Flo Rida has sampled Infinity Ink's 'Infinity', and now Diplo is accusing Flo of taking too much inspiration from his much loved bubble butts.

Diplo blasted him on Twitter last night saying Flo Rida's 'Can't Believe It' video is 'ripping off' his 'Butter's Theme' video.

The video from Flo Rida features a host of scantily clad big butt females and is strikingly similar to the video for the Mad Decent boss' track.

Even changing his Twitter display name to 'diplo-rida', he sent an angry tweet to the rapper saying: "yo @official_flo ur a fuck ass fuckboi for ripping off my video."

His tirade didn't stop there as he suggested he would 'egg' Flo Rida's mansion before saying he would fight him in the street even though he would get his 'ass whooped'.

junior-gong.jpg

Damian 'Jr Gong' Marley, blazed on stage, at the recently concluded Sumfest. Marley signaled his intention very early in his performance, staking claim that for the third time in three years he had come to take the number-one position on International Night 2.

Marley used hits such as Set Up Shop and More Justice to bring the Reggae Sumfest crowd to their knees, with their hands suspended in the air, obeying his flag-waving, chanting frenzy. His energy punctuated every beat of his performance as he paraded back and forth on the stage, locks flashing and sweat dripping with every move he made. As if he wasn't already rocking the crowd with songs like Still Searching, Beautiful and others, Jr Gong got patrons even more riled as he brought guest performers Aidonia, Wayne Marshall and Assassin to perform their hit Go Hard, which, needless to say, garnered gun-finger salutes and screams from every direction. He then closed his session by performing his guaranteed crowd-pleaser, Welcome to Jamrock, which had everyone jumping and applauding, signalling that they were fully satisfied with his performance.

miguel.jpg
Miguel was next and his stellar act had patrons convinced that he was the next 'Prince'. Females stood transfixed in the crowd at Reggae Sumfest, because to them he was the sexual healing missing from 2013.

After trying his hand at a little reggae with Stir It Up among a slew of his hits, he resumed his lyrical cajolery with Quickie, proceeding to end his session with his biggest hit, Adorn, which had numerous ladies screaming and quivering from lyrical pleasure.

romain-virgo-photo-2.jpg

Romain Virgo, also gave a good representation of himself. with songs such as Rain Is Falling and Taking You Home. He literally had the patrons eating out of his hands for his entire set as he fed them with timeless music from his growing catalog, he left the stage rewarded with a massive round of applause.

Other acts who delivered notable performances were Chronixx, No-maddz and Chalice.

Bubble Butt is now a billboard hit. The song, which was released earlier this year courtesy of Major Lazer, and features dancehall artiste/dancer Mystic is currently number 67 on Billboard, after making its debut at number 95 a few days ago.

tyga.jpg
Bubble Butt also features American rapper Tyga and pop/reggae artiste Bruno Mars. The song currently has over eight million views on YouTube.com, received over a two-month period.

According to Mystic, she is humbled by the success of her first official song, and she expects the song will go even further up the billboard charts.

Mystic disclosed that the success of the song is a huge confidence booster. She therefore plans to put even more effort into musical projects and also encourages pessimists to pursue their goals at all times.

Mystic's success comes months after news made headlines that the dancer, turned artiste was having family problems and personal issues. Apparently her house is now in order and she is taking her career to the next level.

Billboard has ranked 'Baby Boy', which is a duet with dancehall artiste Sean Paul and pop artiste Beyoncé, as the eight best duet of all time.

A list ranking 100 duets, was released online recently in celebration of Billboard's 55th anniversary. Sean Paul and Beyonce's Baby Boy rose above several classic songs to snatch the position.

Baby Boy was released in 2003 and peaked at number one on the Billboard chart. Sean Paul also achieved Billboard successes with singles like Get Busy which spent three weeks on the chart in 2003, and Temperature which spent a week on the chart in 2006.

The Gimme Di Light deejay is currently featured on another international collaboration called Entertainment. This song features rappers, Juicy J, Nicki Minaj and 2Chainz. An official music video for Entertainment will be filmed and released in coming weeks.

