seankingston_bujubanton_jrsexygirlsbeyonce.jpgThey want Sean Kingston's mega hit "Beautiful Girl" to be cut from radio play lists! Yes, Joan Murphy, chairman of the New Mexico Suicide Prevention Coalition, while addressing reporters, protested that, "Record companies that promote artists whose message is that suicide is an acceptable solution to problems, don't help reduce the incidence of suicide anywhere. Radio stations have a responsibility to be sensitive to this issue."

A member of staff at the state Department of Health said local radio stations were e-mailed letters reminding them of the dangers of glorifying suicide in song. "I haven't received any response," Murphy said Monday, a week after the letters were sent out.

"Beautiful Girls" reached the No. 2 spot on the national Top 40 play list. It has dropped in popularity but is still in the top 10, said Justin Riley, program director at KKOB-FM (93.3).

The National Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago was recently packed 9000 strong with Marley fans who basked in the rhythms of the talented, Damian "Junior Gong" Marley and Stephen "Ragga" Marley at Summerfest. Also featuring Trinidad and Tobago based acts such as Royal Dainties, Jah Melody, King David, Orange Sky and DJs the Lion Twins, the show was a massive success, in the opinion of promoter, Roy Maharaj.

Damian started with "Confrontation", the first song on his album then moved into "Justice" then was joined by his brother Stephen for "Traffic Jam" followed by "Pimpers Paradise". Singing along and just thrilled to the bone, the maximum capacity crowd, especially those in the all inclusive VIP section were served up a healthy dose of Marley music.

Crowning2020.jpgMiss Jamaica World, Yendi Phillips, will represent the island at the Miss World Pageant in Shanghai, China on December 1. She was crowned at last Saturday's staging before a capacity crowd that seemed to be all hers and without a question; she totally dominated the contests. Phillips was the Most Aware, got the highest votes from the public and won three of the four mini-competitions. The mini-competitions were comprised of, the talent competition, the Supreme Ventures Miss Jamaica World (MJW) Sport and the Ting MJW Beach Beauty titles.

Speaking to reporters after her landslide victory, she said, "I'm not a negative thinker. I'm all about positivity. I believe you focus on what you want and only that and not allow anything else to get to you to break your train of thought. So my focus wasn't, maybe I can't win, my focus was that I want this."

At this stage, the Santa Monica Police Department's Calls For Service report, obtained by news show Extra - outlined the reason for the emergency 911 call to Wilson's address as an "attempted suicide".
Wilson did not address the controversy in a statement he released on Monday: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."

Approximately 50 gays protested the annual Reggae Carifest held this Saturday in New York because Buju Banton and Bounty Killer were billed for the show. The City Parks Department said in a statement prior to the event that all performers signed a code of conduct agreeing to refrain from performing anti-gay lyrics, at the promoter’s request.

As a result of the pressure from the gay rights activist, Power 105.1, owned by radio giant Clear Channel Communications Inc. withdrew their sponsorship from the show. Glaad said in a statement that, "It is unacceptable for Clear Channel, the concert promoters,
and the other sponsors to provide these performers with a platform to promote messages that put lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people in harm's way."

Roots Cause Entertainment and Earth Strong Production have broken Dub Poetry into the mainstream with a Word, Sound and Power poetry series set to air on BETJ from October to December. "It's a poetry series with emphasis on dub poetry. It's an artistic force of uniting the African oral tradition of rhythmic dub poetry and the literal art form of spoken word," explains Aranthes Lewin, executive producer.

The first three series were recently recorded at Boone Hall in Stony Hill. It was hosted by M-1 of Dead Prez and featured some of the best dub poets in Jamaica and headliners from the Def Poetry Jam circuit. Lewin continues, "We are giving Dub Poetry its own platform. Mutaburuka, Oku Onuru, and Lynton Kwesi Johnson, have been doing it for years. Word, Sound, Power is something that has never been done, and will premiere the first week of October."

campell.jpg"Wi likkle but wi tallawah" can be paraphrased to the majestic achievement of Veronica Campbell in winning the World Athletics Championship 100 metres gold medal on Monday, in Osaka, Japan, as; “although Jamaica is small geographically and has a population not exceeding 2.8 million people , our accomplishments in Track and Field on the world stage is not only phenomenal but without a doubt incomparable.”

