bountykiller-sexygirls-beenieman.jpgEach and every year the South East Florida Authorities brace themselves for Memorial Weekend because it is usually full of events attended by thousands of people both locally and internationally. The high energy and excitement can sometimes create some sort of chaos. This year, gun salutes at one event confused crowds, causing some chaos.

Most of this holiday's events were incident free. Large crowds attended high society's upscale parties, including many stylish, classy ladies. White Noise's back-to-back parties featuring Tony Matterhorn, Super Twitch, Black Chiney, Stone Love and Swatch were also well attended. Bubbles and Blink lived up to their expectation, as did the Hip-hop concert featuring Young Jeezy, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe and Terror Squad.

MajorMyjah-florida.jpgSomething about the lyrics,
"some a dem a dead, some a dead a flee;
some a dem, end up prisoners of war you see;
Prisoners of War de a Guantanomo Bay
How many of God's children haffi dead today
From the guns dem whey a fire everyday"

seems surreal coming from the pen of a 9 year old. Reality check! There's nothing surreal or far out about this pint size artist, Major Myjah.

With musical influences like Sade, Bob Marley, Nas and Bow Wow, it's almost natural for Myjah to spit lyrics that are beyond his years. In fact, the first song he ever sang freestyle was so deep that Reggae Veteran Freddie McGregor and his Road Manager Barry Clarke instantly gave him his moniker, Major Myjah, he was a wee 4 years old. Let his mother tell it, the future superstar has been singing and writing since birth. Now at a mere 10 years old MJ, as he prefers to be called by his peers, has 7 original self-penned songs in his repertoire. He also has an unreleased music video directed by re-known film director, Jay Will and is currently in the studio with seasoned producer Leroy "Baarbe" Romans and several other producers.

There's the internet, then there's MySpace. Although the term internet was officially defined on October 24, 1995, the process was in the making since 1961. The Internet today is a widespread information infrastructure that connects the global community regardless of geographic location. Since the advent of the internet, many networking sites were created in the hopes of capitalizing on the instant easy access to the global community. MySpace is perhaps the most successful community site. According to Martin H. Bosworth of ConsumerAffairs.Com, "What started out as a "place for friends" has grown into the definitive social-networking phenomenon."

Many recording artists and bands caught on to the phenomena and use MySpace to communicate with fans and consumers of their music around the world. MySpace recently began another franchise, MySpace Secret Show. From it's inception in February 2006, MySpace users were treated to performances by some of the hot and sometimes new musical acts. The events are free and marketed only to MySpace loyalists. Previous showcases featured Paul Wall, Gym Class Heroes, and Gnarls Barkley. The latest installment was staged on Monday, May 30, 2007 at Studio A Nightclub in Downtown, Miami, Florida. It was sponsored by Chili and Featured Stephen "Ragga" Marley with special guest, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley.

mims_junior_reid.jpgThe "This is why I'm Hot Rapper" is facing a legal battle alledging that he is sexist. Marquitta Blair filed suit in New York's Rockland County Court, alledging that her civil rights were violated when Mims didn't honor a contract to perform at a New York nightclub. The twenty-two year old Talent Agent says she paid a $2,500 deposit to Mims' agents for a performance. Apparently the rapper never showed up. Blair interpreted Shawn Mims decision to vacate the scheduled booking as having a "discriminatory attitude" towards women which, in her opinion, reflects his "pattern of conduct involving the belittlement and degradation of females as bitches and hoes."

bounty-killer-best-of-best-mavado-beenie-man-d'angel.jpgBounty Killa was in rare form on stage last night at the Best of the Best Concert in downtown Miami, Florida. He killed them musically and summed up the War in one paragraph. In his war cry, he told the 30,000 attendees that they keep talking about his ex-girlfriend (D'Angel) but them need to realize that once you pick up what the warlord done with, problems will come. "See the two a dem a stab up each other." Of course the crowd responded with a thunderous outburst of cheer as they realize that he was referring to the recent marital assault between newly weds D'Angel and Beenie Man.