Sean Paul is also looking to release a new album by the end of this year. The artiste disclosed that his upcoming album will feature some works from local producers like Don Corleon, Big Ship records and Chimney Records.

Some popular songs which Sean Paul and Beyoncé edged out for the number eight spot includes Don't Go Breaking My Heart by Elton John and kiki Dee, Islands In The Stream by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, Friends And Lovers by Gloria Loring and Carl Anderson and Up Where We Belong by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes among others.

Mr. Vegas believes the organizers of Reggae Sumfest shouldn't have made I Octane the closing act. According to the Heads High artiste via his facebook page, I Octane is not Jamaica's biggest act. He also jabbed at Chronixx stating that the young artiste should not have been booked for international night, but should have been on dancehall night instead. This is just one of Mr. Vegas' many rants, the dancehall artiste earlier this year called himself the Kanye of dancehall.

Romeich Major and West Indies Chris Gayle will be opening a new nightclub In New Kingston, reports are that they bought Asylum.

The CEO of Romeich Wear, Romeich Records and Romeich Entertainment did not disclose what the name of the new club would be, and without divulging too much information, revealed, "It will be opened next month."

The property, located at 69 Knutsford Boulevard in New Kingston, operated under the Asylum brand for several years as a landmark nightclub in the city. However, the club was transformed and renamed The Building in 2009 when it was taken over by businessman Corey Todd, and his business partner, popular dancehall artiste, Vybz Kartel. However, following the pair's split in 2011, Todd renamed the venue, Club Riddim.

Romeich and Chris Gayle first worked together in a publicised venture in 2011, when Gayle was among an array of elite celebrities who wore Romeich's designs at Smirnoff Dream Weekend. Under his brand, Romeich has also designed interesting and fashionable creations for celebrities like Elephant Man, Mavado, Konshens, Beenie Man, Marlon Samuels, among others.

As for his music label, Romeich Records, he can be credited for the creation of popular dancehall rhythms such as Armagiddion, Grace and Gratitude, Table Fi Table and Bank Ina Pocket.

Additionally, the entrepreneur has organised and promoted events through his company Romeich Entertainment such as Water Worl, One Beer Only and Striptease as well as the Wednesday night bikini boxing and erotic mud wrestling at Taboo Nightclub.

Supreme Court judge Bryan Sykes has turned down the application to accept two witness statements at the murder trial of dancehall artiste Adija 'Vybz Kartel'.

The judge said he was not convinced that the prosecution took enough steps to locate the witnesses.

The 12-member jury is to return to the Home Circuit Court tomorrow.

At that time, the prosecution is expected to offer no further evidence and the judge will then direct the jury to return a formal verdict of not guilty.

Kartel, Lenburgh McDonald and Nigel Thompson were taken into custody for the 2011 shooting murder of the St Catherine businessman, Barrington 'Bossy' Burton.

However Kartel will remain in custody because he has another murder case pending against him.

Ahead of his upcoming third solo album Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life (due out later this year), Stephen Marley recently dropped the single "Bongo Nyah" featuring Damian Marley and Spragga Benz. And, now he's got another high-profile collaboration in "You and Me Attract" which features reggae/dancehall artiste, Busy Signal.

marley.jpgIs that a Kanye influence we hear on the track, Stephen? Kanye's recent album Yeezus was notably influenced by reggae and dancehall, and it appears that the exchange is now working the other way, with Stephen incorporating some pieces of the 808s &Heartbreak Kanye feel into his reggae sound "You and Me Attract."

An Australian man is gaining worldwide attention and followers from America as he claims he's actually Jesus Christ of Nazareth and his girlfriend is Mary Magdalene from the Bible.

"My name is Alan John Miller, and many of my friends call me A.J. The beautiful woman you see with me is Mary Suzanne Luck," he declares on his Divine Truth website. "Just a little over 2,000 years ago, we arrived on the Earth for the first time.

"My name then was Yeshua ben Yosef, or the Jesus of the Bible, the son of Joseph and Mary. Mary's name then was Mary of Magdala, the woman identified in the Bible as Mary Magdalene. Mary was my wife then, and the first person I appeared to after I was crucified."

Miller, 50, is a former information-technology specialist who is also a divorced father of two children.

