flocka's humorous reply was: 'Kids please don't do drugs @gucci1017 is the perfect outcome lol #IceCreamCone."

The 33-year-old Alabama rapper went on to detail his relationship withMinaj, rehashing how he helped her when she was just starting to make a name for herself in the industry.

"Did I put nikki n 50 dollar room then let her move in," Mane tweeted."Then help her get an apartment im a fool 4 a bubble butt but I hate a--shots fake ho."

A brawl between four women at the burial of a man on Sunday evening, has been met with shock and disgust after the heated scuffle was caught on tape and circulated on numerous social networking sites.

The melee, which took place in St Catherine, was allegedly due to the women fighting over a deceased man in his late 20s, who died in July.

What triggered the fight is unclear, however, a woman said it was the mother of one of the women involved in the fight who allegedly started it.

"The mother rubbed her hand inna har private part and rub it inna di girl face and is from there mi hear it start," she said.

The fight was allegedly between the two girls, one with her mother defending her and the other with a female being identified as either her sister or cousin doing the same.

Following his collaboration with dancehall artiste Mavado, American rapper Papoose has being going hard at other rappers whom he thinks are fake rappers.

kendrick-lamar.jpg

After coming for Kendrick Lamar for his blasphemous claims on 'Control,' Papoose sets his sights on Big Sean, but not for his verse on said song.

big-sean.jpg

When asked during a recent interview with The Breakfast Club about Pap's own 'Control' response, Sean replied, "who?" And, needless to say, it has the Brooklyn MC feeling some type of way. Last night, Kay Slay's sidekick released his own remix to 'First Chain,' on which he looks to cut the G.O.O.D. Music rapper deep.

"Big Sean speak like a woman when he talk/ When he having a seat, he keep his legs crossed," he raps, which is just one of many predictable (yet admittedly funny) insults about his not-so-macho image. Papoose even takes shots at his G.O.O.D. Music familia, again, in similar fashion: "Kanye wore a skirt, what was he tryna prove?"

Papoose - Control Response (Kendrick Lamar Diss Track) Battle Rap HQ

Papoose's 'First Chain' remix is lyrically sound, but it's not like Sean's comment actually warranted an entire diss track. And can someone point out when Papoose was ever relevant in this whole 'Control' conversation anyway? At this point, the rapper who took nine years to release his debut album is sounding dehydrated, not thirsty. Someone get this guy a glass of water. Stat.

Also making a return to the Reggae Boyz outfit are Chris Humphrey and Luton Shelton.

Following the success of his single Nuh Compatible which was hailed as a diss to his ex gf recording artiste Raine Seville, Bugle doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. His new single, 'Shameless', the follow up to 'Nuh Compatible', is already creating a buzz, and unsurprisingly attacks the same person.

Shameless once again teams Bugle with production house UIM Records.

Finding a proper follow-up single to a massive number one single such as Nuh Compatible wasn't a difficult task for the renowned songwriter.

"My ability to write good songs has never changed. I have been writing good songs before I even got the break in 2007. The truth is, I am just mastering my craft and it's not a task for me," Bugle explained.

Even though it was released to radio less than two weeks ago, the feedback to Shameless has been overwhelming.

"The feedback has been great. People really love the song because they can relate to what I'm saying and they are gravitating towards it rapidly," Bugle noted.

Shameless accuses a woman of using her private parts to gain success. However Raine Seville is yet to respond to any of Bugle's songs.

facebook-a-face-in-a-billion.jpg

Facebook says it will expand its facial recognition database to include over 1 billion extra faces as it incorporates users' profile pictures into its database, thereby increasing the scope of its existing, highly controversial technology.

The world's largest social network made the announcement Thursday in an update to its data use policy. Facebook's "Tag Suggest" feature already automatically recognizes "friend" faces in photo uploads to speed up the process of tagging friends, but the new adaptation will also use the facial recognition technology to identify its own users' profile pictures.

"Our goal is to facilitate tagging so that people know when there are photos of them on our service," Erin Egan, Facebook's chief privacy officer, told Reuters, adding that the change would give users better control over their information.

