Met Office lifts Flash Flood Warning

The Met Service has discontinued the Flash Flood Warning for low-lying and flood-prone areas of all parishes with immediate effect.

The broad area of Low Pressure over the central Caribbean has drifted northward, thereby reducing influence over Jamaica.

The forecast is for a gradual improvement in weather conditions across the island as this system continues northward.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms are tonight.

A Tropical Wave currently across the eastern Caribbean is, however, expected to enter the central Caribbean and move across Jamaica late Tuesday evening.

This is likely to produce another increase in rainfall across the country.

As this Tropical Wave drifts westward, there is chance of cyclone development west of the island.