He says his first marriage fell apart when he began to remember details of his incarnation.

But irrespective of Miller's ex-wife in Australia, he refers to Luck as "my soulmate, and who was actually married to me in the first century, and was pregnant with our daughter when I died."

bridgez-and-bounty-killer.jpg

Dancehall artiste Bridgett Roache popularly known as Bridgez has decided to cut all ties with the Bounty Killer lead Alliance camp.

bridgez-bigger.jpg
"I want my fans and the general public to know that I am no longer a part of the Alliance."

Earlier last year the Take Your Time singer had announced that she was leaving another subsidiary of Alliance called 'Alliance Next Generation' however her former manager Rodney Price aka Bounty Killer took to his twitter immediately to make It clear that the young singer was still a part of the Alliance camp itself; later giving her the title of 'Lady Alliance.'

The former Alliance first lady has declared that her decision to leave the camp was strictly business.

"I don't believe in titles if you're not making an impact to live up to it; so all these titles I got didn't mean much to me. It felt like just talk, an excuse to not put in the real work a manager is to be doing. I will never be ungrateful for the experience I gained while I was in Alliance but the time has come for me to move on. I'm serious about my career and I have spent almost 4 years with this camp however I need a management team that knows how to manage a female artist."

Bridgez also added, "I am a positive person and I don't dwell on negative things so I won't spend my time bashing my former manager. Right now I am focused on getting a better management team, one that can guide my career to success," said Birdgez.

Also in the cards for Bridgez are a number new of recording projects.

"Over the last couple of months I've been very busy in the studios working with various producers like Salim and Chris of Track House Records, ZJ Bruce Lee, and Truckback and couple others and I released a hot new track last month named Winning Wine on Trackhouse's Pandomium Riddim. I've also been busy doing my B.Sc in Business Administration so I took a little break from releasing anything after Take Your Time but I will be giving my fans a lot of new material for the summer."

Supporters of popular dance-hall artiste Gaza Slim and those of Shortie, the girlfriend and babymother of jailed dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel, allegedly clashed outside the Supreme Court recently.

The two camps reportedly had a war of words as they waited on the deejay to make an appearance.

"Nuh dem a come gwan like dem want rush her, then come wid one bag a gyal and a bag a chattings. We nuh business with dem. Di one Shortie she and her false ... and her fren dem," a Gaza Slim supporter said.

A woman claiming to be the sister of Shortie, refuted the claims that Shortie and the female entertainer were involved in an argument. The woman said it was not Shortie's camp who threatened the artiste, adding that it was some other girl whom she declined to point out.

Spanner Banner and his manager, Suzie Q, host of the TV show Video Alley, are getting married, revealed Banner on Irie FM Radio earlier this week.

Banner's announcement comes after months of speculation which began in December of last year when Banner was accused by Suzie Q's then husband Mr Absolute of having an affair with his wife. However, both repeatedly denied these allegations even after Suzie Q and Mr Absolute's divorce.

Tearful former double sprint world champion Tyson Gay said on Sunday he had tested positive for a substance he could not identify and was pulling out of next month's world championships in Moscow.

Gay, who had the year's fastest 100 metres time of 9.75 seconds, told two reporters in a telephone conference call he was notified by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) on Friday that his A sample from an out-of-competition test on May 16 had returned a positive.

"I don't have a sabotage story. I don't have lies...I basically put my trust in someone and I was let down," said Gay, who added he had never knowingly taken a performance-enhancing drug.

"I made a mistake," added the 30-year-old sprinter from his training base in Amsterdam.

"I am pulling out of Monaco (Diamond League meeting on Friday) and the world championships."

Gay, the world 100 and 200 champion in 2007, said he could not divulge the substance or how the positive occurred.

"I am not allowed to talk about those things right now.

"I know exactly what went on, but I can't discuss it right now," he added.

While Asafa, the former fastest man in the world expressed that he was surprised at the finding.

"This result has left me completely devastated in many respects," he said.

President of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association, Dr Warren Blake, refused to comment on the reports, pending the B samples being tested.

