For the second day running popular dancehall artiste, Vybz Kartel failed to appear before a Resident Magistrate.
It was highly anticipated that the entertainer would appear in the Corporate Area Criminal Court on Wednesday morning [October 5] for what would have been an early mention of his murder and firearm matter.
Minutes after the start of Wednesday's Court session, the father and son legal team of Tom and Christian Tavares-Finson emerged from the closed door matter with news that their client was denied an opportunity to appear before the magistrate. Mr. Tavares Finson was critical of the way in which the investigation is being handled.
Kartel has been charged with murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of a firearm, arising from the July shooting death of 27-year-old Barrington Burton.
Mr. Burton was shot dead in Gregory Park. St. Catherine.
