One woman was killed while three men were wounded in three separate shootingincidents in the St. Catherine North Police Division on Saturday.
The dead woman has been identified as 33-year-old Karen Welch, a cosmetologist
from the Lauriston community.
She was killed in the first incident, which happened about 5:30 pm. It is
reported that Ms Welch was at her business place on the Thompson Pen main road
when gunmen barged in and shot her in the head.
She died on the spot.
The second incident occurred just after 9:00 p.m. when a group of gunmen went to
a bar on Fairfield road, off St. Johns Road and started shooting.
One man was wounded in that incident.
It is suspected that sometime later Saturday night, the same set of gunmen
struck at another bar in the old capital along Cumberland road.
There they shot and wounded two people in the bar.
