
The Half Way Tree Transportation Centre in St Andrew was the scene of an ugly stabbing incident yesterday as a male student of the St Andrew College was yesterday attacked and stabbed to death by a group of students.
Police at the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) said 16-year-old Shakeal Nelson, who hails from Golden Spring, was attacked as he stood close to the Half-Way-Tree Transportation Centre.
According to the taxi driver who took the boy to hospital, "the youth was standing close to the bus centre when me hear shouts."
He said when he got to the scene he saw the bleeding boy on the ground and a group of other students running.
"A several stab him get all over him body. All I could do was rush with him," said the driver,.
Police from the KPH Police Post are investigating the matter.
In another incident, a male student from City College was beaten in his head with a piece of metal pipe by other students in the vicinity of the transportation centre.
He was taken to the University Hospital of the West Indies, where he was receiving treatment.