"As is the policy, I do not comment on any A sample result," Blake said.

sizzla-kalongi.jpg
Sizzla Kalonji's Solid As A Rock has been sampled by King of Rap music Jay-Z for his new album called Magna Carta Holy Grail.

In an effort called Crown, the song begins with Sizzla singing "They can't keep a good man down, always keep a smile when they want me to frown, keep the vibes and I stood my ground they will never ever take my crown - who Jah bless I say no man curse".

Solid As A Rock is over a decade old, however, its message apparently still resonates in the rap community.

In Jay-Z's version of the song, he constantly repeats 'Crown' as his main hook. However, Sizzla's voice can be heard in the background chanting "They keep fighting me without a cause trying to make my life hard, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords giveth I reward".

jay-z-photo-1.jpg

Magna Carta Holy Grail was certified platinum on the first day of its release courtesy of a lucrative deal Jay-Z inked with Samsung, who bought the first million copies.

"I like music and when people make good music I find it. I don't listen to everything and I don't care to listen to everything and I actually don't want to listen to everything. So, if it makes it to me, that means you are doing something right," Jay Z told the breakfast club in an interview following his album release.

After a whirlwind breakout year, 'concious' music recording artiste, Chronixx and Zinc Fence Redemption band, will hit the Reggae Sumfest stage on Saturday, July 27. The budding Reggae star is slated to perform on the event's coveted International Night 2 alongside International star Miguel, Grammy award winning Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley and crowd pleaser Romain Virgo.

Born Jamar McNaughton, Chronixx was introduced to the music industry from an early age through his musician father. His father's mentorship afforded the youngster the opportunity to observe the behind the scenes work of Norris Man and the legendary Gregory Isaacs. By age 14, Chronixx began producing popular beats while lending his vocals as a back-ground singer for artistes such as Jermaine Edwards and Lutan Fyah.

It was longtime pal and producer at Zincfence Records, Teflon who encouraged the then underground singer to take his vocal talent to the next level and record his own tunes professionally. Together the dynamic duo are best known for releasing the hit singles Warrior, They Don't Know and the chart topper, Behind Curtain.

chronixx-photo-3.jpg
While this will mark the musician's first appearance on the Reggae Sumfest stage, the 20 year old is no stranger to live performances. Over the past year, Chronixx and Zincfence Redemption developed a massive international following, which supported the need for a headlining, mini tour in Europe and a philanthropic stop in Kenya, where the artiste operated as a Peace Ambassador during the country's national elections. The multi-talented singer, songwriter and Zincfence Redemption have also performed at various local events, including Digicel's Bob Marley Birthday tribute show and the Jamaica Epicurean Escape. The group's on stage chemistry would suggest years of acquired experience, but in truth is the result of pure, unadulterated talent.

The promoters of the renowned music festival are particularly excited for the young professional's performance stating, "Reggae Sumfest is very proud of its support of young and upcoming artistes over the years. We have witnessed the development of many artistes. Chronixx while young and upcoming is a bit different as he has already had quite a prolific musical career at such a young age. He is the kind of artiste that we believe will be around for a very long time and will definitely be part of Reggae Sumfest many times in the years to come. We are very pleased to present him this year and look forward to watching him grow and excel even more in the future" said Executive Director of Summerfest Productions, Johnny Gourzong.

chronixx-photo-4.jpg
This star studded line-up this year, will showcase the young and dynamic hit makers emerging today, including Grammy Award winning R&B singer Miguel, Reggae artistes; Damian " Jr Gong " Marley & The Ghetto Youths International Crew, Romain Virgo, Nature, and dynamic performers No-Maddz. Dancehall newcomers Baby Tash and Blade are preparing to wow Sumfest audiences alongside young stars like; Tommy Lee, Popcaan, Aidonia, QQ, RDX and not to mention headliners Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Lady Saw, I-Octane and more.

Reggae Sumfest kicks off with the Beach party on July 21 and continues with Dancehall Night and International Nights 1 and 2, July 25 to 27. The 2013 Sumfest line-up includes a host of other must see performances including international star Miguel. The 2013 staging of Reggae Sumfest is sponsored by Digicel, Red Stripe, Pepsi, Iberostar Hotel and Resorts, Secrets Resorts, IRIE FM, the Gleaner and many more.