Yardflex fans at home and abroad are still celebrating the quintessential exploits of the girl from the Parish of Trelawny who re-wrote the history books by winning the event in 11.01 seconds, in a blanket finish with the American pair of Lauryn Williams who incidentally is the Defending World Champion and Carmelita Jeter 11.01 and 11.02 seconds respectively.

brian_mcknight_sm.jpg"The Port Royal Music Festival is a festival that seeks to please its audience with eternal music," says Neville Blythe. As Chairman of Paradise Communications, organizers of the September 7 – 9 CVM TV Port Royal Music Festival, Blythe is busy and excited about the upcoming venture. Slated to be held at the Port Royal Entertainment Center and the Mariner at Morgans Harbour Hotel, this second staging will feature timeless experiences. One main highlight will be the highly anticipated appearance of Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum recording artiste Brian McKnight.

Confirmed as one of the stellar musicians scheduled to perform over the 3 day festival, McKnight’s smooth voice and vintage vibe will not only take adults back in time with his many soulful ballads, but also entice teenagers with massive rhythmic melodies. His hits such as "The Way Love Goes," "Goodbye My Love," "Still" and "Used To Be My Girl," continually mesmerize audiences globally and Jamaica will have its turn to be thrilled by McKnight in September.

Jamaica's under 19 Cricketers are back home after successful tournaments in St. Kitts. The TCL/West Indies Under 19 Three Day and the Limited (50) Overs competitions were entered into with confidence by Jamaica’s team.

The Andre Coley coached Jamaicans finished a respectable second in the three day format of the game, which was eventually won by Guyana.

However, the fortunes of the young Jamaicans changed during the One Day Competition when some flashes of brilliance with the bat, from: Shakoya Thomas, Derval Green (Captain), Horace Miller, Christie Jones, Nkruma Bonner and Andre Creary and with the ball, from: Jason Dawes along with Jamie Merchant helped facilitated the outdoing of their opponents to cap a scintillating run over five games.

Soul Klap Records Building A New Vision

Kevin B & More 008.jpgSoul Klap Records is breaking into the Reggae industry in Jamaica with an ammunition full of experience from time spent at Universal Canada. CEO Kevin Barton, plans on using some of the same ideas that created one of the largest urban music departments in North America for Universal Records.

Moving back to Jamaica was an opportunity to take a break from music. The VP of Marketing for Cable & Wireless offered him a position in the company as Head of Mobile Marketing lining him up to work with clients like, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Prodigal Son, Busy Signal, Kiprich, Wayne Marshall, and others. As a result, a break from music never manifested itself, but instead gave way to a new business initiative for the Caribbean.

Barton refers to the music industry in Jamaica as being very young, "It reminds me of Toronto five years ago. The industry was full of talent but lacked business people, managers, booking agents, real established labels, licensors and publicists – it was just very young. More people have to get involved, not everyone can be an artist to move the industry forward."

Spoken of so eloquently by loved ones and in a beautifully executed remembrance piece by his cousin, Tafari Burns, Craig passed away on August 3, 2007 in a motorcycle accident. Today, he was laid out in a uniquely designed casket that had baby blue accents and a portrait of Craig painted on it. Laying there as if in the blue sky, Craig was kissed, touched, cried over and viewed by a crowd that has been waiting for Hurricane Dean to pass, in order to pay their last respects.

marcus garvey 1.jpgMarcus Garvey, father of panafricanism, is being honored throughout the world, celebrating his 120th birthday. In 1962, Jamaica gave him the distinction of being a National Hero in conjunction with world wide acknowledgement of his accomplishments through the work done under the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA).

The impact of Garvey's work laid the foundation for leadership throughout the world which gave birth to greats like Kwame N'krumah, Malcolm X, Kwame Toure, Angela Davis, Martin Luther King, Connie Tucker, Mukasa Dada, Rose Sanders and others.

