
The Seismic Unit at the University of the West Indies has confirmed that an earthquake was felt in sections of Jamaica about 3:56 Wednesday afternoon.
Persons in St. Mary, Portland, St. Thomas and Kingston and St. Andrew reported feeling the tremor.
The magnitude of the earthquake or its location is not clear as the Earthquake Unit says it is still deciphering the information.
The epicenter was located near Chestervale in St. Andrew with a magnitude of 3.7 and a focal depth of 9.9 kilometres.