The Warlord, nee Rodney Price, shifted to his musical repertoire complemented by Movado and Wayne Marshall. Although they both gave stellar individual performances, they also shined as the Grunge Godd's hype men. In true Alliance Unity, Movado referred to the veteran

Ignoring technical difficulties that at one point forced the awesome 1st Lady of rude dub to even sit off to one side of the stage, giving engineers the chance to work it out - patrons sang along in high octaves. Montreal's Jamaican owned reggae hub, E.B. Club Lounge was certainly buzzing with excitement, as Lady Saw's persistence and "Love for her audience," overshadowed the glitch.

"Ninja, Nuh worry bout me and Angel and bun" -- "D'Angel left you because you can pay di bill".

These are a few heated lines from songs done by Bounty Killer and Ninja Man, throwing blows at each other. Some people say it's nothing serious, just a father and son quarrel, but according to the heated words being thrown at each other in two songs that were on heavy rotation on Jamaican radio stations last weekend, this seems to be more than just a father and son tiff.

At the beginning of this rhythmic bickering Ninja Man mentioned Bounty Killer's name in a song in reference to past details of Bounty Killer and D'Angel's previous relationship. Bounty Killer countered this move with a song of his own and just by listening to the words of this song you can tell that he really was upset with the situation

foxy_brown_sexygirls_naked_nude_rihanna_beyounce.jpgAccording to our Sources, Foxy Brown AKA The Ill NaNa was driving on a suspended license, in Brooklyn, when she almost hit a young woman pushing a stroller.

The New York Daily News first reported that according to the mother, who has chosen to remain anonymous, she was in the crosswalk with her stroller in front of her when the rapper sped past her in a silver Range Rover. The mother barely had time to pull the baby out of harm's way before exchanging some heated words with the sassy Foxy. "She cursed at me and proceeded to drive down Prospect Place."

The unnamed mother attempted to file a police report but the police advised her that they could not assist her because neither her nor her baby were actually hit. The police department further could not respond to the alleged reckless driving charges even though DMV confirmed the Brown's driver's license has been revoked for failing to respond to summonses. Brown also has a history of driving without a license. This was evident in her citation back in 2000 when she crashed her Range Rover off Flatbush Avenue. Range Rover...Brooklyn...hmm!

Since the victim had no recourse, she gave the New York Daily News an exclusive.

Grab a dictionary and read slowly, this clearly explains the deadly Human Immunodeficiency Virus

By: Dr. Carlton Fraser

aids_front_big.jpgThe Virus: Its History and Definition
The history of viruses probably began about 1886 when the Dutch chemist Adolf Mayer revealed that it was possible to transfer the tobacco mosaic disease from an affected plant to a healthy plant. In the past (1882) he had described the phenomenon as "a soluble, possible enzyme-like contagium" but by 1886 he had altered his opinion and reported that it is "bacterial, but that the infectious forms have not yet been isolated, nor are their forms of life known..."

Subsequently (1892) the Russian bacteriologist Dmitri Ivanovsky failed in his attempts to isolate the infectious agent by use of filtering and it was left to Dutch botanist Martinus Beijerink to voice the observation that the behavior, of the seemingly elusive causative agent, was different from that of bacteria. He fittingly coined the definition 'contagium vivum fluidum' or 'virus(es)' - the Latin for poison.

In and about 1935 two interesting events occurred that contributed immensely to our clinical understanding of virology. One was the American chemist Wendel M. Stanley isolating the tobacco mosaic virus and the other was the invention of an electron microscope which made viruses visible for the first time.

Not getting any announcements from promoters as to what was holding up the show, the crowd of only a handful - grew exceedingly restless and wondered aloud if the artists were a no show or what was the problem.

People in the audience appeared mesmerized by Hinds especially during her "fast wining" session with one equally agile audience member. Hinds took this unsuspecting man on a trip to Trinidad that far outweighed Akon's recent African tour given to a Trinidadian female fan.

Hinds' "fast wine" was full of energy, but highly decent, with both dancers further igniting the vibes that was already spelling sexy, classy and definitely cool.