Garvey's unique ability to build an organization on every continent with millions of people has been difficult to duplicate by other leaders. He instilled values and principles that taught African people that they are powerless until they identify and empower themselves in Africa and where ever African people may be, at home and abroad.

According to Garvey, "If 400,000,000 Negroes can only get to know themselves, to know that in them is a sovereign power, is an authority that is absolute, then in the next twenty-four hours we would have a new race, we would have a nation, an empire, - resurrected, not from the will of others to see us rise, - but from our own determination to rise, irrespective of what the world thinks."

Elliot has advised the publishing house concerned to retract the story or put themselves in the line of fire for a Defamation of Character Lawsuit against them.

After weeks of doing rounds on the Jamaican circuit she is set to leave the island for Miami to scout video locations for the "Paddy Cake" video. Released recently, "Paddy Cake" is a fun, jazzy single done in combination with Beenie Man. "It will be a totally fun video, you can't put it into a genre. There will definitely be something for everyone," the sultry singer shared.

Scheduled to be shot under the direction of Scuba (director of videos for Young Jeezy and Fabulous), there is high anticipation on the outcome. "I will be on my head top doing the "Paddy Cake" dance," Barbee promised. Of course video compilers are hinting at some steamy scenes with the King of The Dancehall.

Seeming to rise up onto the scene out of nowhere overnight and shrouded in the midst of deep controversy, Barbee's name has been on everyone's lips most recently, but she is definitely much more than all that. Blessed with a beautiful voice, a very sexy figure and a heart of gold this very tall, forceful female artiste is out to make her mark in a positive light on the entertainment scene.

Tony rbel.jpg"Mi lef it gi dem an dem still couldn't manage it." These are words from track number 17 of the song, "Gun Dogs and Pusses" on Tony Rebels latest album I Rebel. Maybe you have heard it said about albums so many times before, but there is no way I can avoid saying that this album is a classic.

The declaration on track 17 is not just one coming from 'a singer with a dying career who's seeking life through controversy' – it is definitely for real! This is one for the ages.
Let's start with the melodies accompanying each song. Pardon me Mr. Rebel, I know you appreciate your own identity, but the musical compositions on your album made me think, wow! This sounds like music that would come from Dennis Brown!

There are 20 tracks on the album, and none is of inferior quality. The production addresses humanity and issues which are most important to existence. Love, hate, trust, self actualization, religion, history and political issues are at the forefront of "the rebels" lyrical drive.

don imus.jpgal_sharpton2.jpgDon Imus, the radio broadcaster who was axed from CBS Radio earlier this year after he called members of a mostly black Rutgers University Women's Basketball team, "nappy-headed hos" on his radio show, "Imus in the Morning," is planning a comeback after reaching a settlement over his multi-million dollar contract with the station. Previously, he threatened to sue CBS for $120 million in a breach-of-contract lawsuit, but both parties reached an agreement on Tuesday August 14.

The terms of the settlement reached Wednesday, August 15 with former employee CBS, is for $20 million and it leaves Imus a free agent.

To date, Imus has been talking with rivals WABC-AM radio to resume his broadcasting career and there are rumors of him possibly going over to ABC, Clear Channel or XM and Sirius satellite radio.

Beenieman-d'angel-marco-dean-SexyGirls-beyonce.jpgBeenie Man and an entourage of men from 357 Entertainment stormed into D'Angel's office in New Kinston on Tuesday, taking her furniture and dismantling the office. Almost every media house was present including business people from the area witnessing this event. A van and a truckload of furniture could be seen trying to leave the premises, however D'Angel arrived in-time and blocked the drive way with her car.

A close source of Yard Flex told us that the furniture belonged to D'Angel and that she had been making the payments at Courts from the beginning. Unfortunately, Beenie Man was not able to leave with any of the furniture because her lawyer arrived with an affidavit to stop him. He was attempting to take two computers, a living room set, two desks, two chairs, and a TV.

jah cure meets yardflex.jpgJah Cure's first performance since his release from prison on July 28, 2007 has left a lasting impression on his European fans. On Sunday August 12 at the Reggae Sundance Festival in Eindhoven, Holland, Jah Cure performed in front of 20,000 persons who were longing for that day. Irie FM's Elise Kelly gave a graphic report of this moment that she called absolutely phenomenal.

