As the 2010 – 2011 school year kicks into full gear, the Bob Marley Foundation continues to support the educational needs of rural and inner city youths.

’Marley for Education’ the educational project funded by the Bob Marley Foundation has already paid out grants and awarded full and partial scholarships to students from inner city communities in Kingston & St. Catherine. The Foundation has assisted with their tuition fees, auxiliary fees, books and uniforms.

Mrs. Jacqueline Lynch – Stewart, the General Manager of The Bob Marley Foundation noted that “We are pleased to be able to perpetuate Bob’s legacy through the assistance provided to these students by his Foundation.”

In his childhood, the Hon. Robert Nesta Marley, O.M. attended Stepney Primary and Junior High which is located on the outskirts of his hometown, Nine Mile, St. Ann.

The Bob Marley Foundation’s main mandate is to keep the name, image and legacy of the Hon. Robert Nesta Marley O.M. alive and to continue the caring, loving and giving spirit of this great Jamaican Reggae Music Legend.