Nanko-sexygirls-downsound.jpgAfter several successful singles and the blossoming of a great music career, Nanko has left Downsound Records. Well, that's how it appeared from the outside looking in. The world saw this young gifted artist making waves for himself but the reality of it was that he was depressed and wasn't getting paid for the work he was doing. YardFlex.com had an opportunity to talk to Joe Bogdanivich, Vonnie McGowan, and Meliea Brown about the situation.

Bogdanivich, who has been managing Nanko's career also signed him to his record label, recently filed a lawsuit against Nanko asking for the recoup of monies for shows that were booked since the time that Nanko disappeared off the island. "Nanko is crazy; really I am tired of seeing his face. He signed a contract with me and then left the island. I have no idea where he is and have not talked to him," Bogdanivich said. "Concerns raised by Nanko in the new contract were modified; he signed the contract and then left the island. He refuses to take calls, respond to emails or communicate. Downsound has had to cancel concerts and it has spoiled Downsound's reputation. There is no truth that Downsound took money for shows and didn't pay Nanko, this act is a breach of contract," explained Bogdanivich.

An uplifting film that penetrates every emotion felt by women at different moments

By: Janice Dayle

_soulmate2006.jpgOn the same side as Mother's Day, is the celebration of life, love and God. For all women, that includes the celebration of self. An uplifting documentary called "Soulmate" joins in this celebration, giving viewers a riveting cinematic journey into the realities facing successful, saved and single African American women today.

Andrea Wiley is the documentary's filmmaker who recognises the films propensity to impact and even change the lives of women. She stated, "I believe that we're all born with a hole in our souls and it can't be filled with money, career success, sex, material things or even our families. Only God can fill it."

stephen marley10617.jpgPowerful, energetic, inspired and nostalgic are just a few words that come to mind when describing Stephen Marley's performance at New York's Nokia Theatre in Times Square on May 11, 2007. The Grammy Award winning artist performed to a sold out audience of 2,000+ adrenaline filled fans.

Songs from Stephen's highly acclaimed solo album Mind Control, which dropped back in March 2007, kept the audience energized and in-tuned. The title track, Lonely Avenue, Hey Baby, Chase Dem, Iron Bars featuring New York native Mr. Cheeks and The Traffic Jam, supported by Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley, were definite crowd pleasers.

Soul satisfying renditions of tunes from his father's catalogue were met with pumped fists and amplified movement as the audience harmonized with the words of Slave Driver, Chant Down Babylon, No Woman No Cry and Buffalo Soldier among others.

Ms Triniti - The meteoric rise continues

ms-triniti-sexygirls-naked-girls-rihanna-beyonce-jay-z-ne-yo.jpgMs Triniti continues to gain recognition and respect from countless established Artistes and Producers. Sean Paul recently requested that she accompany him on US and Japan tours, where she was well received. As a result Ms Triniti decided to release her second album, "Do Or Dare" in both those countries on April 12.

To date Ms Triniti has also toured with major recording artists such as Ja Rule, D12, Kevin Lyttle and Elephant Man. She was even sought out by Mario Winan's to record a track and has been featured on Beenie Man's upcoming album, with the collaboration entitled, "Bling Bling Eyes," as well as on two songs with Baby Cham for his new release.

Still at an early stage in her career, Ms Triniti has recorded with an impressive roster of major Producers in Reggae/Dancehall, including Salaam Remi, Troyton Rami, Lenky Marsden, Steve Moralis, Sly and Robbie and Dave Kelly. With two albums, five videos, excellent stage presence and a rapidly growing fan base, Ms.Triniti is perhaps one of the hottest, unsigned artistes for any label out there.

edee-reggae-japan-ms-triniti-sexygirls-naked.jpgNot many artistes out of Jamaica can claim having been on the Billboard Top 25 Hip-Hop R&B Sales chart. E-Dee has however, been doing just that as he is featured on Ms Triniti's newest smash "Bongce Along". The 25 year old artist out of Clarendon, Jamaica is experiencing a breakthrough in the US market since spending the last five weeks as a chart topper. Already in Japan he is ready for his second full-length CD release and has appeared on four compilation CDs out of Japan. With two videos in rotation on Hype, CVM and Irie-FM in Jamaica, and US radio picking up his single "R U Ready" and "Between the Sheets" E-Dee could soon step into the international mainstream.

