J'can sentenced to 98-yrs in Costa Rica for murder

A 37-year old Jamaican man has been sentenced to 98 years in prison in Costa
Rica after being convicted on two counts of murder and one count of attempted
The sentence was handed down on Monday.
Lionel Delphus Perkins who is from Glendevon in Montego Bay, St. James and other
Jamaicans were arrested late last year in connection with the murder of a
university student who was also the daughter of a Costa Rican Ambassador.
Perkins and his cronies were also charged with the death of a judicial police
He was gunned down while trying to apprehend them.
Earlier this year Perkins' co-accused, who included an 18-year old boy, were
sentenced to jail time.
