Elderly man added to storm death toll

The death toll from heavy rains associated with Tropical Storm Nicole, has increased to 13.

A fourteenth person is still missing, and is believed to be from the family of six, whose house collapsed in the Sandy Gully in St. Andrew, on Wednesday.

According to the Constabulary Communications Network, the latest body was found in the Toms River, in St. Andrew, Friday.

It has been identified as that of 61-year-old Winston Samuels, of Peter Hill.

Reports from the Lawrence Tavern Police are that, on Wednesday, Mr. Samuels was walking along a bridge, when he was swept away by flood waters.

Four bodies from one family were also discovered at different locations in Kingston, Friday afternoon.

The other deaths occurred in St. Elizabeth, St. Andrew, St. Catherine and Westmoreland.

Five children are listed among the victims.