Facebook's existing technology identifies faces automatically by comparing them to previous tagged photographs.

Egan added that there would be an "opt out" feature, meaning that somebody's photograph could be excluded from the facial recognition database.

The practice has already raised regulatory concerns in Europe, meaning Facebook users there will not be affected by the change - it is only for US users. Facebook was persuaded to disable its facial recognition technology across Europe earlier this year, after an investigation by privacy authorities inGermany and Ireland.

"Can I say that we will never use facial recognition technology for any other purposes? Absolutely not," Egan said. "If we decided to use it in different ways we will continue to provide people [with] transparency about that and we will continue to provide control."

facebook.jpg

Critics said that there has also been little attempt in the new update to provide greater clarity as to policies. "The company is also deliberately deleting information about specific privacy controls," noted the New York Times, pointing out that a direct path to the possibility of opting out of endorsing adverts on friends' pages would no longer be on the privacy page.

The old privacy policy informed users: "You can use your privacy settings to limit how your name and profile picture may be associated with commercial, sponsored, or related content (such as a brand you like) served or enhanced by us." However, the changed wording assumes permission for name, profile picture and content to be used in connection with commercial content.

"We are proposing this update as part of a settlement in a court case relating to advertising," Egan said in a statement in regards to changes in commercial use.

While not specifying which court case, it was revealed on Wednesday that Facebook will pay out $20 million in compensation to users who had their personal information shared on the website. Details of users appeared in the "sponsored stories" advertisements without their permission.

Facebook and Google (Google Plus uses similar technology) both insist that they are not participants in any program that allows the US government direct access to their computer servers, and only supply personal information upon specific request and following a review.

The update to Facebook's technology comes as public scrutiny grows of corporate use of private data, and its sharing with governments, following NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden's revelations of mass US electronic surveillance in June. For seven years, the National Security Agency has been using a warrantless web surveillance system, PRISM, with a near-limitless ability to spy on anyone's phone calls, e-mails, video chats, search history and more.

According to the documents leaked by Snowden, Internet giants such as Google, Apple and Facebook have been complicit in the scheme, providing the NSA with access to users' data.

us-police-groups.jpg

WASHINGTON -- A broad coalition of law enforcement officers who have spent the past three decades waging an increasingly militarized drug war that has failed to reduce drug use doesn't want to give up the fight.

Organizations that include sheriffs, narcotics officers and big-city police chiefs slammed Attorney General Eric Holder in a joint letter Friday, expressing "extreme disappointment" at his announcement that the Department of Justice would allowColorado and Washington to implement state laws that legalized recreational marijuana for adults.

If there had been doubt about how meaningful Holder's move was, the fury reflected in the police response eliminates it. The role of law enforcement is traditionally understood to be limited to enforcing laws, but police organizations have become increasingly powerful political actors, and lashed out at Holder for not consulting sufficiently before adopting the new policy.

"It is unacceptable that the Department of Justice did not consult our organizations -- whose members will be directly impacted -- for meaningful input ahead of this important decision," the letter reads. "Our organizations were given notice just thirty minutes before the official announcement was made public and were not given the adequate forum ahead of time to express our concerns with the Department's conclusion on this matter. Simply 'checking the box' by alerting law enforcement officials right before a decision is announced is not enough and certainly does not show an understanding of the value the Federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement partnerships bring to the Department of Justice and the public safety discussion."

The missive was signed by the Major County Sheriffs' Association, the National Sheriffs' Association, the Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the National Narcotic Officers Associations' Coalition, the Major Cities Chiefs Police Association and the Police Executive Research Forum.

Law enforcement, the police groups said, "becomes infinitely harder for our front-line men and women given the Department's position."

The Justice Department declined to respond.

Local law enforcement agencies rely heavily on the drug war for funding. Police departments are often able to keep a large portion of the assets they seize during drug raids, even if charges are never brought. And federal grants for drug war operations make up a sizable portion of local law enforcement funding.

The letter warns that marijuana can cause suicidal thoughts, impairs driving and is a "gateway drug." The missive does not, however, address the failure of law enforcement generally to reduce drug use, even while tripling the number of people behind bars. Instead, the police warn that liberalizing pot laws will lead to an increase in crime.

