The community where DJ Vybz Kartel is frequently referring to in his songs was under the spotlight recently. Teh Constant Spring Police found a quantity of ammunition off Mannings Hill Road in St Andrew last week.

According to Deputy Superintendent Altermoth 'Parro' Campbell, crime chief for the St Andrew North police Kartel was not present at the time of the seizure.

According to police reports, about 4:40 a.m., police on patrol in the area saw a group of men exiting the premises.

Their actions reportedly aroused the suspicions of the lawmen.

The police tried to accost the men but they ran, leaving behind a bag containing two M-16 magazines, each loaded with thirty 5.56 cartridges.

The police are continuing their investigations but say the identity of the men who fled the scene are not known.

The premises was also raided earlier this week and a number of men were taken into custody. They were, however, subsequently released.

Well Dance hall patrons don't be alarmed, by now you should know that when you buy many of today's dance hall artist records and attend their shows you are directly or indirectly supporting crime."DJ's"like Kartel,Movado,Ninja Man and others have openly advocated violence in their songs,and in addition have formed gangs in the communities from which they hail,gangs which partially depends on their finances to purchase weapons,ammunition's and motor vehicles to carry out their criminal activities.There are good DJ's out there who are witty and have fairly decent lyrics we need to put our support behind these guys and step away from criminals with microphones.A dat mi seh.

Jamaica security forces are inept. Forensic should be conducted on the magazines and bag. The very least the premises should be treated as a crime scene and shut down until the forensic audit is concluded and investigation is completed. Kartel is just bad news.