Two of the most highly anticipated parties will be Appleton Temptation Isle, more popularly known as ATI, and Dream Weekend and cost about $20,000 for season tickets.

They can get loans from $10,000 to $100,000 with an interest rate of 1.85 per cent each week, Barrett said of the St Andrew-based institution. The loans are secured using appliances as collateral but these must value three times the amount asked for. However, the company isn't always hard and fast with this and may give loans with appliances valued at two-and-a-half times the amount. Salary deductions can also be used for repayment.

Regular loans are given at two per cent.

Borrowers are given three months to repay for amounts less than $60,000. Anything over that figure has up to five months, Barrett said, who was the co-founder of Global Courier Services, the second largest provider of online shopping services before it was bought by its competitor, MailPac, last year.

Also, Sprint adds value to its customers' experience, he said, as they can get discounts from companies that have partnered with them, such as hardware store, Rapid True Value.

The response has been great, Barrett said, and the almost five-month old company has given many such loans with even more enquiries. They are even more popular than loans for home improvement, he said.

Though not being able to name competitors offering such loans, the Jamaica Observer found several unofficial lenders who offer a similar service.

The business is sustainable, he said, when asked if the low rates would be a problem, adding that the company should break even by year's end, if not sooner.

Sprint wants to expand to at least two more locations within a year, eventually setting up shop in most, if not all, parishes.

Jamaica's leading destination weekend series, Appleton Temptation Isle (ATI) is now more. According to sources, title sponsors Appleton has packed its back and left.

The event started out in 2001 as Absolute Temptation Isle with parties such as Stages, Bikini & Shorts, Beach Bum and Crave. By 2008, the party series had grown from about 6,000 patrons to 20,000. With some of the promoters splitting from the series in 2009, there was now competition from Dream Weekend that was formed by some of the former ATI promoters.

Despite the split, ATI was still a staple in Negril during August. However, speculation was rife over the past couple months that the event might not be held because the title sponsor, Appleton, is now sponsor for SPF Weekend, which is also being held during the Independence weekend in Ocho Rios.

appleton-atil-595.jpg

Promoter of ATI, Alex Chin, confirmed that the event will not be held this year. He was however tight lipped about the separation with Appleton.

Two additional series: RumFire Temptation Isle (RTI) in Negril and Rum-Bar Flex Week in Kingston and Portmore are seeking to capitalize on the fall of ATI.

Badmind artiste Tells lie on Kalado's song?

Alliance artiste Kalado is hopping mad that his breakaway single Make Me Feel was banned from daytime radio despite releasing an edited version. According to the artiste, the song was wrongly reported by another dancehall artiste.

The offensive line of the original song says 'come inside with you' which has a double meaning. However Kalado says following conversations with several radio disc jocks he decided to change the controversial line to 'loving time with you', therefore the ban of the new edited version comes as a surprise.

Make Me Feel has been number one on the dancehall top 10 chart in St. Lucia since April and number two on Fiwi Choice Chart. Kalado feels robbed of his opportunity to reap the full benefits of his first elusive dancehall hit.

kalado-photo-2.jpg

Kalado is currently promoting new songs like Bad Inna Bed, Bring Life, PP Bring Life and God Bless Body featuring label mates K Queens. He also hopes to have Make Me Feel reinstated on day time radio.

"I am working on a number of songs that I know will be hits. I also hope they will look into what they have done because this must be a grave mistake. The radio version of the song must have been mistaken for the raw version," he said.

asap-ferg-rocky-shabba.jpg

A$AP Ferg and Asap Rocky have collaborated on a single called, "Shabba. In the song the rappers pay homage to legendary Jamaican dancehall artist Shabba Ranks, invoking the name on the hook.

Ferg's gritty vocals fit perfectly over the beat from Snugsworth of Modern Outfit. Rocky takes the second verse and uses it to brag about his ability to bring in the women, adding "You stuck with a fat hoe, because she wanna stuff her face." Now that sucks.