Kelly, who was present for most of the Reggae Sundance performances, lauded praises on all the "Masters of Their Craft" who gave brilliant presentations to the massive European audiences. Besides what is now termed as the historic crowd reception for Jah Cure, patrons were said to be highly engaged and enthusiastic throughout. Performances by reggae giants like, Bunny Wailer, Tony Rebel, Marcia Griffiths, Gregory Isaacs, Buju Banton, Jimmy Cliff and Anthony B were reportedly energy filled and well received.

Rearing its determined head from a cloud of controversy, Reggae Rising was a complete success. The sold out inaugural event, held August 3rd, 4th and 5th on the spectacular grounds of Humboldt County's Dimmick Ranch in Piercy, California offered up intimate servings of major reggae headliners, joined by solid 'up and coming' acts.

With 12,000 people on site and mellow vibes permeating the scene, Reggae Rising pumped positive energy for 3 days straight. Capturing the true essence of reggae, the festival featured the absolute best in all aspects of the genre. The huge roster of reggae giants like: Tanya Stephens, Morgan Heritage, Horace Andy and Ziggy Marley, made this traditional "reggae pilgrimage" parallel to none.

Stingmavado_bountykillerd'angel.jpgFresh from the successful US launch of his much anticipated debut album, "Gangsta for Life – the Symphony of David Brooks," Mavado has returned to the island to shoot a video for his mega hit "Squeeze Her Breast," the summer anthem also featured on his album.

The video was shot over two days on location in Cassava Piece and in a sound studio, with scores of hot girls flooding the camera lens. The video, which was directed by Julia Braham, also features a snippet of the follow-up to Squeeze Her Breast, "Twice a Day," a song that leaves little to the imagination. The video has now been edited and should be hitting TV screens over the next couple of weeks.

Mavado will be returning to New York later this month to headline the Carifest stage show, as well as to film a big budget video for the second single from "Gangsta For Life."

Sharp, Melodic and Royal - Taurus Riley Rules

Taurus Riley's "She's Royal" is one of those songs void of an expiry date. Simply put the song is a classic. Taurus has been on the periphery of superstardom for a long time; but the sun is currently shining on him, and it's doing so brightly. Other hot current singles from today's hottest Reggae crooner are "Parables" and "Beware."

Listen to his music! Does the sensation that you feel remind you of a rising Bob Marley, Garnett Silk or Beresford Hammond? Yes, it comes from a contagious sound that could bring a meteoric rise similar to his predecessors.

Despite his soulful sound, Taurus' music transcends mere melodies for the ears, because like Peter Tosh, he could be called "a stepping razor".

Jah Cure's first appearance overseas

july2007-jah_cure.jpgOn August 12, 2007, Jah Cure is expected to make his first overseas appearance since being released last month. According to his manager, Allison Hunt, he will perform at The Sundance Festival in Holland. She also confirmed that news about his being scheduled to perform in the United States in upcoming months are unfounded and false.

The current "hot ticket" in reggae - Jah Cure is literally busting out all over, with an unprecedented popular winning streak that overrides the negativity of his recent unfortunate incarceration.

Born on October 11th, 1978 in Hanover, Jamaica and raised in Kingston, the talented singer was given the name Jah Cure by Reggae superstar, Capleton whom he met while growing up in Kingston. His first big break came in 1997 when he released the single "King of the Jungle" which was a duet with Sizzla. The single was produced by Beres Hammond who became Cure's mentor. He then released a steady stream of singles that won him critical and popular acclaim

In a tell all novel that mirrors his life with Terry McMillan
ba_happy.jpgFollowing in the footsteps of his talented ex-wife, Jonathan Plummer has written a novel that closely resembles the events in his life. Once married to esteemed “Waiting To Exhale” author, Terry McMillan, Plummer was the inspiration for his wife's best selling 1996 novel, "How Stella Got Her Groove Back."

