Hundreds of fans along with entertainers lit candles, chanted bible verses and brought flowers at a wake in honour of the late Gregory Issacs in London Tuesday night.

Among those paying tribute were singer A. J. Franklin, who described Isaacs as a loved icon whose fans have been hit hard by his passing as he was loved by the people.

Dennis Alcapone, who performed with Isaacs in the early days, remembered the entertainer as one of the sweetest singer to have come out of Jamaica.

Gregory Issacs died on October 25 in London.

He lost his battle with lungs cancer, a year after being diagnosed.

He was 59 years old.

Isaac's funeral service is to be held in North London on November 10 before his body is flown back to Jamaica the following day for burial.
