Meeting Held to Ease Gully Gaza Tension

Minister with responsibility for information, Daryl Vaz has emphasized government's responsibility to intervene in the situation created by the Gully Gaza controversy which has resulted in tension between the fans of dancehall artistes Movado and Vybz Kartel.


Minister Vaz along with Minister of Education, Andrew Holness, Security Minister Dwight Nelson, representatives of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sports, head of the Peace Management Initiative, Hero Blaire, the National Transformation Programme, Rev Al Miller and others met at Jamaica House with dancehall artistes Movado and Vibes Kartel. Minister Vaz outlined the initiatives which were agreed on at this morning's meeting.


Dancehall artistes Movado and Vybz Kartel have made it clear that they are no enemies and it's just about the music.

    i wish that this new development between these two artistes would be broadcasted in a broader way like all over the Caribbean via all available media because they and Jamaica as a whole has not realised the great influence their music has on the youths of the other Caribbean territories like St.Lucia who has fans of both sides acting the very same way that the ones in Jamaica act.