Plummer's first published literary works will carry the title, "Balancing Act: A Novel," and it will be released by Simon & Schuster on September 4, 2007. Based on the story of a Jamaican man who made a major switch in career and life paths after meeting and marrying a powerhouse of a woman, Plummer's fictitious tale focuses on this ordinary life that gets disrupted after entering what mirrors Terry McMillan’s world.

Described by Contra Costa Times as, "a sexy and satisfying novel as deliciously racy as the life he lived," the story speaks to the writer's experiences.

Plummer and McMillan made headlines after their messy divorce in 2006. The New York Times #1 Best Selling Author filed for divorce after her husband disclosed his homosexuality.

"Balancing Act" tells the story of a model agency owner who signs a handsome Jamaican man as a model. Like Terry, she is duped as he discovers a hidden hunger for a male model.”

SizzlaKalonji_YardFlex.jpgAs driving rhythms pumped revelers at Gray's Inn Sports Complex, St Mary in the wee hours of Jamaica’s independence morning, angry words were spewed in chants, blows were thrown and a barrage of fighting men took over the stage for about 15 minutes. The overarching problem seemed to be that neither Sizzla nor Norris Man ever heard about putting their mind in gear before putting their mouth in action.

While a few DJs were on stage taking turns at riding the rhythms, Norris Man came out on stage and took a turn himself – with a chant that included: "Yow – no man can't tell me notin, many artists are backstage… man like Jah Cure, Capleton and dem man deh…" This motivated the crowd to roar in a frenzy and it also set off the fracas that started after Sizzla's response.

Usher and Tameka are Married

On Friday August 4, 2007, Usher and Tameka Foster became man and wife, according to gossip columnist, Stella Foster of the Chicago Sun-Times.
Writing that Usher and Tameka tied the knot at a private ceremony performed in the office of Usher’s attorney, Stella Foster (no relation to the bride), put the puzzle pieces together for confused and disappointed fans. The couple recently called off their planned elaborate wedding that was to take place in the Hamptons estate of LA Reid.

Sources for the gossip columnist said Jonetta Patton, Usher’s disapproving mother was surprisingly in attendance. She has been vocal in the recent past about her apprehensions when it comes to his marriage. Usher’s new bride, a divorcee, is pregnant with his first and her fourth child. Foster’s being older than her 28 year old husband was a matter of contention for Patton, who reportedly also snubbed the wedding idea because Foster was instrumental in her being fired as Usher’s manager last May.
The report said that Friday’s nuptials went ahead following the ironing out of an elaborate prenuptial agreement.

Babyface releases new album called "Playlist"

babyface1.jpg"These songs came from memories, and these songs helped shape who I am and they're still shaping who I am," says Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds about his beautifully emotional new album, Playlist. "They shaped my past and now they're shaping my future." Indeed, eight of Playlist's ten songs loom large in the memory of just about anyone who has loved popular music for the past three decades. The titles and the original performers alone constitute a pop-radio dream team: "Wonderful Tonight" (Eric Clapton); "Shower the People" and "Fire and Rain" (James Taylor); "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" (Bob Dylan); "Please Come To Boston" (Dave Loggins); "Longer" (Dan Fogelberg); "Time in a Bottle" (Jim Croce), and "Diary" (Bread).

Much loved as they are, however, these songs are not necessarily the first ones that fans would associate with Edmonds, as he himself admits. "Coming from 'Whip Appeal' to these songs, it seems like a stretch," he says with a chuckle. "But it doesn't feel like that to me. It feels pretty natural." Indeed, while being characteristically respectful of the original versions, Edmonds layers in rhythmic emphases that make the songs move sensually on the bottom as the melodies float delicately on top. The result is immediately accessible acoustic soul music; old, cherished memories made new again.

Singing along and just thrilled to the bone, the maximum capacity crowd, especially those in the all inclusive VIP section were served up a healthy dose of Marley music.