Born Everton Dennis, E-Dee was the youngest of eight siblings. His musical career began in the church, where he sang in the choir. His mother was very religious and did not allow E-Dee to listen to music other than gospel because she considered dancehall/reggae to be profane. So E-Dee's early musical experience was steeped in gospel. Suddenly his mother passed without warning when he was 12 years old and a young E-Dee had to grow up quickly. Working hard to earn money for his school uniform and books, E-Dee learnt dedication and focus very early, having to take care of himself. Applied to his musical career, that diligence brought E-Dee to his dreams. After completing his secondary education he moved to America to pursue his music career and to study to become an Actor. While in the U.S. E-Dee's steady exposure to Hip-Hop and R&B began to influence his writing, infusing the American slang with Jamaican Patois E-Dee's sound began to evolve.

bun-him-novel-dancehall-macka-diamond-sexygirls.jpgBUN HIM!!!... ...The novel, picks up where the controversial hit song of the same name, by Macka Diamond and Black-Er, left off not so long ago. If you liked the song, you will DEFINATELY love the novel.

BUN HIM!!! Is set in today's day and age, using today's vernacular, familiar names and places, making it relevant to the times as it captures every aspect of the dancehall vibes. To add authenticity and depth, Macka uses Kingston as the backdrop and dancehall music as the soundtrack.

The target audience is bound to relate .....

Finally you will get the full hundred on who's bunning who, and why, and even sweeter than that, you'll discover the third party's identity. Think that's interesting? ... ... Wait, there's more, because like the saying goes, 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you,' something which applies very much to the laws of bunning.

Just like the song, the novel steps on corns, even coming across a bit bold, maybe even a bit risky at times, but at the end of the day, 'BUN HIM!!!' depicts a harsh and heartbreaking reality, but at the same time, does exactly what it was designed to do; teach a very valuable lesson... ... a lesson that so many in society need to be reminded of....

Danah-Alleyne-akon-dance-beyonce-jay-rihanna.jpgDuring an April 12 concert in Trinidad, Akon announced a "dance contest" that featured a grand-prize trip to Africa. Danah Alleyne, the 14-year-old daughter of a pastor, was among seven females that joined Akon on stage to compete for a chance to dance with the Senegalese rapper. Danah won the "contest" but the reward was not a trip to the Continent of Africa. Akon announced that he was "Africa" and proceeded to simulate multiple aggressive sexual positions with the girl as the crowd cheered.

After a local TV station aired the footage and websites broadcast the dry rape around the globe, Danah made a public apology that she "got carried away." In her statement she explained that she started to dance as well, "But I never thought it was going to be like that. I was shocked. My head was hitting the floor." Her rendition of the incident seemed much milder than the video, that showed her entire body being tossed around the stage as Akon forcefully had his way with her.

usher-mother-rihanna-beyonce-sexygirls-naked-nude.jpgYardFlex.com has confirmed rumours brewing for a week that had Usher on the verge of firing his Manager, Jonnetta Patton, his own mother. In a statement on May 7, the R&B crooner made it official. "She and I are on great terms and support each other in our life's endeavours. We are both very happy but are now working in different areas of the business." Usher expressed the joy he felt in having his mom be a mother, without the pressure of spearheading his career path.

The rumour mill suggested Usher's fiancée and former stylist, Tameka Foster pulled the strings of Patton's dismissal since she let her go as his stylist. There was also suggestion that Foster would take over as Manager. These rumours were again put to bed. In an official statement to the Associated Press, Usher said that his fiancée has no intention of managing him or anyone else's career. "She has no aspirations of becoming my manager or any other artist's manager," he confirmed.

Kelly-beyonce-jay-z-rihanna-sexygirls-naked-janet-jackson-d'angel.jpgThey say that change can be a good thing. Just ask Kelly Rowland, a founding member of Destiny's Child, the top-selling female recording group of all-time, and a best-selling Grammy-winning solo artist in her own right.

