Yet another piece of Jamaica's rich musical legacy, in the form of Tyrone Blake of Merritone Music, has passed on.Called to the higher portals, may his soul rest in peace.The Merritone musical dynasty has been a key witness and participant in the most wonderful story which is the development of Jamaica's popular music culture since the early 1950's. The legendary sound system was established by father Val Blake, and continued through sons Trevor, Winston, Tyrone, Monte and a longstanding and loyal support team, represented by the charming Lorna Bess.Our condolences go out to the entire Merritone Music family in this time of their grief.

FUNERAL: Also, the funeral for Tyrone Blake is set for Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Church of the Transfiguration, Meadowbrook Main, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment follows in the Dovecot Cemetery.
