Dr. Conrad Murray has just pleaded not guilty in the death of Michael Jackson.
According to TMZ, he told the judge, “I am an innocent man, Your Honor.”
The actual charge Murray claims he’s innocent of is involuntary manslaughter. "I definitely plead not guilty,” added Murray.
What’s next? A trial is now set for March 28, and if Murray is convicted, he could face 4 years in prison.
During a preliminary hearing attended by 22 witnesses, prosecutors presented evidence that they say will prove Murray's gross negligence killed Jackson. Murray waited up to an hour to call 911 after realizing Jackson had stopped breathing and did not tell paramedics that that singer had been given propofol, according to testimony.
