Reports are that dancehall artiste Copper Cat was shot dead by gunmen who took his Blackberry, leaving many to wonder if that was the reason for snuffing out the life of such a promising entertainer.
But the truth is, whatever the reason, this senseless act has caused grief unspeakable for so many persons, most of all his adopted father and mentor, Richie Stephens.
Copper Cat whose real name is Demar Graham, was killed on Cassandra Crescent off Waterloo Road in St. Andrew Thursday night.
It is reported that the 22-year-old entertainer was approaching his gate on Cassandra Crescent shortly before 10 o'clock Thursday night when he was pounced on by armed men who shot him several times.
Copper Cat tried to run from his attackers but later collapsed and died right at his gate.
The gunmen reportedly stole his Blackberry phone before escaping.
Several popular entertainers who turned up at the scene expressed shock at the death of the young artiste who they said had a very promising career.
