Buju's latest album doing well

International Reggae singer Buju Banton, whose real name is Mark Myrie, has managed to garner much publicity from his high profile cocaine trial ahead of the released of his latest album Before the Dawn.

The album hit stores last Tuesday and debuted at the number two spot on the United States iTunes Reggae Chart.

The album is second to Bob Marley's Legend album.

An expert in album sales says Buju's ninth album could reach the number one spot next week, as sales are projected to pick up when the album drops in the United Kingdom and Japan.

After his trial last week, Buju said that his album was written before he found himself in his current situation.

He said all his songs speak profoundly to what he is going through right now.

He ended his statement by saying "you might can lock the flesh but you can never lock the spirit of rasta".
