Mavado presents Stulla Wednesdays

With the plethora of nightly events around Kingston, Dancehall artiste Mavado feels that there is still something lacking.

As he prepares to launch his Guiness Stulla Wednesdays event inside the New Quad this week, he is confident that gap will be filled.

Guiness Stulla Wednesdays is taking partying to its roots, as an authentic Dancehall event in the fine tradition of Cactus, House of Leo and Mirage.

Since dropping the scorching "Stulla" single, the Stulla slang has spread like wildfire through the streets, with even ladies flipping it to call themselves "Stulliesha." The slang has been a topic of conversation all around town as everyone tags their own meaning to it.

"It seemed like the perfect name for the weekly event," explains Mavado. "Because its so fresh and full of energy! Its a cutting edge event that will redefine entertainment in Kingston."

Asked why he chose to partner up with the New Quad, Mavado said his manager and the new operators of the popular nightspot had been discussing it for some time.

"Its the ideal place for everyone to come and party," he explains.

"Its a club that is central and everyone is familiar with and knows is 100% safe.

Its a modern environment with several floors and Stulla Wednesdays will be catering to everyone. We can party right through without disturbance. We have hand-picked the best selectors every week so everybody will be happy."

With that in mind, ace selector Tony Matterhorn, Boom Boom and FAME FM's Arif "Supa" Cooper will be providing the musical highs.