By 2006, Destiny's Child had wrapped the group's "Destiny Fulfilled" farewell tour and Kelly Rowland -- who'd successfully debuted as a solo artist in 2002 with a global smash album, Simply Deep, and a chart-topping Grammy-winning hit single, "Dilemma" -- decided to record her second solo album, a collection of new songs reflecting who she was and where she was going as a woman and as an artist.

The result, Ms. Kelly is the long-awaited successor to Rowland's best-selling 2002 solo debut album, Simply Deep, which has sold more than 2.5 copies worldwide, debut at #1 in the UK and Australia. Simply Deep showcased the smash hit, "Dilemma," Kelly's duet with the rapper Nelly, which earned the Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2003 and spent 10 weeks at #1 on the Hot 100.

Barrington "Barry G" Gordon, described also as "The Godfather" of Jamaican airwaves, is currently convalescing well after suffering a stroke in late April. The ace radio personality, who was a force to be reckoned with throughout the eighties and beyond was reportedly on his way to Florida from Jamaica, when startling symptoms left him shaken and in need of physical assistance and subsequent hospitalisation.

The 50 year old, who was fine tuning plans for a return to radio is said to be most concerned about the stroke’s affect on his commanding speech and diction, qualities he's honed since those 1975 JBC training days. With enunciation, or lack of it being Barry G's primary critique of radio hosts in this millennium, it is no surprise that a speedy recovery in this area is paramount to him, as he undergoes intensive therapy.

'If a bootleg wi shoot leg.' This was Vybz Kartel's utterance as he ascended the podium at the launch of his new album in 2004.
The bootleg issue has plagued the Reggae/Dancehall since technology has made it possible, and, concerns have increased since the resurgence of the genre on the international mainstream has not brought a much desired 'organized system'.

Dancehall artiste LA.Lewis believes that an organized system can only be manifested through the establishment of corporate enterprises that govern the industry. He explained," There needs to be a big building in Jamaica that represents the headquarters of Reggae/Dancehall music, from the charts to the Reggae archives." He added that where it concerns bringing and keeping the financial profits of the music in Jamaica, it all begins with the local radio stations, producers and the artistes.

She did it the first time with 'Done Already' then followed up with the women's anthem 'Bun Him' which was done in combination with Black-er.

Now she is at it again with 'Hula Hoop' a song which seems to have taken a life of its own. It topped the Richie B charts, was number one on RE TV singles charts and now it is perched at the top of the Hype TV singles chart.

This female DJ is certainly on a roll as she won the IRIE FM and Richie B' EME Awards for Female DJ of the year.

Last Saturday Macka gave the Dancing Dynamite a whale of a time as she along with the host did the hula hoop dance.

stevenmarley.jpgWords can barely describe the great performance put on by K'naan, Stephen Marley and Damian Marley at the May 4th stop of Stephen's Mind Control US tour in Houston, Texas. If it was possible to bottle up all of the energy in the crowd, it would be enough to probably provide power to the city of Houston for the next 2 months. Good vibes, good drinks, great crowd, great music. It was truly an awesome show.

The DJ got the crowd ready with a jamming set of classic reggae tunes. Although his mixing was almost non-existent, the crowd still began to get energized by the music and atmosphere.

At about 10:00 PM, K'naan hit the stage. Truth be told, I had never heard of K'naan until the concert but the man made a fan out of me. K'naan hails from Somalia and if you're familiar with the country then you know it ain't all peaches and cream. The young man has risen up despite the struggles his country continues to face and has created music that is inspiring, uplifting, and just flat out jams.

Busta-Rhymes-rihanna-jail-jay-z-beyonce-sexygirls-nakedgirls.jpgThe rapper Busta Rhymes was arrested early this morning and charged with driving while intoxicated after officers stopped his car in Manhattan and smelled alcohol on his breath, the police said.

The rapper, whose real name is Trevor Smith, was pulled over about 12:48 a.m. near the corner of West 51st Street and 11th Avenue because the tint on the windows of his 2006 Yukon Denali was too dark, the police said. When officers approached his car and asked for his paperwork, Mr. Smith reached over and dropped his wallet, at which point "he was found to have a strong odor of alcohol on his breath," according to the police report.

