SnoopDawg.jpgThere were media reports recently that rapper Snoop Dogg had been arrested after a disturbance at Heathrow airport. The US star was detained by police when a row broke out after his 30-strong entourage was refused entry to the British Airways first-class lounge at the airport's Terminal 1.

His party was then alleged to have moved to a duty-free shop where it was said they threw bottles of whisky to the floor and argued with staff. Police were called to the airport and were escorting the group away from the scene when a further disturbance broke out, Scotland Yard said.

D'Angel-YardFlexPregnant.jpgDancehall celebrity D'Angel issued a release to the media this week saying that she will continue to perform on stage shows publicly for the next few months, after getting the go-ahead from her paediatrician.

"After three months, everything is sealed, the doctors said that I should take it easy as with any woman having her first child, but that I can continue to work. Anyway, mi nah run no marathon onstage, I just need to control mi movements, so there is no danger to the baby," she told YardFlex.Com on Saturday.

She performed at Richie Pooh's 13th anniversary show in Miami, Florida last week where Beenie Man and Sizzla were the headline acts. And she intends to perform alongside Beenie Man at stage shows over this weekend.

Chuck Fender's 'Gash Dem & Light Dem' Banned

Webmin

ChuckFenda-YardFlex.jpgZIP FM and IRIE FM have banned Chuck Fender's uptempo hit, 'Gash Dem' on recommendations made by the Broadcasting Commission. According to electronic mass media regulations in Jamaica, the commission itself does not ban any specific recordings or programmes, but they can make recommendations, and it appears that both IRIE and ZIP concur with their assessment of the song.

It is unclear whether other stations will follow suit.

The lyrics mirror the love of Jamaican artistes for the 'incendiary' with calls to 'burn' out negative elements that plague the society.

TasteeFinal.JPGThe next round of the Tastee Talent contest auditions is set for Saturday, May 6, at the Tastee Outdoor theatre in Cross Roads, starting at 9:00 am.

The Tastee Talent contest has the outstanding feature of being the only local talent contest that is opened to talents of all ages and in all the performing arts, be it singing, deejaying, dancing, acting, performing poetry, playing an instrument or even doing a magic act.

This year marks the 27th anniversary of the home-grown talent contest (the country's longest-running), which has provided the launching pad for many who have made it big in the entertainment industry. Tastee winners Beenie Man and King Yellowman even made it to the Grammy awards. Yellowman was the first DJ to be nominated for the popular music industry's most recognised honour.

MsTing&BeenieMan.jpgVirgin Records artiste Beenie Man has teamed up with hot dancehall producer, Rohan 'Sno Cone' Fuller, for a track called 'Horny', which, given the early buzz on it, could be included on his upcoming album, 'Undisputed' which is due out July 18th.

"Yea, man. Virgin said that they need him on the album, I've worked with Sno Cone many times before, he is great at what he does," Beenie Man told YardFlex.Com.

'Jah Sno Cone' produced Sean Paul's #1 single, 'Temperature' which has helped to push sales of the 'Trinity' LP which has been certified platinum by the RIAA.

The song, 'Horny', is a track on Sno Cone's new 'Cheerful' riddim, and also features vocals by Ms. Ting.

Mr. Peppa shot the music video for his slamming new single, 'Gangsta Guerilla' last weekend. The shoot took place over two days in the Corporate Area, and featured scenes from shot at such locations as the juice factory in Allman Town, Kingston, the 'white room' at ADVIDCO, and the Habibi Latino Restaurant in New Kingston.

"The video depicts the 'survival mode' that everyone in this society, whether rich or poor, can relate to, the struggle to survive and function in a very competitive society so this song addresses some critical social issues. The concept for it was Mark's (Pinnock) idea, and I added in some parts. When it makes its debut in two weeks, it's going to be crazy," Mr. Peppa told YardFlex.com.

One on One With Singer/Songwriter Ne-Yo

neyo_YardFlex.jpgAFTER SUFFERING a major disappointment when he first tried to make an album, singer-songwriter Ne-Yo decided to drop the 'singer' off his resume and just focus on being a songwriter. And he was so successful, writing the smash Let Me Love You for Mario last year, that for a while he was prepared to live out his artistic dreams out of the spotlight.

But executives at Def Jam Records had other ideas once they got to listen to some of Ne-Yo's music. He was signed to a record deal and the result, his album In My Own Words, arrived last month. It debuted at the top of the charts, thanks in part to the sizzling success of the album's No. 1 single, So Sick.