The rappers also recite some popular lines from Shabba Ranks' 90 hit record Ting A Ling. According to A$AP Rocky and Ferg, they grew up watching Shabba's fashion and celebrity lifestyle and are now able to get women and wear flashy jewellery like the dancehall icon.

shabba.jpg

Shabba Ranks is called the Emperor of Dancehall music and won two consecutive Grammy Awards before giving main-steam music a break. He returned to Jamaica last year and received the welcome of a King, he later headlined Sumfest and gave a thrilling display of why he is called the Emperor.

Shabba's welcome was later marred by selfish comments from Beenie Man who suggested that the welcome might have been paid for. Iconic deejay Ninja Man who was a rival of Shabba in the 90s, ironically came to Shabba's defense and told Beenie Man to give Shabba his credit and stop hating.

Ferg struck pay day with the success of his first single, "Work," which came out back in the fall of 2012. The song picked up steam gradually, and resulted in a monster remix that came out just a couple of months ago. The features on the remix included Trinidad James, French Montana, and Schoolboy Q.

Now it comes time for Ferg to get fans ready for a full-length project, 'Trap Lord.' Does Ferg have a hit on his hands with 'Shabba?' Or will the song pale in comparison to 'Work?' Listen to it below and decide for yourself.

Ninja Man bashes out against Beenie Man for hating on the success of Shabba.

Word on the street is that Dancehall artiste/promoter Flippa Moggla is back in the USA safe and sound.

bounty-killer-elephantman-calab.jpg
Now we know that Bounty Killer and the self proclaimed Flossing King have been at odds since Flippa released a song called Unfinished House, in which he bragged about his money and said Elephant Man and Bounty Killer couldn't finish their huge houses and were paying rent.

"Sey dem rolling deep and dem rolling cheap. Big top man a pay rent wey dem a sleep. Mi see the yellow hair but wey di Jeep," Flippa Moggla said.

Bounty Killer tweeted in April predicting that Flippa would meet his demise with this tweet. However Flippa lives to laugh again because he is back in the states and the warlord is still without a USA visa and would not be able to perform at the BET Awards even if he was called.

Best of luck to both artistes and hope they settle their differences, because Dancehall tun up again.

NEW DELHI--In India, there's no sex without marriage -- literally, according to a new court ruling.

"Any couple who choose to consummate their sexual cravings, then that act becomes a total commitment with adherence to all consequences that may follow," the Madras High Court ruled in a recent palimony case in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.

The meaning is decipherable: In Tamil Nadu, if two single adults have sex, even a one-night stand, the legal system may consider them to be married.

In context, the ruling made sense. The court simply upheld a lower court judgment awarding monthly support to a woman who had lived with a man for several years and had two children with him. The father attempted to skirt financial obligations by asserting that they had never married.

However, in India's rapidly changing sexual landscape, the sweeping and ambiguous judgment could have far-reaching legal consequences.

"Indian society is grappling with sexuality, and patriarchal norms are coming into play," Geeta Ramaseshan, a lawyer who practices in the Madras High Court, told GlobalPost.

India has long had a conservative streak. Families have historically shunned Western-style courtship, preferring instead to pair off their children through arranged marriages.

These days, however, dating and premarital sex are considered normal by a growing portion of the population, yet such relations remain scandalous to many.

All too often, the law is called in.

For instance, police frequently file rape charges against men who have had consensual sex with their girlfriends -- sometimes for years -- if they fail to follow through on their promises to get married.

Video

RAW VIDEO: Flash Flood Rescue

Riots in China's Xinjiang Region Kill Dozens

Using the high court's ruling as precedent, jilted women (and men, too) could claim that vows and registration notwithstanding, the sex itself entitles them to divorce proceedings, Ramaseshan said.

"What this will do, I think, is cause confusion in the trial courts," Ramaseshan said in a telephone interview.

Under Indian law, the judgment could only become a binding precedent in Tamil Nadu, and then only if it is inscribed in the law books. Either way, throughout the country lawyers can cite the Madras High Court to persuade their own state judges to copy its ruling.

At a minimum, legal experts say that it could result in a lot of new litigation.

"It has, in a vast sweep, generalized all kinds of relationships and intimacies that could give rise to a lot of confusion in trial courts," Ramaseshan wrote in The Hindu. "The implication of the court's observations is that if both parties have a casual relationship they would require dissolution of a nonexistent marriage."