"The decision will undoubtedly have grave unintended consequences, including a reversal of the declining crime rates that we as law enforcement practitioners have spent more than a decade maintaining," the officers write.

Worse, they warn, more states are likely to follow Washington and Colorado.

"The failure of the Department of Justice to challenge state policies that clearly contradict Federal law is both unacceptable and unprecedented. The failure of the Federal government to act in this matter is an open invitation to other states to legalize marijuana in defiance of federal law," they write.

Several persons have reacted on social media to a photograph of Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Hon.

Roger Clarke purported to show the Minister dancing with a woman at a PNP meeting at the Port Antonio High School on Sunday evening.

The Minister is shown on his toes with his pelvis against the woman's buttocks, holding on to her with onlookers in the background. Comments included: "Dis a wa dem do while the economy a sink", "look like two hog a juk!". Several memes were generated including one comparing the Minister and the lady to two mating cows.

The Dance is now being called The Chicken Back dance, alluding to the fact that the minister recently said Chicken back was on a scarce commodity and that Jamaicans should consider eating oxtail.

Cecile opens up at JACAP Forum

Looking svelte in a black dress pant, her trademark heels and a demure blouse, it was obvious that petite dancehall diva, Ce'cile had traded in her 'bad gyal' persona for a minute , as she took on the important role of ambassador for the Jamaica Association of Composers, Authors and Publishers (JACAP) at that society's Open House Forum held at the Knutsford Court Hotel in New Kingston last Wednesday afternoon.

Clearly passionate about her role, Ce'cile was generous in her praise of the copyright body of which she has been a long-standing member and disclosed that she had benefited tremendously since signing on to the collections agency . The JACAP ambassador left no stones un-turned as she urged her fellow artistes to get their act together and become members of JACAP.

"We always complain about the fact that 'things not going right'... well, here is an organisation that is doing a wonderful job of trying to turn this hustle mentality into a serious business," Ce'cile stated emphatically.

Getting a bit more personal, the 'bad gyal', who recently returned from Europe, where she had performed on major festivals, explained that there are "two Ce'ciles, the local and the foreign". With a hint of sadness, she stated that "the real Ce'cile is not wanted in Jamaica", and as a result she performs her more serious, but equally entertaining songs at festivals such as Rottotom, where she is embraced and respected for her complete repertoire, rather than a sample of salaciousness, slackness and gyrations.

"When I was on my way from Europe, I thought to myself - 'Okay, mi haffi go mek some fool-fool song for Jamaica now' -," Ce'cile admitted, to much laughter from the capacity audience at JACAP's Open House Forum.

The JACAP ambassador ended with a call for her Jamaican audience to really listen to her songs and learn to appreciate the real Ce'cile. "I need to feel that I can perform the same songs at Rottotom and in Jamaica," she said.

Guest speaker at JACAP's Open House Forum was Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Anthony Hylton, who commended JACAP for hosting such a timely forum under the theme, Understanding Copyright and Valuing the Rights of the Creators of Music'. Also present were several members of the music, media and entertainment fraternities including Mikie Bennett, Gussie Clarke, Herbie Miller, Frankie Campbell, Clyde McKenzie, Evon Mullings, Teddy Laidley, Mr. Lexx, Tanice 'Soulchild' Morrison, Derrick '10 Percent' Brown, Brigitte Anderson, George Golding, Francois St. Juste, Joan Hutchinson, Judith Alberga and Adrian St. Louis.

Emcee was Desmond Young, a Board member of JACAP and also the president of the Jamaica Federation of Musicians.

Kinpin loses his woman to a battyman?

"Wey it really a stem from, me carry a girl from country namenow the girl come a town, and mi see sey har head giddy, she a run road, yu see wey mi a sey. Suh him (Bounty Killer) start sleep with the girl, him mussi rent a house and put di girl inna and one a him youth dem pass an see mi a come outa the girl house, but a my girl wey mi carry from country," Mr Vegas told Ragashanti on his talk show, Ragashanti Live.