The 23-year-old recently sat down with The Associated Press and discussed what it's been like to focus once again on the singer part of his resume.

Daville_promo_pic_2.jpgSinger Da'Ville will be landing a second album, to be released in the summer titled 'Can't Get Over You'.

The album will feature all brand new original tracks, except for 'Tell Me Again'. The will be released in Japan, July and at a later date in Jamaica.

The former ARP lead singer, who was on tour in Japan early this year, said the contents of the album is self expressive and an album every music lover would like to have in their collection.

Da'Ville has to his credit songs such as 'Gallis', 'This Is The Feeling', 'Banana', 'The One For Me', 'Hey Baby' and 'In Heaven', among several others that have created an impact.

The artiste's versatility with music allows him to create cool lovers lyrics while still competing in the fast-paced world of dancehall.

"I can't reveal too much about the storyline, but basically my role in the movie is that of the lead villain, who upon hearing of the deaths of Wayne (Benz) flies to New York in his private jet and starts a vendetta of sorts against his killers. The villain is like a successful career hit man," he told YardFlex.Com.

"I have no idea when the movie is going to start shooting, but everything has been finalized now, and all that is left is for me to get the script and go to New York and Miami where we will be shooting the film."

SizzlaKalonji_YardFlex.jpgSizzla Kalonji may be leaving the Island Def Jam Music Group because he is not pleased with the promotion and marketing push of the album he has been working on for the past few months.

"Def Jam dem nah push it out certain way, so I and I ah observe them still, but I plan to withdraw this album...take back my master. Once we see the light and way we can utilize it, we can get the good out of anything, so the work will continue," he told YardFlex.Com.

Sizzla had not been officially signed to Def Jam, but was reportedly shopping for a deal with the big record label after big wigs at the label had expressed interest in his sensational sound.

Are you surprised that the executives, including Def Jam President Jay Z are not showing more interest in your album?

"Mi caan surprise, yu fi jus know say we ah warrior, and once we can get a medium through which we can express ourselves, things like that, that's what we're gonna do, you know what I mean," eh said.

Carnival Sunday. April 23, 2006. Thousands of revellers stream through the streets around Half-Way Tree in an orgy of colours that dazzle the eye and fire the imagination.

Voluptuous, firm-bodied young women thrill the crowd with impromptu demonstrations of 'sexual outercourse' with only-too-willing men on the burning asphalt. Meanwhile, on the soft shoulders of the major thoroughfares, people stand in open-jawed awe and envy at the licentious goings-on in the streets of Kingston.

Irony of Carnival in Jamaica

Carnival_YardFlexA.jpgHypocrisy most foul is the common denominator of the carnival experience in Jamaica. During the season, people gyrate in mas camps and on the streets (or turn out to fan themselves during the spectacle on the street) but it is these same individuals who nod their heads in agreement in church as the preachers bellow damnation from the pulpit. They 'bun' the bacchanal, but delight in the emotions it excites.

In other West Indian societies, Trinidad, for example, carnival is hailed as an influential factor for social integration and an escape from tension and the negative impact of social prejudices. In Jamaica carnival is cause for excitement as well as blunt criticisms.

"Carnival contributes to the moral decline in Jamaica, it cannot be just entertainment, it has other implications," said sociologist, Blossom White. Although there is no data available at the University of the West Indies (UWI) to determine the effects of carnival on Jamaica or its people, Mrs. White, who has tutored at the UWI for 17 years, is convinced that the celebrations have a negative impact on society.

"Do not believe all that stuff about social integration. Carnival is just for a day and a weekend, after a while we go back to the way it is -- who is to be exploited, is exploited, who is to be oppressed is oppressed. We (shouldn't) fool ourselves, society is stratified (and) carnival doesn't break down social barriers," added Mrs. White who has carried out some research on the matter.

ON EVE OF SENTENCING, WILD RUMOURS CIRCULATE THAT 'ZEKES' HANGED SELF IN CELL

On the eve of his sentencing in the Home Circuit Court on Thursday, a wild rumour raced around the Corporate Area that Matthews Lane don Donald 'Zekes' Phipps had hanged himself in his cell at the Horizon Adult Remand Centre on Spanish Town Road in Kingston.

Phipps, who was convicted of two counts of murder in a sensational trial that ended last week, had reportedly been having a 'torrid incarceration', and there have been numerous reports, some of which have been confirmed by prison officials, that he is being abused by other prisoners, especially other high-profile dons such as himself.

