The staff of the Montego Bay Cooperative Credit Union, evacuated the building immediately following a mysterious phone call that a bomb had been planted in the building.
General Manager, Ornell Bedasse said someone called to say they had placed a bomb in one of their two branches. The staff and the police were notified immediately and both offices were then evacuated (Sam Sharpe square and Church Street branch).
A special squad was sent in from the Montego Bay Freeport Police and investigations began almost immediately, the ordeal lasted for three hours before the staff was given the all clear signal to return to the building.
Sources from the Montego Bay Freeport police confirmed the incident and informed us that the searches at both locations turned up nothing.
It is now business as usual at the establishment after the false alarm.
