There are more signs on Monday morning that the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) is finalising preparations for the General Election. RJR News has been informed that the party's Secretariat will on Monday unveil the list of 63 candidates. A JLP insider disclosed that this will be done at a media briefing expected to take place on Monday afternoon. In recent days the party has been completing the selection of candidates most of whom have been presented to their constituencies. Over the weekend several constituency conferences were held across the island, during which other candidates were presented. And the People's National Party says before the end of the week all its candidates for the General Election will be in place. Campaign Director Dr. Peter Phillips gave an update. "Well, we have been presenting our candidates thus far, we have selected all, there are a couple of constituencies that we are reviewing and I expect in the course of this week we would have settled all of those," Dr. Phillips said. Dr. Phillips says the PNP will be busy this week hosting campaign events across the island and presenting its candidates. "They are being unveiled now all across the island. On Wednesday we are going to be doing the Northern Belt, there is a meeting Papine, we are going to St. Ann shortly so we are in the position," Dr. Phillips said.