It was this systematic abuse at the hands of other prisoners -- some of whom are reportedly incensed by the allegations that were revealed during the trial that 'Zekes' forced a man to perform a homosexual act on him before he killed him -- that compelled prison officials to transfer him from the Horizon Remand Centre, sparking the rumours that he had hanged himself.

Rihanna: S.O.S. (Rescue Me)

Webmin

rihanna_02.jpgIt's unsurprising that the video for Rihanna's latest single, S.O.S. (Rescue Me) contains an alluring bronzed woman, flashing lights, and close-ups because (1) these are nearly prerequisites for MTV videos and (2) Rihanna is so gorgeous that she really doesn't need to do anything to entertain. Throughout the video she sprawls in a corner and dances in sultry outfits; the lyrics suggest that a boy has her &ldquostressing" and "calling out for help," though she certainly doesn't seem to be losing any sleep over it.

RihannaFor Rihanna, a native of Barbados, this video is a departure from the dancehall theme of her two previous singles, If It's Lovin' That You Want and Pon de Replay. Gone are the beach scenes, the DJs, and the Caribbean backing track. In fact, this video is shot against an erratic monochromatic background, features few choreographed dance scenes, and a thundering beat that is an obvious appropriation of Soft Cell's eighties hit Tainted Love.

As a result, Rihanna's choreography in S.O.S pales in comparison to her previous work, but fits well with the song; the hazy lighting and changing backgrounds even compensate for the lack of synchronized movement.

SizzlaKalonjiYardFlexCarlingtonWilmot.jpgRastafarian hero Sizzla doesn't jeopardize his position as Jamaica's most beloved roots reggae star on his latest album, "Ain't Gonna See Us Fall." Unlike his bump-and-grind-prone peers, the dreadlocked veteran delivers exactly what his fans expect of him after 10 years in the game - sweat-soaked songs of spiritual salvation.

No greater is the message of cultural pride than on the choir-backed title track, a defiant yet tender prayer for Jamaica's citizens. "People Need Love," a steel drum-supported plea to the government to improve the plight of the poor, sums up the album's core dogma, that love makes the world go round.

Not surprisingly, Sizzla's love theme transfers perfectly into the bedroom. It's there that he employs his trademark falsetto, tapping into his inner Gregory Isaacs for sugary grooves like "Somewhere" and "Knowing Each Other."

Leftside&EscoWata.jpgThe new single, Whistle, performed by the duo of Leftside and Esco, has been creating waves since the video hit television screens a little over two weeks ago. The soca-influenced song which is really a take off from the Iwer George hit Water (recorded a while back), has been embraced by the Wata product for its latest promotional vehicle.

'This song is basically a work for hire. The distributors of the Wata product wanted to recreate a song coming off the Iwer George song. The vibe has been good so far', Matthew 'Esco' Thompson explained in an interview on the weekend.

Although a bit suggestive, Whistle appears to have been embraced by loyal soca enthusiasts. 'We hope it will do well for the carnival season. If you notice, the video has a lot of girls, and we tried to create a whole different look', added Thompson.

The video for Whistle was shot on location in Lime Cay a few weeks ago and YardFlex's finest was there PaPa & Razzi.

VybzKartelDeathTreath-YardFlex.jpgDeejay Vybz Kartel believes he has uncovered a plot by armed thugs to kill him at a dance this weekend.

YardFlex.Com investigations have revealed that the deejay, who penned the 'Emergency' hit last year, believes that group of men from the Waterford community have been asking suspicious questions about him, and have even been 'casing' his Oaklands apartments home in St. Andrew.

"Last week, as I drove out of Oaklands, my friends called me to tell me that some men came and were looking for me, and ah wait pon the ends fi me. Then, a couple of days later, one of my bredrin them from foreign call me and ah say some man call him and ask some unusual question 'bout the deejay have a show this weekend doan?', so him call me and tell me fi cancel the shows dem because dem yute de a pree me wicked from wha day," he explained.

Are you going to the shows still, despite the threat?
"Hell yeah! All me ah go do is beef up my security. I have an obligation to my fans...I have to be careful, yes, but ah just the music me ah penetrate right now, and mi nah go let dem down."

babycham2.jpgThere are a million stories in the ghetto. And yet there's only one "Ghetto Story." And like the song says, it's a survival story.

