Stephen Marley prepared to post bail for Buju Banton

Stephen Marley, son of music legend Bob Marley, has reportedly offered to post his South Florida home as bond to get reggae star Buju Banton out of jail.

According to the Tampa Tribune newspaper, Buju's attorney Tuesday notified a Florida Court of the offer.

The property is valued at US$350,000.

The newspaper says outstanding matters relating to bail granted to the entertainer, whose given name is Mark Myrie, will be heard today in court.

Stephen Marley is a Grammy winner who beat Buju for best reggae album this year.

As a non-citizen of the United States, the Immigration Court will have to decide if Buju can remain in the US as an undocumented resident since his visa was revoked at the time of his arrest.