For a culture in the throes of a sexual revolution the impact could go beyond the courtroom. As the cases equating consensual sex on an alleged "false promise of marriage" with rape indicate, legal definitions and cultural morays are easily confused.

In one recent case, for instance, Ramaseshan fought to extricate a young woman from a relationship in which her former boyfriend had claimed they were married on the basis of Facebook photos, among other things.

At the same time, by arguing that sex is legally tantamount to marriage, the court inadvertently goes further than protecting women from being exploited or from discouraging young people from getting it on.

It underscores the deplorable premium placed on virginity by India's major religions, and demonstrates the willingness of officials to intrude in intimate matters -- with seemingly arbitrary penalties. As GlobalPost has reported, officials in Madhya Pradesh state allegedly forced young tribal women to undergo pregnancy tests before allowing them to participate in a mass marriage ceremony earlier this month.

And while nobody can deny that millions of Indian women and girls are abused and exploited by their fathers, husbands and boyfriends every day, state paternalism of the type demonstrated by the Madras High Court will prevent these women from seizing power over their own sexuality.

"Over the years we have always tried to outdo our last effort and this year will be no different. After all it's all about our 16th anniversary and for that we have put together a major celebration for patrons which includes a quality entertainment package with some good performers. We are inviting the entire family to come out and enjoy themselves. Parents will get a chance to watch their children having a great time, then later on in the evening it will be all about the live performances for the adults," said Allison.

Bunny Rugs has been a part of Third World for the past 30 years. His powerful vocals have graced some of the the biggest songs of our time and has shaped the history of reggae. Rugs recently released his solo album 'Time.' He will have no problem giving fans songs from his own repertoire and those made famous by Third World.

Hopeton Lewis has not looked back since his first recording at Studio One, becoming one of the key players in the evolution of Jamaica's popular music. In 1970 he won the Festival Song Competition with the hit song, 'Boom Shaka-Laka' which was recorded on the Treasure Isles record label. Dancehall artiste Spice has denied forcing Mansion records' artiste ShakOne out of her collaboration with Mavado on the single called Cheat On Me. According to Spice, she was not told that another artiste was expected to do her part or she would not have agreed to lay her voice on the track.

Spice said she was told by the producers that preparations were made for her to collaborate with Mavado. However, no mention was made of ShakOne.

Spice claims that she has been informed that Mavado does not approve of the song because of her past affiliations.

The Ramping Shop deejay is not happy with the manner in which Mavado chose to handle the situation. She believes the artiste should have communicated with the producers of Cheat On Me before bringing the issue to the media.

"I don't want Mavado to think for one minute that I hijacked the song, because that isn't the case. This is an issue he should be discussing with the relevant production parties and should have handled the situation differently. And even though he's in the streets and online saying things, I'm going to be diplomatic and I'm still gonna support his music and I wish him all the best," Spice said.

mavado-photo-4.jpg
Mavado had last week said he hoped Spice didnt knowingly replace his artiste on the track. Because that would hav e been unfair to the young artiste.

Meanwhile, the producers of the song, RPR Music Productions, in a release last night, apologised to Mavado for what it termed mistakes made.

"RPR Music Productions would like to apologise to Mavado and Spice for mistakes made in the release of the new single Cheat On Me. We sincerely regret the situation and would like to make it clear that no disrespect was intended to anyone, and in fact this is a just a very bad case of miscommunication," the release said.

"Our biggest mistake is that we are somewhat novices and allowed a third party to become involved in securing the necessary documentation. Although we were told that the third party had secured the necessary documentation, that was not the case. It still remains our mistake, however, and for that we are truly sorry."

Dance hall and Reggae session took place at the BET Awards lastnight; leaving everyone helplessly revelling in the moment.

Opening with Dawn Penn's 1994 single YouDon't Love Me (No, No, No), the choreographed Dance Hall session gave audience members a slow-groove-moment that only can be captured with a driving Reggae bassline.

Following her set Chaka Demus and Pliers delivered their hit collaboration Murder She Wrote capturing everyone's full attention. Murder she wrote was also sampled by French Montana and Nicki Minaj two months ago.