These tumors result from abnormal growth of muscle cells and fibrous connective tissue in the uterus. By the age of 50 years old the overall incidence of fibroids are 70-80% for women. Fibroids can vary in size from being undetectable by human eyes to the size of a full term pregnancy. In studying the origin of fibroids, they have been linked to hormonal imbalance, obesity, xeno-estrrogen, heavy metal toxicity, infectious microorganisms, stress and high blood sugar level. Fibroids can cause complications such as menstrual problems, pelvic and lower back pain, constipation, urinary problems, hemorrhoids, infertility, ectopic pregnancy and miscarriages. Black women are four times more likely to develop fibroids than Caucasian women. They also have larger fibroids and develop fibroids at a younger age.

Laying there as if in the blue sky, Craig was kissed, touched, cried over and viewed by a crowd that has been waiting for Hurricane Dean to pass, in order to pay their last respects.

kenyatta1.jpgKenyatta Hill debuts' single, "Daddy," (Tafari Records) confronts the emotional pain and uncertainty he felt after the recent loss of his father. "While I was writing, I was sitting and crying, because I didn’t understand what was going on. I still don't understand what's going on, you just kind of to go with the flow," Kenyatta said.

Approximately 48 hours before Dean's arrival in Jamaica civilians had adopted a casual approach for the most part. Now, in the aftermath of Hurricane Dean, Jamaicans are counting their blessings. Although the Jamaican Public Services had the highest reported hurricane preparedness efforts in place, Dean’s effect still caused major damage to the island itself. marcus garvey 1.jpgMarcus Garvey, father of panafricanism, is being honored throughout the world, celebrating his 120th birthday.

However, the fortunes of the young Jamaicans changed during the One Day Competition when some flashes of brilliance with the bat, from: Shakoya Thomas, Derval Green (Captain), Horace Miller, Christie Jones, Nkruma Bonner and Andre Creary and with the ball, from: Jason Dawes along with Jamie Merchant helped facilitated the outdoing of their opponents to cap a scintillating run over five games.

fibroids_basic_information_image3.gifUterine fibroids are benign (medically harmless) tumors of the uterus. Treatment includes hysterectomy, myomectomy, Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE), gonadatropin releasing hormones (GnRH) antagonists, androgens (danazol), and focused ultrasound surgery (FUS), and essential oils.

More people have to get involved, not everyone can be an artist to move the industry forward."

fsyD05F.jpgCraig Dennis was laid to rest today, August 22, with a thanksgiving service for his life. Held at the Greater Macedonia F. B. H. Church, with Interment at Meadowrest Memorial Gardens, Kingston, the service was attended by hundreds of family members, friends and colleagues of Craig’s from the reggae fraternity, who turned out to pay their last respects.

Reports indicate that his fans were awed by music he delivered from his diverse repertoire, while being backed by the Firehouse Band. "This tour was beautiful and very successful. All of the venues were filled to capacity. The fans were so warm and supportive; they were in a frenzy at each show," Sizzla recalled.

About his newly released album on the Greensleeves label, titled, "I-Space," Sizzla said, "It's an album I have been working on bit by bit. I would go overseas and whenever I return I would complete two or three songs. It's an album naturally done. I love it and I did it for you all."

'We didn't want to just go there and do a regular performance. We wanted to make sure that we took our culture and leave with a positive message', O'neil Edwards, member of Voice Mail commented about the group’s recent performance in Tortola, British Virgin Islands.

Voice Mail's performance on the three day festival on Tortola, marked the first time that the group was performing in that country. 'It was our first time there and we really enjoyed it', said Edwards.

More than 5,000 persons turned out for the festival which was held in an outdoor venue. 'We were surprised that the people there knew the words to our songs. It was quite interesting for us, because after about ten minutes into our performance, the people seemed to be very comfortable with us and were singing along word for word', Edwards reiterated.

kenyatta1.jpgKenyatta Hill debuts' single, "Daddy," (Tafari Records) confronts the emotional pain and uncertainty he felt after the recent loss of his father. "While I was writing, I was sitting and crying, because I didn’t understand what was going on. I still don't understand what's going on, you just kind of to go with the flow," Kenyatta said.