In Jamaica's ultra-competitive music scene, stars are born every day and fade away just as fast. But ever since the mid 1990s, Baby Cham has represented the best of cutting-edge dancehall reggae. His every release seems to bring forth new sounds, new slang, and up-to-the minute ghetto news reports guaranteed to "bust the dance." Spelled with a C (like champagne), Cham should not be confused with any Flipmode Squad affiliate, although he has been known to bust a rhyme from time to time.

With his athletic good looks, his booming baritone voice, and a catalog of hits that won't quit, Cham has managed to stay ahead of the times for longer than any other DJ in the game. And with the release of his long-awaited album Ghetto Story, Cham's poised to take dancehall to another level all over again.

Jeneil-YardFlex.jpgSEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD Jeneil Williams became Pulse's hottest new modelling sensation when she was named last week as world "Model of the Week" by Models.com, the bible of the international modelling industry.

This exotic teenager was introduced to the international model market in the middle of March, one week before the title was bestowed on her, by Pulse's CEO Kingsley Cooper. She has now given herself and her agency further reason to celebrate by landing and shooting the new Benetton campaign with top photographer David Simms.

Jeneil is following a now established Pulse tradition of its models landing major campaigns or editorials immediately on starting their international careers. Interestingly, the most famous of these, Nadine Willis, is signed to New York models, the same agency that has successfully booked Jeneil for Benetton.

TwinsOfTwinsYardFlex.jpgHenry K, the manager of the duo, Twins of Twins, has categorically denied that the Twins of Twins had said 'any icon weh kill a next icon fi get bullet' on their new CD, 'Stir It Up, Vol. Sicks' which was launched a few weeks ago.

"The song that Beenie is referring to is "From the Same Places" and nowhere on that track does Twins of Twins say that. They respect Beenie, and they would never say anything like that which would paint him in a negative light, especially since they know how delicate the situation is," he told YardFlex.Com over the weekend.

"On the track, they are merely commenting on the similarities between the Tupac-Biggie thing, and the rivalries in dancehall. These guys come from the same places and the system sets them up in opposition against each other, that's what they're talking about...the system."

D'AngelPregnancyYardFlex.jpgD'Angel, whose monster hit, 'Downtown Girl' dominated local charts last year, will be taking a sabbatical from all stage shows for the next five months because of her two-month old pregnancy.

"After my baby, I will be right back, I am not taking an extended break. Right now, I am recording my album, I already did my collaborations for 'Undisputed', and I have a couple of videos to do soon, and in the meantime, I'll still be recording songs in the studio, just no shows for now," she told YardFlex.Com.

Asked if things were moving a bit fast for her, she responded:

"I am just grateful for this blessing, this is the first time that's I’ve got pregnant, and it's a blessing, all love, and I am just praying and asking God to carry me through it, He knows best...everything is happening, and it is moving fast, but I prayed to find somebody like Moses, someone who loves me completely...it is God's will."

Many people considered D'Angel's birthday party a 'rehearsal of sorts' for the upcoming wedding fiesta planned for the two superstar lovebirds.

For one, the birthday cake had three tiers, friends and family from both sides were present, the emcees kept making 'wedding jokes', and love permeated the air. For many, the high point of the party occurred just a few minutes after the wedding jokes when Beenie grabbed the mic, and belted out the words to a new song, 'Woman I Love You'.

Woman I love you like no one I have ever loved before
Woman I need yu like no one that I've ever needed before
Anytime I am alone with you, you bring so much joy to my world
Everytime I am away from you, you take a piece of my heart

VyzeKartelSunplashYardFlex.jpgThe year 2006 marks the return of the Reggae Sunsplash show to Jamaica. Don't get it twisted, Sumfest is a great festival but the return of Sunsplash is the re-emergence of the ultimate, and it is a joy to see a great festival return to claim its status as the premiere musical entertainment event in Jamaica, this is really a signal of a return, a move that is 'back to basics'.

This will be my first Sunsplash, and this is a great occasion for me as it is an honour to grace the stage, especially in this, the virgin stage, when the born-again Sunsplash is building up a new foundation. Over the years,I have heard people say that, to get a taste of the original Reggae Sunsplash vibe, one would have to travel to California to attend the Reggae On The River Festival.

This festival is an annual three-day festival presenting the best of reggae in a setting where culture, and positive vibes, and maybe, if they're lucky, good weed, is the overwhelming experience of the hundreds of thousands attending.

ChilaVicb.jpgThis handsome, cocky 27 year-old has been raising eyebrows in Portmore, St. Catherine with his carefully crafted rhymes and his offbeat signature slang, 'Tis like Murder'.

