Residents in the area say that they fear reprisals may take place because of the killing. This they claim against the background of Hodges falling out with the hierarchy of the Clansman gang. At the time of his death the police had a reward of $500,000 for Hodges. He was wanted for several murders in the St Catherine North Division, especially Spanish Town. Hundreds of residents converged in Spanish Town to get a glimpse of the remains. The police had to work very hard to cordon off roads and redirect traffic.
