Vybzkartel_yardflexA.jpgDeejay Vybz Kartel has sheared his trademark braided hairstyle for a sleek new close-cropped do.

"Remember, one time Kartel used to always wear jerseys, and then I switched to tight jeans and pointed mouth shoes, so this is like that, I am flipping the game, changing things up, and I thought it would be a good idea to go with a more corporate, clean-shaven look, and Kartel has the most female fans in the business, and if they love it and endorse it, it's all good, just don’t get it twisted," deejay Vybz Kartel told YardFlex.com.

Kartel's latest hit, 'Emergency', produced by Patrick 'Roach' Samuels, is in the top 10 of the Richie B/Tru Juice charts. In the meantime, Kartel is enjoying his role as a father of two healthy young sons.

"I am basically an introvert so I spend a lot of time at home with my son, Jaheim who is two-and-a-half years old, the younger one is just one year old, I try to be a good father, teach them good values and attitudes. I believe in family."

PeterLloyd.jpgPeter Lloyd is an artiste who has had a remarkable odyssey. He has matured and grown up under the bright lights of the media spotlight, so much so he took an enforced sabbatical a few years ago. Now, he's back. He has rediscovered his love for the music, and the world had better watch out.

"My problem was that I was actor, a broadcasting, did a lot of film work, I do edutainment, I give motivational talks. When I came back to Jamaica in 1999, I stopped singing, I was tired of it, and about 2000, I went to stage shows, and decided I can do this again," he told YardFlex.com.

ciara_yardflex.jpgI have heard a rumor that the R&B star, Ciara, was born male. That he/she decided that he wanted to be a female at the age of 5, and his mother let him grow his hair out. I was told that he had surgury, so he no longer has a penis. and apparently he/she was on Oprah having an in depth converstation about it, along with discussing it in a magazine article.

Ciara Ciara Harris, an 18-year-old who performs under the sole name of Ciara, has been dubbed the First Lady of "Crunk & B," a genre of music described as a grinding, dancefloor-friendly alternative to R&B.

Her 2004 album, "Goodies," topped the charts, and she has been nominated at the 19th annual Soul Train Music Awards in four categories, including best R&B/soul single, female ("Goodies") and best R&B/soul or rap new artist.

She is beautiful and talented. And someone has tied a nasty rumor to her.

50_Cent_yardflex.jpgU.S. rapper 50 Cent should not be allowed to bring his "Massacre Tour" to Canada, says Toronto MP Dan McTeague.

On Tuesday, McTeague asked Immigration Minister Joe Volpe to deny the artist entry for an upcoming Canadian tour, which is scheduled to stop in Halifax on Dec. 14.

McTeague says 50 Cent promotes gun violence, a message he feels Torontonians in particular don't need to hear. A record 48 people have been shot to death in that city so far this year.

50 Cent, who was born Curtis Jackson in Queen's, N.Y., has a criminal record and would need a ministerial permit to enter Canada.

Jamaican dancehall's leading names are easily organized into a clear hierarchy. While Vybz Kartel, Sean Paul, Bounty Killer, and Sizzla continue to sit atop the A-list, it's always worth paying attention to those lower in the pecking order. After all, next-generation superstars are usually to be found among these hungry young artists. While some underground strivers seem destined to suffer, perennially overlooked performers like the massively underrated Bling Dawg, hard work and a bit of luck pulls others through.

Dancehall Artiste Mad Cobra To Smoke Detroit

cobra_yardflex.jpgDetroit's dancehall and reggae scene can be hard to find if you don't know where to look. With zero media attention and few venues - save Trenchtown and Tropical Hut, which play reggae consistently - a person could assume that Detroit lacks a dancehall community. To some, the absence of dependable reggae might not mean much, but to the growing West Indian community throughout metro Detroit, a shortage of ragga is almost criminal.

So it's no surprise that Jamaican promoters and sound systems have recently been trying to pump vitality into Detroit's dancehall (a genre of reggae that, among other things, incorporates a DJ) scene.

BountyKiller_yardflex.com.jpgBounty Killer has recently recorded a new song which features a collaboration with rock group Program The Dead. The remix was produced by Daseca, who also co-wrote and produced Sean Paul's current single, "We Be Burnin"

"Program The Dead are a very talented group that are destined for big things for sure. Their tracks are very melodic and well constructed and we could even spot the Jamaican influence on a couple of their tracks, which certainly helped me feel the collabo more. The lead singer s vocal (Matt Koruba) has a very different texture and delivery from mine; the contrast works so well on the song we've done." says Killer.

SeanPaul_YardFlex.com.jpgMulti-platinum, Grammy Award winner, Sean Paul, has recorded an inspirational song dedicated to young people all over the globe. Honest and heartfelt lyrics laid over a conventional one drop rhythm, describes Young World, as Sean Paul sings, "It's your time to change the world."

Though known for his club banging beats, hot videos and setting Dancehall trends worldwide, like all Jamaicans, he's been affected by the recent upsurge in violence, death of his friend and the lack of hope for the youths. So, Sean sat down and penned this one for young people everywhere.

"When I was a kid, I was told that I could change the world. Maybe I haven't done that yet but if I can encourage at least one young person to try and make a difference, then so be it," says Sean Paul about his reason for writing this particular song.

"We were planning to pursue this split before, but due to lacking submissions, we held back. Although we are now getting more than enough submissions currently, we would prefer more entries so if we do split the categories, both would have more than sufficient entries," stated Steffens.

But Bob's success - not to diminish the greatness of his music - was achieved in part through the savvy marketing and executive production of Island Records mogul Chris Blackwell, who remixed Marley's music in London studios, overdubbing rock guitars and "cleaning up" the raw and ready

So it's no surprise that Jamaican promoters and sound systems have recently been trying to pump vitality into Detroit's dancehall (a genre of reggae that, among other things, incorporates a DJ) scene.

Canada's MP Dan McTeague - No Entry For 50 Cent

Webmin

cobra_yardflex.jpgDetroit's dancehall and reggae scene can be hard to find if you don't know where to look.

So it's no surprise that Jamaican promoters and sound systems have recently been trying to pump vitality into Detroit's dancehall (a genre of reggae that, among other things, incorporates a DJ) scene.

lilkim.jpgLIL' KIM, six weeks into her yearlong sentence for lying to a grand jury, is reportedly writing and rapping in her Philadelphia prison cell.

A recently released inmate told the New York Post that the teeny star spends lots of time alone in her cell (she doesn't have a roomie yet) writing songs she hopes to release when she is sprung.

"She's always happy, and she's always singing," another inmate said.

That may be because she has one of the cushiest jobs in the federal facility - dusting and mopping the building's administrative offices. Most of the other 130-odd female prisoners work in the kitchen, clean toilets, or do laundry.