After failing a Breathalyzer test at the scene, he was taken to a police station, where he failed additional sobriety tests, the police said. He is currently being held until his arraignment, which is expected to take place later this afternoon. His lawyer, Scott Leemon, did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

The twenty-two year old Talent Agent says she paid a $2,500 deposit to Mims' agents for a performance. Apparently the rapper never showed up.

King_Yolanda2_martin_luther_king.jpgLess than a year and a half after the death of Coretta Scott King, widow of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr comes the untimely death of their eldest daughter Yolanda King. The 51 year old collapsed and died after making a speech late Tuesday in Santa Monica, California. Former Mayor Andrew Young, who worked with her father in the civil rights movement and is a close family friend, recounts that Yolanda King had just spoken at an event for the American Heart Association. She was helping the association raise awareness, especially among blacks, about stroke. After the event, the California resident was on her way to her brother Dexter's home when she collapsed in the doorway and "they were not able to revive her," Young said.

beenie-man-gun-violence-london=sexygirls-naked-girls-d'angel.jpgGun violence or the alleged threat of it, forced police in South London to put the brakes on a scheduled Beenie Man gig slated to take place on Mothers Day 2007. The club Coronet in Elephant & Castle was the scene of a bloody gun assault on the previous weekend and police said their intelligence indicated a repeat shoot out was being planned.

Club Coronet's close to fatal 'Black Music Night' that took place a week before on May 5th was a repeat of the same Black Music themed night, held the previous month. Simon Parks, club owner is reported by icSouthLondon as saying there were no problems at Black Music Night a month ago - he surely did not expect the mayhem of May 5th.

Sugar Minott serenades Miami Moms

sugar_minott.jpgAnother one of Florida's Pre-Mothers Day grooves saw Sugar Minott in his usual full form at Miami's Naomi Gardens on May 12. Dubbed Sugar Minott and Friends in concert, the night consisted of reggae's great "Lincoln Sugar" being joined by King Banton and Murray Marshall with The Nubian Players backing band.

An outpouring of love songs dedicated to mothers left a very receptive audience wanting more. King Banton performed very well setting the stage for Marshall's vibrant 30 minute set, that in turn prepared the crowd for Sugar Minott's dynamism.

Dedicating a few love songs to his own mother, now 86 years old, Sugar Minott did not disappoint despite some technical difficulties. Naomi Gardens was seeped in a pleasing ethnic - yard vibe.

Allison-Hindes-soca-carnival.jpgAllison Hinds rocked Fort Lauderdale's Revolution on May 12, ushering in Mothers Day 2007 for a capacity crowd. Uncovering her might as a performance artist, Hinds headlined an evening billed as - "Naked" - where the sounds, Black Chiney, Renegade and Bambino infused raw force in their own renditions of exposing Caribbean sounds.

He explained," There needs to be a big building in Jamaica that represents the headquarters of Reggae/Dancehall music, from the charts to the Reggae archives." He added that where it concerns bringing and keeping the financial profits of the music in Jamaica, it all begins with the local radio stations, producers and the artistes.

macka-diamond-sexygirls-beenie-man-d'angel-rihanna.jpgQueen of the dancehall Macka Diamond has scored her third number one song with the very hot 'Hula Hoop'.

Promoters of the gig have said they have made Beenie Man sign a contract promising he will not perform any homophobic songs.

Mr Man is appearing with a BBC Radio 1 DJ, Chris Goldfinger, at Club 53 in the town on Bank Holiday Monday.

Robert Agey, the club's bar manager, told Luton Today that he did not condone the singer's gay hate lyrics:

"It does cause us concern, but nothing like that will be mentioned when he is here. It's part of his contract with us and he knows that.

"We don't condone discrimination. We know what we are doing. We have measures in place and everything is under control."

By: CJ

foxy_brown_sexygirls_naked_nude_rihanna_beyounce.jpgAccording to our Sources, Foxy Brown AKA The Ill NaNa was driving on a suspended license, in Brooklyn, when she almost hit a young woman pushing a stroller.

The much anticipated music video for Sizzla's Show More Love To The Youths on Feed The Children's exciting Africa riddim, was shot last Friday on locations across August Town and Sandy Park, close to Sizzla's Judgment Yard.