Mr Vegas claimed that since a member of Bounty's entourage told him (Bounty) about his relationship with the woman, Bounty Killer started questioning the woman about her relationship with him (Mr Vegas).

My brethren Frenchie went to Jamaica with a rhythm. When the man link di artiste (Bounty Killer) di man sey a $250,000 fi record pon the rhythm and if Mr Vegas deh pon it him nah voice, so this is not only word throwing, this is somebody who is trying to stop yu career," Mr Vegas said.

Jamaican Police Beat old woman?

r-emma-winnall.jpg

  1. A DVD player and an Apple Ipod;

  1. The DVD and Apple Ipod taken from the cell of Adidja Palmer were being held by him with the full permission and knowledge of the authorities and the Superintendent of the prison (enclosed for your information is document entitled "Horizon Adult Remand Centre Legal Approval by Superintendent");
adidja-palmer-horizon-adult-remand-centre-legal-approval-by-superintendent.jpg

Mr. Vegas and Bounty Killer war drama on twitter

mr-vegas-photo-6.jpg

The Dj weh style him the most and him cah diss Kartel!

Facts: Beenie man make real hit music, so he is still selling out shows and getting shows worldwide, plus him nuh fight the yute dem.

See you going into every dance, programming the selector dem and anyone weh nuh play yuh song, yuh report dem to the club owner and mash up the youth dem bread!

Facts: Mi si yuh a bawl pon "on stage". a beg the gay people dem fi free yuh up, cause yuh nah get nuh show, yuh nuh have nuh vehicle AND yuh ago stop trouble dem!

Facts: Mi soon need another back up singer!

Facts: The international youth dem not familiar with you, is kartel, Konshens, Idonia, Beenie man, Mavado, RDX, Popcaan, etc etc di yute dem a listen pass the airport!

Facts: bad mind ago kill yuh!

Facts: Every artist weh buss, if dem not a part of your entourage, yuh try kill dem career, but because yuh "shoot up mi pastor and rob the old church" weh mi use to pray inna, yuh cah stop me!
I am blessed!

Facts: Some of your loyalist will bun mi out for this post, but when they leave your presence, they will say "mi nuh like Vegas, but a true him a talk"

On September 26, in several cities around the world glasses will be raised in honour of Arthur Guinness the man who introduced the world to the most famous dark brew.

With a series of movie flops behind him, maybe returning to the studio is a wise career move for Murphy.

konz-thumb.jpg

The fight was allegedly between the two girls, one with her mother defending her and the other with a female being identified as either her sister or cousin doing the same.

papoose-top-of-my-game.jpg

Stat.

"People have been asking for new music and this is the best way I think my fans can get a real taste of the what I'm doing in the studio nowadays, because the writing and recording almost never stops," Assassin tells us from the recording studio in New York.

"I think everyone is going to like how we put together this mixtape and the special touch we added by including the live performances courtesy of Reggae Sumfest," he said.

Assassin left tens of thousands of patrons in lyrical ecstasy on Dancehall Night at Reggae Sumfest.

"Wey it really a stem from, me carry a girl from country namenow the girl come a town, and mi see sey har head giddy, she a run road, yu see wey mi a sey. Mr Vegas claimed that since a member of Bounty's entourage told him (Bounty) about his relationship with the woman, Bounty Killer started questioning the woman about her relationship with him (Mr Vegas).

  1. A DVD player and an Apple Ipod;

  1. The DVD and Apple Ipod taken from the cell of Adidja Palmer were being held by him with the full permission and knowledge of the authorities and the Superintendent of the prison (enclosed for your information is document entitled "Horizon Adult Remand Centre Legal Approval by Superintendent");
adidja-palmer-horizon-adult-remand-centre-legal-approval-by-superintendent.jpg

Mr. Vegas and Bounty Killer war drama on twitter

mr-vegas-photo-6.jpg

The Dj weh style him the most and him cah diss Kartel!

Facts: Beenie man make real hit music, so he is still selling out shows and getting shows worldwide, plus him nuh fight the yute dem.
You on the other hand, get zero dates.
A 10 shows tour, cut short to just 3 shows!

