Two men are now dead following separate motor vehicle accidents along the Old Harbour road recently. 

One of the deceased has been identified as 41-yr-old Michael Melbourne a teacher at the Old Harbour High School. The other man has not been iidentified. 

Reports are that the unidentified man was walking across the thoroughfare when he was struck down by a motorcar which did not stop.

Several residents from the area went to the man's aid, however three persons were mowed down by a Toyota Hiace motor vehicle driven by Melbourne.

Residents then attacked Melbourne who had stopped to provide assistance. Melbourne was chopped and stabbed. Both injured men were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.

As news spread of Mr. Melbourne's death students and friends expressed shock and sorrow on social media following the incident.

It is also being reported that the persons who were mowed down by Melbourne were treated and released.