"The things I put in my songs are different from the norm...I think out of the box, I go out of my way to flip things, be bold, so that I can really click with an audience and make a mark," the goatee-wearing Vich said.

Chella Vich's songs are cooler than frozen kool-aid with sing-along hooks, and catchy wordplay. He is one of those few artistes with a singular ability to marry hard-core and radio friendly cuts.

Ever since coming to Portmore, St. Catherine six years ago, Chella Vich has been steadily making a name for himself, and he caught the interest of young producers, Orville 'Bush' Blake and Andrew Johnson, who comprise his new management team.

"They've encouraged me to step forward and do my thing. I have always been self-employed but this is what I really want to do, and my gang, the Melt Dem Gang and man like Barnes, dem see things in me I don't see, and they've always encouraged me to just do it...get in the business," he said.

The album was released in Japan earlier this year, and based on information gleaned from the Internet, the album ranks as one of the top sellers in that part of the world, over the past two months.
Hayee will be released in the Caribbean and the US later this year. It contains the hits Tribute To Bogle (Wacky Dip), Jamaican Jiggas, and Do What You Feel Like among others. The group's latest chart entry is Get Crazy, which is riding local charts as well as the New York reggae chart.

sumfest2003.jpgIt was revealed that Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest patrons pump $400 million annually by way of direct spending around the time of the annual reggae festival. This was revealed to prospective investors who turned out for 'reggae breakfast' at the Coral Cliff Hotel and Entertainment Centre in Montego Bay.

"The involvement of the business community is critical to the success of this event," said Johnny Gourzong, the event's executive director.
Gourzong stressed the importance of a "unified buy-in", imploring new stakeholders and all business operators within the western region to strike up a partnership with his organisation.

"Currently, the direct spend is $400 million, but we can do even better," he said. In fact, research has shown that if the organisers can increase the number of patrons, from 45,000 annually to 60,000, the direct spend would increase to $500 million.

leechin.jpgJAMAICAN-CANADIAN BILLIONAIRE Michael Lee Chin has become a bonafide media mogul.

It was announced yesterday that he has acquired the controlling stake in the United General Insurance Company (UGIC), as well as the controlling interest in the CVM Group, informed sources say. The interest being sold in the cash-strapped general insurance giant is owned by Neville Blythe's UGI Group. The company has been hit by new insurance regulations requiring a substantial boost in its assets.

An agreement has been reached for Mr. Lee Chin's AIC Barbados company to take the 75 per cent UGIC stake, although the deal is subject to regulatory approval. The insurer is the biggest operating unit in the UGI Group. The CVM Group, a subsidiary of the UGI Group, includes CVM Television along with Hot 102, X-News and the Teen Herald. The CVM acquisition is expected to cost $250 million and involve a 64 per cent stake. Mr. Lee Chin is to pump $300 million into the acquisition to provide it with necessary equipment.

energetic cameo in one that boosted her career and made her infamous. However the 63 year-old former trade ambassador Peter King tops them all with a whopping 30 sex tapes, each reportedly more lurid than
the next.

Police sources have revealed that the sex tapes, which are now in the hands of investigators, have 'revealing' scenes involving a number of well-known figures from the local media, business, political and even the entertainment fraternities. The clout wielded by these 'pillars of society' has already set tongues wagging that the police may be party to an extensive cover-up to save the reputations of these individuals.

"I am hoping that, if these tapes do exist and if there is sexual activity involving underage boys taking place on them, that the police levels charges against the guilty parties, whoever they are," Betty Ann Blaine, convenor of Hear the Children's Cry, told

The lyrics mirror the love of Jamaican artistes for the 'incendiary' with calls to 'burn' out negative elements that plague the society.

neyo_YardFlex.jpgAFTER SUFFERING a major disappointment when he first tried to make an album, singer-songwriter Ne-Yo decided to drop the 'singer' off his resume and just focus on being a songwriter.

White who has carried out some research on the matter.

daniel-videoshoot_YardFlex.jpgShe is determined, confident and ready to launch big time on the entertainment scene. Danielle knows it's a tough business to break into, but she is confident that her charisma, personality and talent will cut a niche for herself in the dancehall arena.

Currently, "I am focusing on marketing myself right now". She has recently completed a single titled 'Sexual Healing' with Gramps from Morgan's Heritage. The single was released last week and she is expecting big things from it. The song is a remake of Marvin Gaye's hit "with my own interpretation on it," the DJ pointed out.