Facts: Mi all retire and come forward come si yuh a campaign a dance every night and still cah find ONE hit song!

Facts: I care zero what you gonna say next, because mi know say empty barrel Mek the most noise!

Facts: The bank was trying to sell me your unfinished house weh them repossess!

Killa mangroupies come defend unu boss. Him house repossess?

Tickets for the event will go on sale as of this week.

Following reports from earlier this year, the artiste's trial could not proceed because the witnesses were unavailable. This led to the trial being rescheduled to begin May 27.

Konshens Changes the Game With Konz Shoes

konz-photo-1.jpg

konz-thumb.jpg

The fight was allegedly between the two girls, one with her mother defending her and the other with a female being identified as either her sister or cousin doing the same.

papoose-top-of-my-game.jpg

Stat.

Assassin has released a new mixtape which is growing in popularity. The artiste was this year featured on Kanye West's Yeezus album and recently worked on a collaboration with Wycliffe Jean. The act, however, says "summer's success isn't over just yet, with the release of the Bombshell Mix Tape."

"People have been asking for new music and this is the best way I think my fans can get a real taste of the what I'm doing in the studio nowadays, because the writing and recording almost never stops," Assassin tells us from the recording studio in New York.

Bombshell Mix Tape's first 18 tracks are singles the artiste recently recorded, including tracks like Shell, Tell Unuh, God Year, Rebellious Nature and more.

"I think everyone is going to like how we put together this mixtape and the special touch we added by including the live performances courtesy of Reggae Sumfest," he said.

Assassin left tens of thousands of patrons in lyrical ecstasy on Dancehall Night at Reggae Sumfest. It was evident that a more mature and seasoned artiste was on stage as he took patrons on an electrifying ride through an impressive sample of his hit singles, barely enough to dent a catalogue that now includes I'm In It. Music lovers can relive Assassin's performance Talk How Mi Feel, Don't Mek Wi Hol' Yuh, Nothing At All and Nah Sell Out were well received.

The Voice is an innovative vocal competition show, which features four stages of try outs. The first begins with the blind audition, then the battle rounds, the knockouts and finally, the live performance shows.

During the blind auditions the decisions from the super star panel of coaches, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera, are based solely on voice and not by looks. The coaches hear the artists perform yet, don't get to see them. If the coaches are impressed by the artists voice, he/she pushes a button to select the artist for his/her team.

Known for her hit singles "Hideaway" and "Messenger" Tessanne Chin and her team Ranch Ent. has confirmed that Tessanne has auditioned for "The Voice".

"With no further details at this time we can only ask that everyone tune in to NBC on Monday, September 23 and support Tessanne during her blind auditions". says Ranch Ent. CEO Orville 'Shaggy' Burrell.

As we look forward to The Voice and watching Tessanne's audition, Tessanne wanted to say Thank You!

"Soooo overwhelmed by all the love and support!!! Makes me wanna cry, thank you so much for all your kind words and for believing in me" says Tessanne

The 27-year-old pop superstar debuted the song - from her upcoming ARTPOP album - at her iTunes Festival concert in London on Sunday night and has now revealed the track's lyrics come from her own racy dreams.

Writing on her Twitter account, Gaga - who is dating actor Taylor Kinney - revealed: "#SexDreams is me talking to two different lovers. One im with in reality, the other in fantasy. (separated by me singing vs. speaking). #SexDreams chorus is that moment when you wake up sweaty from that dream and laugh because you know you got away with something naughty! (sic)"

The song's chorus contains the lyrics "Last night/Damn, you were in my sex dreams/Doing really nasty things/Damn, you were in my sex dreams / Making love in my sex dreams."

Gaga has made her return to the stage following a six-month lay-off as she recuperated from hip surgery in February.

Now the flamboyant singer is back performing she just cannot wait to get back on tour.

She tweeted: "Heading back to America! Looking forward to getting back to rehearsal, more performances of APPLAUSE coming your way soon ... CAN I GO BACK ON TOUR NOW. I promise to be a good girl this time and not break anything. (sic)"