Beenie Man came next singing a medley of his own comprising of Who am I, Romie, Girls Dem Sugar, Drinking Rum and Redbull.

He tried hard to prove why he calls himself 'King of the Dancehall' and patrons could be seen singing the line to Sim Simma.

Elephant Man came next with PonDi River, taking everyone to his dance-school, shouting out rappers Busta Rhymes and Ace Hood while Nicki Minaj was seen attempting to do the Pon Di Riva dance move. And she did relatively well with that sexy round ass.

junior-gong.jpg

Baby Boy The 8th Best Duet of All time!

sean-paul-photo-3.jpg

He also jabbed at Chronixx stating that the young artiste should not have been booked for international night, but should have been on dancehall night instead. This is just one of Mr. Vegas' many rants, the dancehall artiste earlier this year called himself the Kanye of dancehall.

View the video clip below.

Featured on the Heart & Soul Rhythm the song has seen a massive increase of over two million views in a matter of days.

In a statement to the media Unga explained, "Over the past couple of days I have been getting a lot of calls and feedback about the song and that's how I became aware of what Rihanna had done... for that I give thanks!

The singer of hits such as Life Goes On and Rolling Stones then went on to imply that it was Mr Absolute's allegations which drove the two lovebirds together.

Jay Z samples Sizzla's song!

sizzla-kalongi.jpg

Tifa's music continues to make inroads on the international scene. Her latest accolade is a nomination for MTV Iggy's Song of the Summer title.

Her video Champion Bubbler, which was featured prominently a few months ago on the MTV Iggy site, is competing for the coveted title along with nine other videos including Bunji Garlin's Differentology.

An excited Tifa told THE STAR that she felt honoured to be nominated for the award.

"It's an honour to be nominated for this MTV Iggy award. It's a really big deal. This song is like the little engine that could and it's one of my favorite songs that I've done. There's much bigger things in store for it," she noted.

Champion Bubbler was produced by Dre Skull for Mix Pack Records. It is featured on the Kling Klang riddim.

Dre Skull is best known for his work on Snoop Lion's Reincarnation album.

The video was shot on location in Kingston last November and directed by Andy Capper.

The singer of hits such as Life Goes On and Rolling Stones then went on to imply that it was Mr Absolute's allegations which drove the two lovebirds together.

Jay Z samples Sizzla's song!

sizzla-kalongi.jpg

Two of the most highly anticipated parties will be Appleton Temptation Isle, more popularly known as ATI, and Dream Weekend and cost about $20,000 for season tickets.

shocked.jpg

Connecticut: This year it will a massive 'Sweet 16' celebration for the annual Merritone Family Fun Day, slated to take place on Sunday, July 14th, 2013 at Lake Quassy, Middlebury, Connecticut. The event, which has built a loyal following over the past decade will provide a musical treat for patrons as foundation artistes Bunny Rugs - lead singer of international acclaimed Third World - will be taking center stage alongside gospel singer Hopeton Lewis and Althea Hewitt from Kingston.

Organizer/founder Conroy Allison is excited about this year's event and is promising that this year's 'Sweet 16' presentation will be something to behold.

After moving to Federal Recording Company, he did a number of popular songs including his hit 'Take It Easy' which started the Rock steady Era. In 1970 he won the Festival Song Competition with the hit song, 'Boom Shaka-Laka' which was recorded on the Treasure Isles record label. With his roots grounded in the church it was not surprising when he went back to his first love and took up the ministry. Lewis' wholesome songs will add to the family friendly event which kicks off at 10am with fun attractions for the kids.

Other performers set to grace the stage will be Althea Hewitt and vocalist Don Minott. Backing band will be the Ruff Stuff band out of New York.

This year's Merritone Family Funday renewal will again feature the Royal Caribbean Bakery Bun & Patty Eating Contests, Kiddies Dance Contest,' Karaoke, the Trans Continental Shippers Treasure Hunt and an exciting Domino Competition, where teams compete for cash prizes. Loyal fans can expect a fabulous time and special treats with non-stop music from Merritone featuring Winston Blake, with special sets by Desu and Road International.