In Show More Love To The Youths, conscious Rastafarian singer Sizzla delivers a deep social commentary about the state of the younger generation. Recorded on the Sly & Robbie created Africa rhythm, the song is definitely worth a good listen and radioland is making sure of it.

Stopping crime and violence, taking care of the nation's youth and supporting community is the video's theme. During the video shoot, residents of Sizzla's community came out in their numbers to show their support as video director, Allan 'Endless' Tennent, worked his magic.

Cancelled Miami show ticked off patrons

Leaving Marcia Griffiths to ask, how could you do this to mothers – this is an insult.

luciano-marcia-griffiths-reggae-jamaica.jpgDisappointment was the sentiment shared by audience and artists alike as their hope of enjoying what was expected to be a Mothers Day show to remember, became shattered with the concert's sudden and late cancellation. Top reggae icons Marcia Griffiths and Luciano were billed for this special tribute to mothers at The Millennium Club in Miami, that had disgruntled patrons fed up with the unprofessional attitude of promoters who left them in the dark.

Not getting any announcements from promoters as to what was holding up the show, the crowd of only a handful - grew exceedingly restless and wondered aloud if the artists were a no show or what was the problem.

The cause of death is currently unknown.

Simon Parks, club owner is reported by icSouthLondon as saying there were no problems at Black Music Night a month ago - he surely did not expect the mayhem of May 5th.

sugar_minott.jpgAnother one of Florida's Pre-Mothers Day grooves saw Sugar Minott in his usual full form at Miami's Naomi Gardens on May 12.

Uncovering her might as a performance artist, Hinds headlined an evening billed as - "Naked" - where the sounds, Black Chiney, Renegade and Bambino infused raw force in their own renditions of exposing Caribbean sounds.

He explained," There needs to be a big building in Jamaica that represents the headquarters of Reggae/Dancehall music, from the charts to the Reggae archives." He added that where it concerns bringing and keeping the financial profits of the music in Jamaica, it all begins with the local radio stations, producers and the artistes.

macka-diamond-sexygirls-beenie-man-d'angel-rihanna.jpgQueen of the dancehall Macka Diamond has scored her third number one song with the very hot 'Hula Hoop'.

Mischief Entertainment in association with Wickerman Promotions, held Mischief 2007 on April 29th in Clarendon at the Jamalco Sports Club. It was a night full of excitement, good entertainment, and fun mischief. The decor and ambiance was incredible as gold and black beautified the artist and V.I.P. area creating a buzz backstage.

Many Reggae favourites graced the stage giving the audience lots of enjoyable moments. Freddy McGregor wooed the audience with many classic and current tunes. He then introduced some of the talent coming out of the Big Ship Camp he is working with like Delly Ranks, producer and artist extraordinaire.

New Artist, Teflon made an impression on the audience as he proved to be the next upcoming artist to look out for. He called up Lutan Fyah, who excited the crowd into a pure musical bliss. Even through his recent controversy in the press, he prevails.

TOURS THE U.S. WITH STEPHEN MARLEY, DAMIAN MARLEY

knaan-sexygirls-rihanna-steven-marley.jpgSomali-born MC and singer K'naan has joined Stephen Marley on his Mind Control North America Tour. The two will be joined by Jr. Gong himself, Damian Marley. K'naan will be performing in support of his upcoming debut album, The Dusty Foot Philosopher, a collection of hip-hop beats with reggae influences and African percussion. The Dusty Foot Philosopher will be released later this year and features tracks with Damian "Jr Gong" Marley and Mos Def as well as production by Track and Field (Nelly Furtado), Minnesota, Preservation.

K'naan "the traveler" fled Somalia as a refugee at 14 to escape civil war, making his new home in Toronto. But he hasn't forgotten his roots: his lyrics reflect his political and social stance against violence and his debut music video, Soobax is the first North American produced hip-hop video shot on African soil. K'naan adds the Marley brothers to an already impressive list of former tour and recording collaborators who celebrate the relevance of his political poetry, live performance and purpose driven mission, including Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Dead Prez, Digable Planets, Pharoah Monch, The Roots, and more.
