The 'Big Easy' has teamed up with the 'Rock' to bring a new kind of festival to the world.
Jamaica and the devastated city of New Orleans will stage the first annual Jamaica/New Orleans Music and Food Festival on November 4 to 5 in Montego Bay, St. James. Plans for the festival were well advanced before the monster hurricane decimated the city last month, and part proceeds will be given to the American New Orleans fund to develop music and culture.
United States-based African Love Music Group Inc., one of the most celebrated reggae dancehall recording labels will be re-launching its label in a major campaign that unfolds over two days. One event will be held at the West Indian Social Club Hartford Connecticut on November 11, and the other is slated to be held at Wild Palm in Bronx, New York on Saturday, November 12

Damian "Jr Gong" Marley is among the few "drafted" by Rock superstars U2 as support acts for its just-underway fall North American tour. Marley will be on the bill from Sunday, October 16 in Philadelphia to Wednesday, November 9 in Oakland, California.

The transition at the age of ten, for this country boy, to the cold, gray streets of New York City was not an easy rite of passage.

Sean Paul has garnered a Music of Black Origin (MOBO) award nomination for his newly released single, 'We Be Burnin', under the category of Best Reggae Act. The MOBO 10th Anniversary Awards happens on Thursday, September 22. The venue for the show is the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Assassin's launch party for his debut album, Infiltration, is scheduled for Thursday, September 8 at the Mas Camp. It is invitation only event and about 5,000 fans have been invited. Fans can win invites by checking the Star for more information. Infiltration drops on Tuesday, September 13 so look out for that.

On a recent trip to Japan, Wayne Wonder was performing in front of excited fans at Zepp Saparo. He was jumping up and down on stage with much energy and the fans seemed to have been going wild. The Japanese are unlike any other fans in the world.