His father, Joseph Hill, was the front man of Culture, the legendary vocal trio whose 1997 hit "Two Sevens Clash" helped define the roots reggae genre. In August 2006, while on tour in Berlin, Germany, Joseph Hill suddenly fell ill and passed away. Rather than cancel the rest of the tour, Kenyatta who has served as Cultures sound engineer since the age of 15 decided to step in for his father. "It was a challenge, because I never knew I could sing. I was a nervous wreck. There was pressure because I had a big role to fill."

Hurricane Dean thrashed Jamaica on Sunday august 19th as it went on a destructive glide on the islands south coast. The skies began growing dim on Saturday evening while people in Jamaica went about preparing for the category four storm. Ensuring homes were secured and filled with all the necessary provisions, supplies and especially love Jamaicans batted down and got ready.

Here are some post Hurricane Dean messages from artistes that were in the island at the time:

Special Tribute To Marcus Garvey

marcus garvey 1.jpgMarcus Garvey, father of panafricanism, is being honored throughout the world, celebrating his 120th birthday.

Referring particularly to reports that she said were maliciously published, claiming, "D'Angel lifted her skirt and patted her genital area," during the Beenie Man furniture repossession fiasco, Elliot wants the public to know that the story is erroneous and that Ms. Downer did not act in such a manner.

Elliot has advised the publishing house concerned to retract the story or put themselves in the line of fire for a Defamation of Character Lawsuit against them.

barbeehat.jpgBarbee is now enjoying a huge buzz both in Jamaica and the Caribbean.

Whoever started this rumor has cause mayhem in her 5 year relationship with partner, Harry Toddler. Michelle said that the rumors are not true, and she has never ever been approached in any inappropriate way by Fire Links.

Michelle whose real name is Ann-Marie McKoy, said she has been in a relationship with Toddler ever since she won the Dancehall Queen title in 2003. Now his lack of trust is causing them to have physical altercations and the worst part of it all for Mad Michelle is that she is suffering as a result of malicious lies.

Recently returned to Jamaica from touring places like Martinique, Montreal and Cayman, Mad Michelle says her career as a popular dancer is doing well and she is actually testing the singing waters. A new dance song to be released in the next 2 months is in the pipeline for her.

Despite his soulful sound, Taurus' music transcends mere melodies for the ears, because like Peter Tosh, he could be called "a stepping razor".

july2007-jah_cure.jpgOn August 12, 2007, Jah Cure is expected to make his first overseas appearance since being released last month.

Bounty_Killer.JPGNow, all hell poppin loose! It doesn't seem that the Beenie Man and D' Angel issue will fade away anytime soon. The other parties engaged in the scenario, Bounty Killa and Don Mafia, Beenie's former chief songwriter, are currently taking aim at D'Angel's ex-husband, now that the split has been broadcast, I guess it's their time for revenge.

Both artistes have recently recorded songs, venting their anger! While it proved difficult for us to get the script for Bounty's venomous lyrics, we got Don Mafia's.

Lyrics from Don Mafia's Song

The J$50,000 donated to the club following last year’s concert has helped youth in the community in a big way.

Beenie Man&BarbeeSumfest.jpgTaping of the second season of VH1's "The Wendy Williams Experience" began on August 2, 2007 in WBLS Studios. Today's episode featured none other than Beenie Man's estranged wife, D'Angel. In between rants about how well she is known all over the world and updates about her upcoming musical collaborations with various artistes D'Angel managed to tell Wendy that the rumors of her marital infidelity are false and that Beenie's reported new "young ting" played no part in their separation.

It has been 10 years since Lauryn Hill's release of her critically acclaimed album, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," which elevated her from hip-hop success with the Fugees to pop superstardom. Well, after a fiasco of a show in California where she appeared onstage unkempt and late, had difficulty singing, and fell on the stage, she is BACK, playing a free Aug. 6, 2006 show at Wingate Field (Winthrop Street between Brooklyn and Kingston avenues in Crown Heights) at 7:30 pm.