It is not hard to predict that Danielle will go places as her winsome personality, her childlike grin and her aptitude for music is evident when you talk with her.

Born in Kingston, Danielle enjoys swimming, listening to dancehall, hip hop, R&B, and writing music. She is somewhat free spirited and believes in being happy no matter what her circumstances are. She admits, however, that when the decisions are important, she plans ahead accordingly.

She delights in all types of cuisine, but especially loves Oyster and other seafood. Her taste in fashion goes all the way to Europe, as she adores Italian designers and French perfume.

Apparently, there has been a row between Appleton and Absolute Entertainment, and hence both entities will be promoting separate events over the two week period.

David Walton, brand manager for Appleton told the press that Absolute's reps "saw the Independence weekend to be more accommodating to their schedule, as the Monday (Independence Day) was a holiday. The Monday prior to Emancipation Day[Tuesday August 1] is a regular work day and this has inconvenienced a number of our loyal Appleton supporters.

"Our goal is to build brand equity, and hence we will respond in ways which please our loyal supporters and party fans in an effort to offer a safe, and exciting weekend for all who wish to attend," Walton was quoted as saying.

Rihanna: S.O.S. (Rescue Me)

rihanna_02.jpgIt's unsurprising that the video for Rihanna's latest single, S.O.S.

The annual award ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 6 at New York's famed Apollo Theatre. Among his six nominations, Marley is nominated for an award in his father's name, the Bob Marley Award for Entertainer of the Year. Marley has been confirmed to perform at the show, and if his recent GRAMMY wins for Best Reggae Album and Best Urban/Alternative Performance are any indication, he is set to take home a couple of awards, as well.

This year's Marcus Garvey Humanitarian Award will be bestowed on actor Danny Glover, rock singer Bono and activist/entertainer Harry Belafonte. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster.com. For more, visit InternationalMusicAwards.com.

She has now given herself and her agency further reason to celebrate by landing and shooting the new Benetton campaign with top photographer David Simms.

Jeneil is following a now established Pulse tradition of its models landing major campaigns or editorials immediately on starting their international careers.

Sex Tape Saga Blows Up - KingFish A Come

SexTape.jpgR & B superstar R. Kelly had a highly incriminating one, and even sexy socialite Paris Hilton had an
energetic cameo in one that boosted her career and made her infamous.

"I am hoping that, if these tapes do exist and if there is sexual activity involving underage boys taking place on them, that the police levels charges against the guilty parties, whoever they are," Betty Ann Blaine, convenor of Hear the Children's Cry, told

yesterday.

Peppa told YardFlex.com.

neyo_YardFlex.jpgAFTER SUFFERING a major disappointment when he first tried to make an album, singer-songwriter Ne-Yo decided to drop the 'singer' off his resume and just focus on being a songwriter.

And people I gotta tell u the breeze on my neck feels fantastic. Also I shot my album cover with marcus klinko who did my album cover for "tasty". As I said before I changed my album title to "kelis was here" so me n my friend who's "one of the kids" if u know what I mean came up with this cute idea of me all over the world, shot kinda like helmut newton style who I luv.

Rihanna: S.O.S. (Rescue Me)

rihanna_02.jpgIt's unsurprising that the video for Rihanna's latest single, S.O.S.

Damian Marley Among Leading World Music Nominees

Juniorgong-GrammyYardFlex.jpgElephant Man leads with eight nominations at the 25th International Reggae and World Music Awards. Following close behind are Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley and Sean Paul with six nods.

Recently, a combination of Hitlist's live high energy performances and the chart hit 'Please Stop the Killing' currently rocketing up all major local charts, has propelled him into the limelight as the Next Big Thing in the dancehall game - a title that he does not accept easily.

"I am just here to tell the yutes that blood for blood is not the answer. We live inna it, grow inna it, we see man drop out inna it, and my words come from the heart, people need fi recognize what is really going on, it wicked inna the garrison," he told YardFlex.Com.

Andrew.

"Last week, as I drove out of Oaklands, my friends called me to tell me that some men came and were looking for me, and ah wait pon the ends fi me. babycham2.jpgThere are a million stories in the ghetto.

They respect Beenie, and they would never say anything like that which would paint him in a negative light, especially since they know how delicate the situation is," he told YardFlex.Com over the weekend.

The transmission will begin on a phased basis with television services. Testing of the technology solutions for channels already assigned has begun. The phased rollout of television will take place over a period of three months and will include a rich variety of programming.
