One of the three charges against Jamaica and West Indies fast bowler Jerome Taylor, 25, has been dropped.

Taylor who appeared in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court in St. Elizabeth on Tuesday is scheduled to reappear on December 16 to answer the remaining charges.

The charge of improper conduct has been dropped.

He is still charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

The charges stemmed from an incident at a bar in Bull Savannah, St. Elizabeth, on December 31 last year.

Police officers went to the establishment to enquire about its licence and its closing time.

Mr. Taylor, who was a patron at the bar, reportedly became boisterous and when spoken to, he assaulted a Police Sergeant who tried to arrest him.

In court on Tuesday, after an application by defence attorney Velma Hylton QC and consultation with the prosecution, the charge of improper conduct was withdrawn.
